Arriving somewhat by chance, we had the chance to participate in the first Nuit des Châteaux organized by the Château de Chanet team. Everything was perfect, the setting, the decor and the renovation of the exceptional rooms, all the friendly staff. The candlelit meal in table d'hôte format was great: delicious food, great value for money, and allowed you to meet unexpected people! We were even treated to a little entertainment with a blind tasting for entry. The night there with the superb breakfast the next day, we feel like real squires! The little extra: we were able to tour the different unrented rooms, passing through the hidden doors of the castle, to discover suites, each more beautiful than the last! It really is a magnificent place. A word of advice: open your doors more often for similar events, or a romantic weekend.

We celebrated a big birthday at the Chateau with 16 friends and family. We also had 3 dogs with us.
We booked this Chateau because it was the perfect size and a lovely location but we couldn’t have predicted how wonderful the team were going to be.
We very quickly felt at home, with cosy snugs and comfortable and beautifully appointed guests rooms, not to mention the stunning gardens and grounds to roam around in, there was plenty to keep us busy.
Over the weekend we had a personal Chef Nicolas who was supported by Celine as well as our lovely event manager Jennifer. As a team they could not do enough for us. They were kind and efficient, friendly and generous and to be honest, we have never had such good service anywhere. Even the best hotels in the world.
I cannot praise the experience enough, it exceeded expectations in every way. Nobody wanted to leave at the end of the weekend.
It will be a memory that we always treasure and we hope it won’t be our last Chateau de Chanet experience.

What an amazing place to hold a wedding. We were so lucky to be on the guest list and spent 4 days staying here. All the guests staying in The Château and linked accommodation in the outbuildings, all beautifully restored,mucked in for some communal meals, but also with the flexibility of popping into picturesque Brantome 20 mins away, to savour the local cuisine in local restaurants on the river banks. Plenty to do at the Château, pool, tennis court or stroll and cycle the local countryside, bikes provided. The bedrooms are large and luxurious. Other guests not staying at the Château found other nearby accommodation without a problem. Convenient to get to from Bordeaux, Limoges or Bergerac airports if you are flying, but take a decent map/satnav as it is off the beaten track.
