Breakfast is above average, service is great. Prices are even better: we good two connecting rooms fro 150 euro a night including breakfast.
Diner is regional, it's good but nothing fancy.
Worth a visit!
The impression one gets when entering the hotel is indeed that of a dormitory with long corridors. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The whole hotel was renovated recently. There are TVs in the room but WiFi is for purchase (about 5 €/day). There is no minibar but a small selection of drinks and snacks on a table. The breakfast buffet is good (although there is not too much choice) and the coffee is - as often in German hotels and restaurants - lousy. There should be an espresso maker around, but we were offered the standard coffee. Our son and our labrador were happy with the playground directly in front of the hotel and the gardens around. Prices are around 100 €/night incl. breakfast which is not exactly cheap, but appopriate for the offer.
An abslute must is a visit of the monastery's church which is a jewel of Southern German baroque.
I also ate in the restaurant and found the regional menu full of choice and mouthwateringly tempting dishes. The evening meals, like the breakfasts, were well presented, delicious and good value for money.
The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Faultless in fact.
I'd love to visit the area again in warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful country walks.
The church is a must-see too, of course. Gorgeous.
However the execution was very disappointing. First of all they were not able to deliver the food for a party of four at the same time. This is a no go for a restaurant. Lady person had to wait 6 minutes for food to arrive. That is just not acceptable. The food was just boring and blend. We would have expected a lot more. The hotel is really nice though.
The all experience was perfect- from the reception, the rooms are large, very clean, with high quality of furniture, and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Food in the hotel is superb, all of it came with very low price for the rooms.
The hotel staff was amazing and attuned, showing that German efficiency can come with a smile.
Rooms are moderate but comfort, in food restaurant delicious, staff friendly.
Although the new hotel is a bit "cost effectively" built you just walk 50 meters and you are in a most gorgeous baroque church. The priests were very accessible in terms of history of their order, architecture and local affairs.
a very nice stay if you leave by car to the west from Munich, this is a great stopover to relax.
