Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a great time at "les horizons du lac", a family friendly place, not too many people, many activities proposed, breakfast and dinner included (the restaurant was simple but with choice and good food). The place had an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a kids playground... it is well located next to the lake of Serreponçon which is a beautiful place. We had a nice and relaxing stay and the kids loved it! The only thing is that there is no wifi in the rooms, only at reception

This is a French style sanatorium, structured for those who want to enjoy peace and quiet in the Alps or for those who want a wide range of activities available to them each and every day. I would say that families with children of any age would benefit from staying here the most.

The rooms are in need of a modern upgrade and do remind me of the Soviet-era sanatoriums (yes, I have visited a few way back in the day), but if you plan on participating in fun activities outside of your room and throw any socialism phobia you may have out the window, then your stay will be absolutely enjoyable!

The staff is very cordial and very patient with those who speak French poorly. The prices at the bar and restaurant are the most affordable you will ever see at any resort.

There is a nice pool and a great outside dining area with a great view of the mountains. Rent a car as we did so you can venture out to other places such as the lake and nearby towns.

My wife and I would love to stay here again!

We stayed one night on our way to the French riviera.
The room and bathroom were tired, the whole place needs a makeover.
The dinner and breakfast were OK. The whole place has a feeling of holiday camp...
We could not use our French credit card to pay, the machine did not work....
The location is very nice, lovely mountain view.

The business traveler is best to steer clear of this place, which resembles more of a compound than a hotel.

The beds were both "caved in" in the middle (and extremely uncomfortable) and there is no wifi in the rooms.

The lobby did feature (free) wifi, but there were so many flies that it was uncomfortable to sit there.

Breakfast was a bit on the sparse side.

We booked this hotel thru Hotels.com and it was grossly misrepresented!! We were there for the Tour de France in July and if we could have found another hotel room we would have. The bathroom was no bigger than an RV bathroom, when we asked for more towels we were told flat out NO! We offered to pay for additional towels, buy additional towels...NO! I finally found the gal who checked me in, the only one who spoke english, she took sympathy on me gave me two towels. It was hot and humid, no A/C or fans available. Wi-fi was spotty at best. The nightstands attached to the wall protrude over the bed, I had to put a pillow against it to make sure I didn't roll over into in while I attempted to sleep.
The view is beautiful of the Alps, but that's the only thing good about this place.

We stayed three days here. The hotel was ok, but it was full with families with small, running around, children. If this is not your cup of tea, stay away. There is indoors pool, unfortunately not outdoors. The food is ok, breakfastas well as dinner. Dinner you can only choose the main course: meat or fish, also for the dessert you have only two choices.

From the web site, I expected a touch of luxury- how wrong I was. The room was very old and basic- the only thing that could be said about it was it was functional. I even asked if a mistake had been made in the room allocation!
The daily advertised price outside was less than half that we had paid.
The pool was tatty.
The bar glasses were dirty.
There were kids running everywhere- it was more like a children's holiday camp than a hotel.
The olny good thing I can say about it is that the staff in the restaurant were helpful and friendly (unlike the reception staff).

Hi everyone, I`ve just returned from a European vacation and here is my review of the Vacances Blue Hotel in Chorges Club les serre du Villard. I booked this hotel through Expedia for $132 Euros including buffet diner for two with unlimited wine and breakfast on September 19th 2010. The Hotel is located within close to Chorges notched in a beautiful valley in the French Alps, totally secluded and far from the main road. This is a huge hotel complex that has nice clean rooms, huge heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room and a gym. The views around the hotel of the mountains are truly breathtaking. If your thing is walking or hiking this is where you want to be. The staff is friendly and they want you to be happy, I was not expecting great food but I was surprised the food was truly excellent, buffet type with soups & salads cheese and desserts, and there are several main courses a la carte with free table wine. I noticed that it seemed to cater to an older crowd who like this location for the many trails in the areas. My rooms are all air conditioned, mine had a comfortable queen size bed and television as well as a huge terrace. Parking is free and secure. Overall I found I got good value for my money, I recommended this hotel and I hope to return there one day.

The staff is very attentive. The quality of the meals could be improved. The region is renowned for its three hundred days of sunshine per year.
In short, we have come several times as a family and we will come back to celebrate birthdays

We are delighted with our stay at this residence.
We were in 3-room apartment which has all the comforts with a large terrace.
On the restaurant side, we had the 1/2 board package and the breakfast buffets as well as the evening meals were excellent!
All the staff is very friendly, always smiling!
To advise without hesitation!!!
