Detailed Reviews
The site is not too large. The cottages are wooden clad cottages. Immaculate inside when we arrived. Loo roll and a cleaning welcome kit (not substantial). There is a 4 ring hob and a microwave and fridge freezer. There are plenty of plates cups and glasses etc. but as always with most self catering you need to think about your own utensils. We brought our own knife. Do bring your own cleaning stuff. The bed was really comfortable although the pillows were not great and if we come again we will bring our own. We did look to buy in the local supermarket but it seems small square pillows are the norm here and are very expensive. Parking was fine right outside the cottage. There is a dining table inside and a patio set outside which we ate at most of the time. You can walk directly from the site to the beach on the lake which is lovely soft sand with a life guard and toilets and showers. There are two pools one is partially covered. They had a wrist band system in operation to limit numbers at the pool which was fine for us but aware some people did not appreciate this. Being a bit peevish now you do have to change your own laundry if you're here for 2 weeks and the queue was very long and a bit ridiculous. The €40 cleaning fee if tou don't leave it spotless seems a but steep. The food in the snack bar is limited but very nice. You definitely need a car here. There are loads of outdoor activities to do including sailing, cycling, watersports etc. Several local beaches including Mimizan Plage which is really young and loud and great for surfing and partying and not our cup of tea, and Sanguinet Plage much quieter and a lovely creperie! (much more our cuppa). We liked this place a lot and would definitely come back but with pillows.

We booked 3 cottages for the same week to accommodate our family. It would have been nice to have cottages together which would have been possible, based on our booking requirements, but that was hardly an issue. The rooms are well appointed, clean & modern. You really have to have your ‘self catering’ head screwed on - right down to toilet the roll. But if, like us, you drive to your destination, it’s a simple Aldi bag full of the usual essentials, including a few laundry detergent capsules to make use of the laundry facilities. If you do forget something, access to large supermarkets (Aldi, SuperU) are a 5 minute drive to Parentis-en-born.
A car is essential to make the most of any stay in this region; the lakes are vast and well worth exploring whilst the beautiful beaches in Biscarrosse are a mere 30 minute drive away.
Staff throughout the entire complex are amazing! Friendly, efficient and helpful! Our stay was made better by them - thank you all!
The grounds are mature and offer privacy around the individual cottages but the only criticism is that there needs to be more maintenance of the areas around the accommodation. Some of the lighting on the pathways were in need of repair/light bulbs.
The pool area is immaculate, beds and parasols are of good quality & are plenty (although at peak times you may struggle!) but misplaced and wobbling floor tiles around the pool were an invitation for trips and stubbed toes (especially for children) and we were surprised to see these left in a state of disrepair throughout the week.
Since our last stay it’s nice to see the addition of the covered pool and the extension of the catering facilities. The bar and restaurant serve excellent snacks, food and beverages throughout the day and you really don’t have to venture off site when it comes to eating out! There was some occasional live entertainment which was of a good standard.
The main eating area is on a shaded outdoor deck and is a great space for drinks, food and relaxation!
So overall a great stay - give some attention to the maintenance and the whole experience really would be perfect.

Very good location just by a fresh water lake. The properties are well equipped and the landscaping is very nice. The resort has two pools one of which can be covered in or exposed. There is a nice bar and restaurant on site serving very good meals good service and very friendly staff. The whole experience was very good and would recommend it for couples or families as a perfect location for a holiday in France.

You have to pick up the bed linen and towels when you leave and take them with you. You cannot leave a piece of paper lying around, or the refrigerator or dishwasher clean, otherwise they will penalize you by charging you. A cleaning service is supposed to come when you leave, to leave it looking good for the next guest.

