The Van der Valk Hotel lies in a comfortable location just outside the highway exit. The hotel is modernly decorated, with a large lobby and two beautifully designed restaurants - Asian and Modern style.
Rooms are nice and modern, with very good quality sleep, soundproof windows, large bathroom with Italian shower.
The breakfast buffet is more than complete with a vast array of options for all tastes. International buffet to recommend. Quality/price: successful combination. A hotel to keep in mind for the region.

From the front desk staff to the restaurant wait staff and housekeeping - every person we encountered was exceptionally professional, courteous, helpful. They treated each guest as a valued guest. The daily breakfast buffet was exceptional as was the dining experience in The Nest. The location of this hotel was perfect for our attending the Construction Days event for the building of the floats as well as for watching the Tulip parade from the grandstands - a few minutes walk away. Prior to our arrival, I had a few questions and the staff not only answered in a very timely manner, but also made suggestions and offers to assist me in any way. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to southern Amsterdam.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the tulip fields and farms as we were attending the tulip festival. The hotel offered a Keukenhof package, which included most meals and an entry ticket to Keukenhof, which we thought was good value for money. We were not disappointed. The hotel was ideally located for exploring the area by bicycle, which we rented from the hotel. We also attended the tulip parade which passed right by the hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The on-site restaurant and bar were lovely and there was a good selection at the breakfast buffet. Hoping to do the tulip festival again in future and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Had a superior room in which the sanitary facilities were in the bedroom. The extraction on toilet was not optimal, so the smell could be smelled in the entire bedroom. The lighting of the toilet was coupled with the lighting above the sink in the bedroom. On nighttime visits to the bathroom, you as a sleeper left behind bathed directly in the light. The airzo/ climate control did not work in the bedroom at night, making it too hot. Opening a window wasn't an option, because of highway noise. The bread during breakfast was not replenished in time and I had to make do with a cap of the bread. There were also many dishes with fillings empty. I noticed that many people took large plates full of all kinds of fillings and breads to their table, and did not eat everything that was not said.
We could not charge our car electrically, because it was not equipped with a CCS connection. There was a very empty row of Tesla charging stations.

I always stay at a Van Der Valk but this was the first time in Sassenheim-Leiden. Unfortunately, they have an overpriced restaurant, noisy rooms, tea/coffee not refreshed, minibar 'gift' provided once and when contacted, horrible wifi, front desk does not 'act', and 'marketing' provides scathing blame-the-customer responses on Google reviews. Stay at another hotel!

In the middle of the night a heart tapping sound from the heating in the room, which ticks on and off.
When the first report was made, an apology was offered and compensation was not negotiable. Left a contact request at check-out. This employee understood that compensation was needed. When contacted afterwards, a small discount was given on a subsequent stay. Not a proposal to repay part of the amount. A discount of at least 50% would have been appropriate if you want to give the guest a good experience and peace of mind.

Interesting room design with a lot of black and not much light, definitely different. The attached casino does some bad karma :-) Prices are upmarket, particularly bar and restaurants. Not a single kid around, so more for couples or business.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel due to its peaceful atmosphere, spacious rooms, and a fairly good location. However, I was disappointed with the room service's unresponsiveness and their limited hours of availability. It was odd that they provided coffee capsules and tea for free only on the first day, and on the second day, it was chargeable. Furthermore, requesting tissues for the room resulted in them providing only four pieces, which was quite strange. On the positive side, the hotel's decoration is appealing, but finding parking can be a challenge as it's not always readily available.

We stayed for a 2-night package which included a 3-course meal and tickets to the Keukenhof. We found everything at the hotel at a very high standard, especially the staff; the food was excellent, especially the breakfast which was served as a buffet. Overall, very satisfied with our choice of hotel!

Even thought that the location at the highway is not that fantastic, the hotel is actually quite good. I stayed in room 621 which have a nice view over the channel and very nicely decorated. The staff is providing a really good and friendly service. We use the conference facility and next to all the conference rooms there was an office where that staff always was available
I would definitive stay there again and use the conference facilities.

I am not aware of a shuttle bus to Schiphol, the shuttle bus I know goes from Sassenheim train station via the hotel to AkzoNobel and is only for employees
