Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed at this place for a weekend night in September 2020. This place has everything which the on-line reviews said.

We had a relaxing and comfortable stay.

The only thing was that there was no Wifi, due to work being done by the company. But that in no way came in our way of enjoying our stay. One can certainly live without wifi for a day!!

We are happy to recommend the Longhouse.

Great value in a quiet country location. Friendly greeting on arrival. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was an unexpected bonus.
The location is very close to lovely Lake Brunner and well worth the drive from Greymouth.

Great place to stay. Very clean. Great helpful hosts. We had a relaxing break and the longhouse had everything we required for our stay. Nice and peaceful location. Great to be able to use the bbq to cook on for dinner. Great value for money.

We booked this place because of the high reviews, the accomodation feels like it is an after thought plonked between the carpark and golf course. They were definitely not normal size suites with a communal TV room, it felt more like a high end back packers. We ended up leaving paying double accomodation in which both Managers told us we would not be able to find anywhere else, this was not the case and we throughly enjoyed our stay at the Lake Brunner Resort in which the rooms sizes are over double the space with lake views! If you are just looking for a place to crash the night that is cheap or you like Golf you will love this place, if you want a relaxing time exploring Lake Brunner I suggest you look elsewhere.

Our friends and ourselves revisited the Lake Brunner Accommodation and Golf Course after having had a superb experience twelve months ago. I am delighted to report that the standards have not slipped, and if anything, have improved. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. We stayed for two nights, and the hospitality was outstanding. We will definitely return in the future.

Our one night here has been fantastic. The rooms are modern and clean. The new hosts Karyn and Rob bent over backwards to make our stay so memorable. We cooked our own BBQ dinner and they even set up the guest lounge as our private dining room - supplying us with plates and condiments, ice for our drinks and anything else we could possibly need.
We did not expect such extra service, but appreciated it very much.
The setting was serene and relaxing. The free game of golf was an added bonus to what was a most enjoyable stay. Highly recommend it to everyone.

This is a great place to stop for a night or two. Small rooms but incredibly comfy beds, modern furniture and a fantastic setting whether you play golf or not. 5 min drive to lake and restaurant. Hosts were so lovely and made us feel so welcome.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and although the weather was poor, the hospitality and comfort were great. The managers were really welcoming. Would stay here again without hesitation. The location is quiet and the "country-style" golf course looks interesting.

Great value for a comfortable room. The host was very accommodating, informative and offered me fresh milk. The bed was comfortable and had as small kitchenette with fridge, kettle and toaster. Free round of golf on their 9 hole course and they offered me free use of their clubs and balls.

My only annoyance was I had the end room next to the carpark and there is a long thin window towards the ceiling with a small slatted wooden blind. At night there was a bright light on outside under the porch which was shining into the room, even with that blind shut which I found annoying and lucky I had my eye shade. Perhaps they can turn this light off after 9pm in future. Thanks
