What an amazing experience I have just had staying at Hopewell. Mike and Lynley are amazing hosts. The facilities outstanding and the location magical. Mussel night was unreal...20 kgs of mussels with a variety of dipping sauces served at the beautiful large table in the covered courtyard. I feel privileged to have experienced the magic of Hopewell.
We have just spent 5 wonderful nights at Hopewell lodge. Lynley and Mike are the most friendly hosts you could wish for. They warmly welcome you with tea or coffee and home baking on arrival and then show you all the activities etc. that the lodge has to offer. We stayed in the cottage which was perfect for two couples. Everything is sparkling clean and the staff are just as friendly as Lynley and Mike. Make sure you try their delicious pizzas and mussel extravaganza you won’t be disappointed. We spent our 5 days fishing, paddle boarding walking the tracks, relaxing in the sun and the spa. There are also kayaks and mountain bikes to use and a 9 hole golf course just down the road. We can’t wait to go back.
We have stayed here before many, many years ago and loved it. Loved it even more this time, as a lot of improvements and many more activities available. A lovely shared Kitchen and Lounge room which was great for meeting and socialising with other guests which we really enjoyed. We had an ensuite room which suited us more than the rooms without, although these were also perfectly fine also, with access to shower and toilets just across the path. We had a great time kayaking around the bays and going for walks around the nearby areas. We got the Hopewell boat across from Te Mahia which saved on a long drive in. Recommend this option. We also had delicious pizza one night and also ordered a foccacia bread and had a couple of coffees also, all prepared by our lovely hosts Lynley and Mike. We can't wait to be able to go back!…
First of all the hosts Mike & Lynley are the most genuine & lovely people you will ever meet. Hopewell lodge has lots of amazing activities, beautiful scenery & awesome facilities. It’s a place my partner & I are already planning our next trip back. 10/10 you must go!
From the moment we arrived after a long winding road along Kenepuru Sound we were warmly welcomed with a coffee and an explanation of the facilities. We had the room with king bed and ensuite which I would recommend. We stayed 2 nights but would have had more had they been available. On the second morning I took one of the dinghies, for a nominal charge and went fishing bring back 3 snapper. One evening Mike did a mussel cook up with mussels in the shell plus deep fried breaded mussels with dipping sauces. I highly recommend Hopewell Lodge for a quiet few days away from the crowds.
