I have seen some miserable reviews for atlantis and can only put it down to being privelaged people coming over on their isolated holidays with no intent to experience the true culture of burgas. I find atlantis to be very welcoming and friendly. Set in a beautiful location 5 minutes from the beach, it is the full package (if you choose not to venture too far). The restaraunt is absolutely fantastic, serving some lovely sea dishes and good use of local produce. One thing I would like to see better is the cocktails though 🤔. All in all atlantis is a safe bet for a good time on holiday in Bulgaria.

I went to this spa on the last day of my holiday with my partner for a couples massage and to relax and unwind in the spa facilities. Once we entered the salt steam room, because it wasn't very hot, I moved towards to end that was warmest and all of a sudden, a huge shot of boiling hot steam shot out of the wall and directly on to my back. I screamed and realised I was burned 8 inches across my lower back and my skin was hanging off. This absurdly designed pipe was not concealed, as it should have been, and I am now scarred for life. To add insult to injury, the staff's reaction was quite literally surreal. "Yes, it is hot, don't touch" said the front of house man, when I asked what he was going to do. He'd seen my crying and hadn't said a word up until this point. I had to ask him for some medical supplies and he gave me some useless ointment as if I was putting him out by asking for it. Then the manager came, but only once I demanded to see her, and she also didn't offer us a single bit of help. I had to explain to her that this was their fault through my tears and agony and only then did she offer us a bottle of, wait for it, Sangria! She didn't even refund our spa fee, which wasn't cheap. I demanded a refund for the couples massage we were yet to receive, but she didn't even offer that to us for free, as she should have done, so we didn't have it - not that I could have with my burn anyway. No empathy, no help, no responsibility seems to be their motto. Instead she gave us some sliced apple and orange, as if my severe burn would in some way be helped by this. This totally unnecessary and extremely dangerous design flaw ruined the end of my holiday and 4 days later I am still unable to move properly or work. The way the staff dealt with me was truly appalling to boot. DO NOT GO TO THIS SPA!!

A pre-amble is appropriate to get a feeling of the place. I have travelled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America and Asia. I have never met rude and ignorant people such as Bulgarians. Customers are treated with contempt and are a nuisance. The room service was intermittent at best and non-existent at worst. After speaking with disinterested staff after 3 or 4 days a cursory effort was made to clean the room. Toiletries were non-existent and the room smelt of sewage my whole stay (3 months). Prostitutes paraded in and out of the hotel regardless of day of night. The brekfast was dire, cold, unappetizing and and always running out of things. The plates and cutlery hadn't been cleaned property along with the condiments. More like one would expect in a prison. I didn't touch anything unless I used a napkin as a hygiene barrier. There were a lot of Russian guests who don't seem to have any manners or awareness of food hygiene. As for the pool human waste was floating around and so I avoided it. The hotel itself is circa 70's. Drab and in need of major refurbishment. One thing to be aware of is not just the ignorance and rudeness of the people but the constant short changing in shops, everywhere. My advice avoid at all costs. One last thing. No room safes. I know two people who were robbed in their room. Find a good hiding place. Avoid like the plague.

Staying at the hotel of three stars is never like I experienced the last two weeks. The constructions (floors, walls and many other things like furniture) are breaking, lawns uncut and the quality of breakfast low. The personnel, except in the bar couln't have been less interested in serving the clients and the document of paid bill for the room was not available.
