From the moment were were picked up at our hotel in Florence until the time we were taken back to the train station in Florence 6 days later to proceed on the next leg of our Italy trip, every moment was 5 star. This was an experience for the ages. To start with, the accommodations are very unique unlike anywhere else I have stayed. The 1100s renovated castle offered all the amenities of any 5 star experience. Including the heated marble floors and heated towel racks mixed with a medieval ambiance and architecture. Every detail was thought through carefully to enhance our group experience. Our tour guide through Tuscany with our group to and from the wine tours, Tuscany towns, etc had an amazing knowledge of the area and its may centuries of history, It was a delight. The guides that were chosen for us in Sienna, Assisi, and others were outstanding with a wealth of knowledge in art and the unique were certified tour guides were required. The food…. Was amazing. All ventures selected for lunch and dinner were superb and the meals provide at the Castle were exceptional and worthy of 5 stars themselves. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation, I highly recommend. Phenomenal experience.…
What a wonderful six nights we spent in this amazing castle. The place is gorgeous in every detail, immaculate, beautifully restored and a great location to explore the nearby Tuscany hill towns and the center of sangiovese wine. The hosts were welcoming and so helpful we felt like it was our home. We had several dinners at the castle that were incredible with the variety and quality of Italian specialties. We had a standard room, but it was spacious, interesting and a lovely view out over the rooftops of the town onto the fields in the distance. The pool area was so scenic with the towers and other castle structures there to remind us of what a unique experience this was. We can't wait to plan another trip here.
I just returned from a stay at the Castle last week and I cannot recommend it enough. I was there with 10 other ladies, through my friend's boutique travel company, and we had a thoroughly wonderful time. The Castello is beautifully done with rich history and gorgeous views. Salvatore was a fabulous storyteller, guide, and host, and Antonio made sure everything ran like clockwork. Such a great family and wonderful hosts. I hope I can return one day.
My family had the opportunity to visit in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The castle property and location are charming. The rooms are well appointed. What makes this property stand out are the hosts! Antonio and Salvatore are both engaging and helpful. We were so pleased with their dinner recommendations. One small, family run restaurant in town was both delicious and entertaining. It provided a sneak peak into the daily life of the local villagers. The other reservation, the restaurant was exceptional great food, beautiful outdoor seating and terrific service. Plan your visit!
We visited the Castello as part of a tour group. All I can say is that the trip exceeded all our expectations. Everyone at the castle was helpful, knowledgeable and super friendly. We had the time of our lives and will certainly return. The castle and grounds were amazing, but it was really the staff that set the place apart. Salvatore, Antonio and Rezena put together great meals and took care of our every need. The location is great - right in the middle of wine country and close to Siena, Montalcino, Orvieto, etc. It is right where you want to be. I can't imagine staying anywhere else the next time we come to Italy.
