Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful monastery complex in a small village. There are various educational institutions and an interesting church. The hotel rooms are rather basic but overall comfortable. Everyone is extremely friendly. The restaurant serves traditional dishes at surprisingly reasonable prices. You're in the country. Breakfast is fine. For a short break or just on the way through (the A7 is not far) highly recommended.

This hotel is quite unique: it is actually a cloister/monastery with hotel and meeting facilities. It is a great location west to Munchen and has a high quality feel. Rooms are big, great beds, modern bathrooms and it's clean.

Breakfast is above average, service is great. Prices are even better: we good two connecting rooms fro 150 euro a night including breakfast.

Diner is regional, it's good but nothing fancy.

Worth a visit!

The Western part of Bavaria and the Eastern part of Baden-Wuerttemberg are the country of some of the most impressing monasteries (and baroque churches) in Germany. It is a green and bucolic countryside and therefore many of the more common structures in hospitality are missing. This is the region where a hotel is very often still the village inn - or the monastery. We were invited to a wedding party in one of the small villages and looked for a place to stay over the weekend. So we found the Klostergasthof which is indeed integrated into the monastery.
The impression one gets when entering the hotel is indeed that of a dormitory with long corridors. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The whole hotel was renovated recently. There are TVs in the room but WiFi is for purchase (about 5 €/day). There is no minibar but a small selection of drinks and snacks on a table. The breakfast buffet is good (although there is not too much choice) and the coffee is - as often in German hotels and restaurants - lousy. There should be an espresso maker around, but we were offered the standard coffee. Our son and our labrador were happy with the playground directly in front of the hotel and the gardens around. Prices are around 100 €/night incl. breakfast which is not exactly cheap, but appopriate for the offer.
An abslute must is a visit of the monastery's church which is a jewel of Southern German baroque.

I recently travelled to Roggenburg for a fantastic wedding and was extremely impressed by the hotel, restaurant and all-round ambience of the place. My double room was modern and comfortable and the breakfast, included in the price, was plentiful and attractively set out.
I also ate in the restaurant and found the regional menu full of choice and mouthwateringly tempting dishes. The evening meals, like the breakfasts, were well presented, delicious and good value for money.
The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Faultless in fact.
I'd love to visit the area again in warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful country walks.
The church is a must-see too, of course. Gorgeous.

We came here expecting to have some great food. The menu looked really good!
However the execution was very disappointing. First of all they were not able to deliver the food for a party of four at the same time. This is a no go for a restaurant. Lady person had to wait 6 minutes for food to arrive. That is just not acceptable. The food was just boring and blend. We would have expected a lot more. The hotel is really nice though.

We made a reservation with not knowing the place, we can say that the hotel should earn more than the 3 Stars.
The all experience was perfect- from the reception, the rooms are large, very clean, with high quality of furniture, and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Food in the hotel is superb, all of it came with very low price for the rooms.
The hotel staff was amazing and attuned, showing that German efficiency can come with a smile.

This is a unique complex of 12 century acting monastery, educational environmental center for kids and a 3* hotel. It is located in a very nice area on the border of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg, with forests, lakes, very attractive for spending relaxed week
Rooms are moderate but comfort, in food restaurant delicious, staff friendly.

The food is excellent, fresh and well prepared and reasonable priced. Even better is the beer brewed by a "sister-cloister of other monks". Service is friendly from the heart.

Although the new hotel is a bit "cost effectively" built you just walk 50 meters and you are in a most gorgeous baroque church. The priests were very accessible in terms of history of their order, architecture and local affairs.

a very nice stay if you leave by car to the west from Munich, this is a great stopover to relax.
