Great meals . The staff was very kind and helpful. Room with amazing views. A great money value. Full board is best option in my opinion: huge menu with fish, meat and salad. Yummy starters bay the way. Perfect for a romantic weekend. Possibility of Hiking activities beside.

We arrived earlier than anticipated, which was no problem with the hotel staff. Greeted and felt most welcome on arrival. Completed our booking and went to our rooms. We were placed next door to eachother as requested. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, and spacious, two large twin beds pushed together with crisp fresh linen. Good sized bathroom with large shower, again spotlessly clean and sanitzed. We settled for a while, then went for a walk. That evening ate in the hotel's restaurant. Went for the menu del Dia, and was not disappointed. Huge portions of beautifully presented delicious food. Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and most accomodating. We then went outside for a bit of star gazing, unfortunately the skies were not in our favour, with high winds, so the main reason of our trip was slightly skuttled. But not a shame as we are already planning our return! Slept beautifully in the most comfortable beds. Awaking just in time to make breakfast which did not disappoint. A full buffet of cereals, fruits, hams, meats, cheeses, tomato, serrano, hot bacon, sausages eggs toasts, coffee and juices. All included in the bed and breakfast price! Excellent value for money. Having now left I can only praise the staff at the hotel for their care and attention to detail. The whole experience of staying in a hotel at this time of Covid has been totally safe and secure. They have taken every precaution to ensure everyone's safety. Thank you to everyone concerned for a very relaxing break at a very special hotel.

Room clean and well apointed, rather disapointed no balcony or patio although there were outside areas where you could sit, but a distance from your room. Food was very good and plentyfull staff friendly waiter service with evening meal.Rather unfortunate with the weather masive storm closed the local schools and Alicante airport, however what walking we did manage was enjoyable. Benimaurell village only 250 meters away but down a very steep hill (to be climbed back to the hotel.

The hotel is part of a chain but feels much more like a family run hotel. I have the good fortune to visit many hotels and this one is high up on my list of very good ones. For me there are a number of things which make for a good hotel. These include Location, bedrooms, food and the staff. In my opinion the hotel scores highly in all areas but stands out in one area, the staff !!. Without exception I found the staff to be friendly, helpful and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Lunchtime can appear a bit manic with over 100 people enjoying a noisy lunch (a measure of the standard of food). In spite of working very hard at lunchtime our dinners were still served by a waiter with a smile. Breakfasts are fantastic with a wide choice and variety of food something for everyone, even proper coffee. We were leaving the hotel at 06.45 for our transfer to the airport, no problem our breakfast was ready and waiting for us at 06.00. There are many good quality walks in the area and a real Spanish feel to the village. A stunning view right down to the sea about 15kms away even Ibiza can be seen on a clear day. Closer to hand the mountain views are spectacular with ever changing light. A great hotel in a great location.

A great Hotel with Stunning views down the valley /gorge to the distant coast and surrounding hills. The hotel restaurant was very good and the staff very helpful. There is an out door pool but it was rather cool this time of year so I didn't swim. A steep walk up to the hotel from the village would not suit anyone with disabilities.

Very traditional Spanish hotel Small and friendly. Food very authentic and no chips in sight! Wonderful Paella, wild boar and pigs cheek among many other dishes. Breakfast buffet was plentiful with good selection of fresh fruit each day. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Wonderful walks from the hotel.

A small board on the entrance indicates this hotel as four star. To properly enjoy this hotel it is a good idea to ignore that sign because it is not a four star hotel. What we agreed it is, is a three star hotel in a 5 star location. With dare I say a two star management that misses on the small but important things such as: No offer of help with bags to the room despite it being obvious we had just completed a full day of hiking No lock on the bathroom door which swung free Every breakfast ... they ran out of yoghurt The toaster needed 5 passes to make toast and squeaked like an angry rodent All the staff were very pleasant but nobody seemed to go the extra mile. I really wish I had not seen the 4* level because it raised expectations that the staff and hardware of the hotel did not meet. I do recommend walkers and others to stay here . the view from the bungalow room was fantastic! The dinner was tasty and clearly cooked with care. But a few little touches could make all the difference

Another stay at this gorgeous little hotel. It is set at the top of a valley with stunning views. We went for one of their"bungalows ", which are excellent, with an upstairs sitting area and very private balconies. Staff are very helpful and the food is very good. When we first visited it was difficult to find anyone who spoke English, but more recently they have been hosting a British walking tour company and you can even see a menu in English now! Don't tell too many people about it - I don't want to find it fully booked next time I want to stay!!

The hotel is nice and the surroundings are stunning! Wonderful trails! Be prepared that you will not be able to enjoy quiet nights with open windows - the neighbouring village will likely have fiestas every night playing pretty awful and loud music. Also you need to look for information about trails yourself as hotel staff will most likely give no information (“i do not know” - usual answer).

Never before we have been treated so rude , unwilling and inhuman . We were supposed to have lunch with four of us. We just picked up our friends from the very heavy trail Barranque del Inferno. They were very tired and sweated so wanted a dip in the swimmingpool before lunch. NO! Said the guy at the reception. Only for hotelguests. Friendly we tried to explain again the situation. NO sad the receptionist again. My uncle then was willing to book a room a € 121,— not to sleep but to get the entrance to the swimmingpool. Mind you. Mister Receptionist asked for ID’s. From the 2 guys walking the trail only one had an ID on him. Well guess what. Only he was allowed in the swimmingpool. We exploded by then and left the place and will never come back. How can someone be so inhuman? If you have the flexibillity of the wooden desk you are behind......don’t try to run a Hotel.

Response from At_ClientesHPOSEIDON, Gerente at Alahuar Hotel
Responded 10 Aug 2018
Dear Customer, thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain what happened to the rest of the travelers. I was ahead personally when it was explained to you in a cordial way that the pool may only be used by hotel Guests. You decided to hire a room to enter the pool for 2 people, but those who hired the room were not the same people who wanted to enjoy this service. In addition, we had to endure your inadequate way of addressing us. We deeply regret that you do not understand our standards, but they are standards for the safety of our Customers. Sincerely, Javier Ballester Director
