Totara Lodge Motel is situated 5 min walk to the centre of Levin. Featuring quiet one bedroom suites and large studio units to fit every travellers circumstance. All our units have free wireless broadband internet access and 32 " flat screen TV's with 4 Sky Channels. Bathrooms with separate toilet. Five units have cooking facilities in the form of a gas or electric hob and microwave. Our small "overnighter" studio unit has a microwave and tea/ coffee and toast making facilities and fridge. The property is secured by CCTV cameras for your peace of mind. Qualmark 3 star + rating.

Three of us stayed here for 2 nights.
The managers gave us a warm & friendly welcome, even holding an umbrella & assisting my 80 year old mother into our unit, due to our arrival in the dark & rain.
Our unit was older style, but everything was very clean & the gas heater, while somewhat ancient, soon had the room warm & cosy.
Beds were comfortable, shower was great & we were amazed at the quietness.
This motel has been used as emergency housing in the past, however the managers are now in the process of refurbishing. It is nothing fancy, but we would happily stay here again.
Our only negative comment is the strong smell of cigarette smoke near reception, however our unit did not smell of smoke.
The managers are very personable and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed, which was much appreciated.
If you want basic, affordable, clean, quiet accommodation with friendly service, Totara Lodge is the place!

We had great stay with our pet (dog.). Our dog was allowed to stay inside of unit with extra $20. Most of “pet allowed” motel is not allowed in unit. So we are really happy to know he can come in with us. Alex the host provided dog bowl when we check in!
Bed was super comfortable, all amenities are there. Definitely stay again when we visit Levin. Highly recommended.

Lovely owner/manager, made us feel very welcome. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were plump and firm, much to my liking. The room was spotless and the kitchenette was well equipped. My only negative is that the fridge hummed quite loudly in the night and my bed was in the main room so it woke me up a few times. It didn’t bother my roomie, though. There is a beautiful and friendly cat on site who was the highlight.

You need to update your advertising bumpf to include the fact that this is a transitional accommodation facility and that the manageress is an arrogant know-all who cannot be reasoned with. You need to include that the complex stunk of stale cigarette smoke. I booked my wife a studio unit and she was given a room to sleep at least five people. When my wife approached the man at reception and told him that this was not what my husband booked he advised me that what I got was a studio unit!!! I told him I wasn't happy to accept the unit and that I was prepared to forego my deposit. The Manager was on the phone to the "receptionist" and would not hear of this. This Manager then phoned my wife on the phone and starting going on about the deposit and I needed to contact the booking agent. I would not recommend this motel/lodge to anybody.

Older style motel, very good location off main road with all facilities provided including heat pump for cool winter nights. Many fast food outlets & restaurants are nearby. The 1 bedroom unit was spotlessly clean and rate was very good for overnight stay.

Whilst the fittings and furniture are a little tired, the place is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. TV was great, bed was comfortable, and the motel is situated away from main drag, so it was very quiet. Was welcomed and shown to my room quickly, and departure was also effortless. Thank you!

This is a great spot to stay, really convenient for a night stop before or after the ferry. The place was clean, and although it's not flash, there was everything you need in the room. Comfortable beds and REALLY quiet, which is a plus for me as I'm a light sleeper. We found the hosts to be friendly and helpful, and we would stay there again, no problem. Close to shops, restaurant, supermarket all within walking distance

Great place and great customer service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the 9th March. Susan pearl & mark green your motel is lovely, clean and comfortable, after a long drive from Auckland it was lovely to have a great rest at your motel & lots of room for my mother in law with her walking aid to move around. Slept really well - quiet location, comfy bed. Room had everything I needed. Good shower. Very clean. Only thing missing was some milk for my tea. Really good value and location for my trip to Wellington. Happy to stay again .………………………………….