Good residence, the apartment is pleasant. On the other hand, you shouldn't go there with your eyes closed; when you arrive, don't forget to take a good inventory.
- In our accommodation the Chromecast announced was missing “-*”.
- Some pieces of crockery missing and some were very dirty “-*”. This means that no control between 2 rentals and the cleaning to be desired (cobwebs in the corners).
- We had the misfortune of coming across an apartment intended for PRMs, at reception they even took care to tell us “-*”. Forced to bend down to reach the switches, especially the most important point, the bathroom sink too low, my back still remembers.
Following the complaint on this last point, they offered us another apartment just above the restaurant and next to the swimming pool (near the noise). We refused to play movers during our vacation.
Induction hob inappropriate for the size of the pans, 2 burners but you can only use one burner at a time because of the size of the pans.
The bed linen distributed was torn/stained, once again we were unlucky. They exchanged it for us, when unpacking the replacement was torn.
In the residence file, “satellite TV” = TNT channels received by satellite, no more.
Parking spaces are certainly not sufficient compared to the number of apartments, some had to park in PMR spaces and also on 2-wheel spaces.
If you take a 2-week rental, and you use the free Wi-Fi (at this location the mobile network is limited) remember at the end of the first week to go and claim the Wi-Fi code since it is changed every 6 or 7d. No one at reception will warn you in advance.
If you want to order a takeaway pizza for the evening, order it very early around noon or 1 p.m., from a certain time they no longer take orders.
People from outside enter the residence so the secure parking annotation has no place on the presentation of the residence.
There is no point in leaving a note with a very special wish when booking since it is never read, we were told that it is software (AI) that manages everything.

A wonderful location and good accommodation. We have stayed several times and been in both the cabins and apartments. All accommodation is well furnished, clean and comfortable. Like most French holiday resorts there is no access to English language rely. The WiFi was poor despite the fact that we paid an extra€40 for our devices!
The staff are warm and welcoming, the area is oerfect for lots of walking or cycling. We usually go in the quiet season and have the use of both swimming pools, which are both lovely. The indoor pool is heated and on very hot days becomes a partial outdoor pool. We love this provider and will certainly return next September,

Due to heavy traffic we arrived 5 hours late and all staff were gone. Keys were left out for late arrivers but not ours. Took over an hour to sort. There is no shop on site. Bar serves basic drinks only and burger or pizza only food options. Chalet was v basic with no midweek towel change. Beds not comfortable and no air con. You have to put all linen and rubbish outside before you go and leave clean. Area was gorgeous. No one showed us around or gave us ideas of the area. We noticed the bar overflowing one morning and tour guides were telling people about the area. This was only in French and we weren't told about the option to go along. Will come back to the area but wouldn't stay here again

Very good stay. As soon as the weather is gloomy, it would be wise to cover the pool (if it was heated it would be a plus).
In view of the price, it would be nice if the beds were made on arrival of the guests (I Rating example, after 13 hours of travel, you have to make the bed on a Sunday evening and look for food).
Very nice staff (especially at the why not) and the bread depot service is very appreciative.

Isolated resort but clean. The reception staff were friendly and provided extra information on request. A welcome pack would have been a good idea especially for customers arriving late as there was no functioning restaurant on site or nearby. Customers could have been given the addresses of local restaurants as a routine especially out of season. It will also have been helpful if the resort can book tours on request especially for people who do not know the area. There was only one shower cubicle in the changing room of the swimming pool used by both men and women and completely open with no privacy which is totally unacceptable. The decoration of the chalet was basic.

We spent two weeks at the holiday village. It was a nice surprise: a pleasant, quiet, clean, comfortable holiday village.
The swimming pool area is the perfect size, well designed for children (paddling pool, heated swimming pool, not very deep).
The small restaurant is very good and offers family musical evenings.
It has direct access to the lake: small
Shaded beach where children have fun, activities (pedal boat rentals, towed buoys, etc., trampoline, treetop adventure course 200m away).
You should not expect a campsite with continuous entertainment and noise. It’s perfect if you want to be with your family in peace and quiet.
Finally, we had a renovated apartment for 6 people: top notch! Own.
Comfortable bedding.
The staff is helpful, smiling and answers all your questions.
We recommend this holiday village.

Rooster-and-Chick asked a question Aug 2019
Bournemouth, United Kingdom32 contributions14 helpful votesDoes anyone know whether it is possible to hire adult and children’s bikes locally and if so how much is the cost? Many thanks
Hello, there are hire shops on the corner of the road entering the site, in the resort next door and in Parentis it’s self, I think they are around 100E for a week but there is a website for the ike hire or contact the reception at Les Lac.
Yes, plenty - through the forests and along the edge of the lake.
Plenty of supermarkets within 10 mins by car. No shops on site, a very small on a few minutes walk away. You do need a car, everything is by car unless you just stay on the site.
