the lady was nice, and we had a dog with us and that was fine but the room well that is an experience that we will not repeat it was cold damp and Mould in the bathroom and carpet in the bedroom. I know this is out of their control but we had state highway one out front so we knew we would have trucks, but we did not know about the main trunk rail at the back, so we got no sleep and left early I think they need to go around and clean the Mould it is not good, and it smells bad but hay I guess if you pay $120 you get what you pay for time for a reno and a new car park I think and maybe some insulation

We were looking for a motel that would accept us and our greyhound. This was the first one we found. The owner was helpful and friendly and told us that he was going to be out when we arrived and that he would leave the key on the table in our unit. he forgot. We were going out for a while, so we just got back into our car and made our visit. He was back when we returned and apologised for forgetting to leave the key. The room smelt musty and we later found out that the carpet had been recently cleaned. Unfortunately, the motel, like several others nearby, backed on to the main trunk railway and the trains passing through were not particularly conducive to a restful night. It might help to be deaf.

sadly cannot silence the trains i could supply ear plugs on request if that would help but i certainly can welcome pets there is a small grass area behind the units and a dog area two minutes walk the carpets are cleaned regular but as noted leave a damp smell for the first day i now have a dehumidifier to combat this this review is now 3 years old i hope you and greyhound are well

We stayed at Amble Inn in August 2013 as part of our North Island road trip. It was terrible. Not only was it outdated, when we had a problem with noisy neighbours having a party in the early hours of the morning, there was nobody onsite to address the problem. We got very little sleep and couldn't wait to get out of the place. I strongly advise anybody to stay well clear of this place. It's taken me a while to write this review as I couldn't even find it in Trip Advisor at the time.

Strong smell of urine in bathroom, unit needs total upgrade, would not recommend this motel. I can now understand why it was the only vacancy we could find in Levin. The local council should inspect these units as they are a disgrace to the town.

Thought I would try the Amble Inn as it was local and I'm a great believer in supporting local businesses. Room smelly, beds were grubby, holes in walls and doors, mouldy window cills, cigarette butts outside the entrance door,I could go on but don't waste your money on staying here. Far better ones up and down the strip.

Unfriendly host, rooms unclean, mouse droppings in kitchen units, old mattresses that smell camouflaged with mattress covers, shower walls broken with holes and just taped up. Breakfast served in unclean dishes. Rats seen at back of units. Would not stay again not worth $95.

I travel a lot and stay in a lot of places, this has to of been the worst.
The units are filthy, cobwebs I had to duck my head to miss going into the room, all over the walls inside. The shower had someone’s hair still on the walls. The side table had a layer of dust on it I could draw a picture, above the doors and windows the dirt and dust was that thick it was falling down. The smoke alarm was missing, the wiring on the heater was falling apart. The place smelt like someone had run through it pissing everywhere.
I felt dirtier after I showered and couldn’t get out of the place quick enough.
This place needs bulldozed.

Not good experience we slept in lounge close to the 3 bar heater it was so cold. Hot water took so long to heat up I gave up. Things falling off and holes everywhere . Surprised a place like this exists still with out some improvements. On a positive note the one staff male manager was pleasant to us .

this review is over five years old i cannot comment on your experience i can however say the units are not damp there is an electric blanket on all beds heaters in all units and the water is heated by gas so instant and constant hot water
