Family run and very proud of what they have achieved they are on hand 24/7 to offer all sorts of advice and never too busy for a friendly chat.
The building itself is steeped in Chiaramonte history, up to the 50s it was still a train station, luckily many of the features have been incorporated in the hotel.
The food is nothing short of excellent, and I am a horrible food critic, both the breakfast and dinner had variety, freshness and quality. Lots of local dishes on the menu but again they are happy to oblige with requests. I asked for tirimasu
The rooms are spacious, comfortable bed and good size shower.
The pool is fabulous, well kept with a large shallow pool for children and a jacuzzi, sun beds sit on a lawn with trees and plants all round which makes such a difference from the usual tiles. it really is a very special set up.
All in all ANTICA STAZIONE is definitely well worth a stay. Close to Ragusa and the old town of Chiaramonte Gulfi it is well placed surrounded by the most beautiful scenery.
I have to mention Simona who actually speaks perfect English or she wont feed us tonight and she keeps trying to see what i am writing. But really she is a STAR who has endless energy as she handles every aspect of the hotel. Thank you to ALL the family for making our stay so memorable. We will be back.
Its origins fascinated me a lot, as it was a very old station that was abandoned in the 1950s, the buildings have been preserved and adapted to new needs.
The hotel presents itself very well: the common areas and the rooms are covered with carpet, the rooms are very large and with attention to the smallest details, just as the bathroom is quite large and comfortable.
The breakfast was very abundant with the possibility of choosing both sweet and savory.
I really liked the restaurant: for its wooden structure, the excellent menu in both the choice of meat and fish, the staff who were always helpful and smiling.
The swimming pool is divided into three: the swimming pool with hydromassage, the one for the little ones and the one for adults.
The bar service is nice with the possibility of eating near the swimming pool.
I really appreciated the care and general organization of the structure.
The only slightly sore point is the restaurant, in my opinion the prices of the various courses are a little high, even if we are still talking about abundant quantities and very delicious and uncommon courses.
I will definitely return.
First courses that satisfied each of us with particular praise for the ravioli with carob, ricotta and truffle pasta, to finish with some tastings of second courses (memorable capocollo) and desserts which were also very good. Excellent wine lists and very honest prices given the quality. After a chat with the manager, my friends and I promised to return as soon as possible.

Structure of ancient origins... the name "Antica Stazione" says it all, well furnished and functional
Very spacious, very clean and fragrant rooms, super insulating double-glazed windows.
A trio of swimming pools, a main rectangular one, a square one for the little ones, a square one with hydromassage... all surrounded by deckchairs, umbrellas, wooden pergola, garden and bar area.
Right variety of breakfast for the type of structure, excellent quality of the products used and, as always, super friendly and helpful breakfast staff.
The restaurant was very good with a good choice of dishes, all very good and at a fair price.
Staff always present, very kind and helpful.
What else to say except see you soon.
They made changes that made the place even more beautiful, it is no longer a pizzeria but an à la carte restaurant.
We chose different types of meat and also fish dishes... everything arrived synchronously and without long waits. The guys who waited at the tables were kind and attentive. Each of us appreciated the quality of the dishes, and everything was good, from the appetizer to the dessert. The judgment is positive because the place is beautiful, the table is beautiful and the presentation of the dishes but above all it is all done well!
