This property is only a 5 min walk to a tram crossroads allowing travel in many directions. it is also right near 2 other tram stops so very convenient. They do not provide any food/room service, but the rooms have kitchenettes so you can prepare your own. It would be great if they could bring back their breakfast option. They do not service the rooms like a hotel does, more as required, or every 3 or so days. My only negative comments is that they could do with some exit Mould in the shower stall.

I had a mixed experience at the Melbourne Metropole Central Apartment Hotel. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely eager to assist with any questions or requests. Their hospitality was definitely a highlight of the stay.
However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness. The pool was visibly dirty, which was quite off-putting, and the most alarming part was the state of the shower. It didn't seem to have been properly cleaned in months — I could actually scratch off a significant amount of scum build-up from the corner of the shower glass with just the back of my nail. This was very concerning in terms of hygiene.
On the plus side, the location was excellent, offering easy access to nearby attractions, and the price was reasonable. I just wish the cleanliness could have been improved, as it really detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.

The hotel itself is kind of like a motel feel, and it's main attraction for us was the location. Only about 10 minutes walk to the CBD and central if you are going out in that area or Fitzroy, Carlton, or Collingwood. It is also well situated for trams which stop about 50 metres away, just outside the free travel zone.
The staff were friendly enough and allowed us to store our bags before and after our check in and check out.
The queen room itself was adequate without being anything special and acceptable for the price.

Mouldy shower, missing smoke detector, bathroom heat lamps and fan don’t work, light over kitchen bench blown, ripped carpet, generally dirty. Filthy balcony with weeds and cigarette buts, worn through to fibreglass spa base, room service non existent. Towels only changed on request once in 7 days.soap dispenser empty. I frequently stayed a few years ago and it was excellent. It is now totally rubbish and won’t be coming back.

I picked this one as it was only a few minutes walk to St Vincent’s, where I had to go at 6am the next day. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, and it WAS cheap. Those are the good points. But there were bad issues. First, trying to book and get the promised discount of nearly $30. I followed the instructions online but somehow it didn’t get applied. So I emailed to ask them to fix it. Instead, the person just cancelled my booking unilaterally. Thanks for nothing, Aida. So I phoned them and this time DID get the booking with discount. The lady was helpful, unlike Aida. So, on arrival I was put in Room 2 on the ground floor. There was air conditioning in the lounge room area but not in the bedroom. The restaurant was closed. They had run out of bottled water. The tap water was heavily chlorinated, but that might be normal for Melbourne - we have beautiful tank water at home so town water is always a letdown. Finally, when I went to bed and tried to sleep I discovered that there was some heavy loud electric motor noise and vibration coming on at frequent intervals, not far from my room. May have been aircon, or maybe the swimming pool pump motors? I don’t know, but it did not make for a good night’s sleep. And as Reception closed at 8pm or 8.30pm there was no way I could complain. So, if you just want “cheap” the place is clean. But I think next time I need to stay in Melbourne I will stay elsewhere.

Good hotel, well located. Obviously connected to the casino and all the riverfront restaurants. Good price mid week for this standard of hotel. Interesting now hotels are offering plunger coffeee included in breakfast but if you want a proper coffee you have to pay.

While I picked this hotel primarily for location, the cleanliness and decor left much to be desired, and I wouldn't chose to stay their again. The bathroom floor had grime and hair along the edges, rubbish left behind the toilet brush which itself needed replacing. Also, mould in the shower grouting, water damage to the bathroom door, a broken blind, food left in the kitchen plug and overall very, very tired and dated. To be fair the sheets were clean and the bed comfortable.

This is the perfect Melbourne location to explore the best of Melbourne- cafes, restaurants, shopping and museums right on your door step. The hotel is clean with generous two bedroom apartments, comfortable beds, free wifi, parking and movies and a pool. My kids absolutely loved staying here- especially the pool and grounds. You really cannot find better in Melbourne- and even the price is appealing!

I have stayed at these apartments many times over the past 10 years. They have been slowly degrading and in need of an update, but the location and free parking have always won me over. However, I stayed for one night in late January 2022 and will not stay again. The reception staff were really great, but the cleanliness of the apartment was not acceptable. My doona had a blood stain on it under the doona cover (not seen until the morning) and there was more mould in the showers than I have ever seen in my life! We also had 2 bathrooms and were provided with one piece of soap for the whole apartment. I have continued with this accommodation as it degraded over time, but I will not be back. A thorough clean and replacement of blood stained doonas would be a first step to getting us back.

We stayed here in May, the first room we were allocated had not been cleaned. We contacted management and were provided another room, all good but the smoke detector was missing. Not perfect but understand we don't live in a perfect world, but they shouldn't have let the room. We visited again today and by chance got the same room, smoke detector still missing with the added bonus of the heating non operable,. Not good enough and actively endangering their patrons lives.

Yes, we do have secure undercover parking, however, you should bring a bicycle lock as at this stage we do not have designated spots. If you have any queries of where to place the bike then please ask at reception
