The accommodation was comfortable, private, good views, clean and staff were welcoming and helpful. We were expecting a call and requested for an hour late check out and they were kind enough to accommodate our request.
I have just spent 3 nights at Kimi Ora and I am enchanted with my stay. The beginning of the track is only minutes away and after a long day tramping, it is so lovely to go back to such a quiet, beautiful and relaxing place. I have particularly enjoyed the Scandinavian sauna and the heated pool, as well as my little accomodation that was super cozy, had unbeatable views, and was very comfortable. I slept very well and usually I struggle sleeping when I travel solo. The staff was very helpful and made me feel like they genuinely cared about me and my stay. I loved these little details, that make the stay more enjoyable, like the DVD players in the room with lots of beautiful movies to choose from (very different from just a Netflix subscription), the number of beautiful teas to choose from, the fitness trails ... My only reservation is about the breakfast. I didn't find it was good enough for a wellness resort. I think it should have had even more healthy alternatives and maybe more information about what is what. Also, no solo rate, so you pay for two breakfasts! Apart from this very little thing I have enjoyed everything else thoroughly and I will go back!…
When I pay in the $300s for a place, I expect it not to have dirty marks on carpet or the sofa. Very dated rooms and furniture, old spa bath. Yes the views aren't that bad, but looks very tired and old.
We stayed only one night, so didn’t make full use of all the facilities. We had a lovely warm welcome, and found all the staff marvellous. Two of us had bikes which we were able to lock up in the bike shed. We were keen to try massage- but this was fully booked. We had a two bedroom unit- with a small sitting area, and limited kitchen ( but with a hot plate) with no dishwasher. The beds were singles joined together-firm but not super luxurious- although scrupulously clean. You wouldn’t want to spend much time in the unit- which may be the idea anyway. Beautiful views from the unit. We enjoyed the vegetarian dinner- vegan options too, and breakfast in the morning was generous- which we enjoyed slowly over about 2 hours!
It was a beautiful place ,gorgeous accommodation very clean ,fantastic staff gorgeousfacilities. ,but the breakfast was terrible. Hardly anything left .eggs were over boiled and green .no avocados or tomatoes or much for kids ,disappointment to the end of other wise a gorgeous brilliant trip .
