The room was ok but really only mid level motel quality. Certainly not worth the price asked.

We attended a wedding at the Milk Station and decided to stay as were a of number of people.Our room was small but nice might be a bit cold in winter as only small plug in heater.Very comfortable bed and great shower with plenty of hot water.Room had a small balcony looking over beautiful grounds.What would have been great given the number of people staying was a proper breakfast I would have been happy to pay for this and could have been booked in at check in however instead all we were just offered capsule coffee and croissants pretty poor.

Disappointed there was no wifi.
Bedside reading lights are useless, too far away to be effective.
Quite cold in winter with open courtyard and hard surfaces.
More directional signage would be helpful.
Recent motorway construction made the entrance hard to spot and we had to phone for directions.

Stunning venue with luxury accommodation, grand ballroom and gorgeous gardens. Mainly promote themselves as a wedding venue but we took 40 senior tourists there for three nights and had a fabulous time. Good wifi, Sumptuous continental breakfasts and an outside fire to sit around after our day's activities. It's within walking distance from Otaki shops but felt secluded, and very attentive service from Norbert the manager who couldn't do enough for us and our guests.

Room was nice. Couldn't find check in. Finally checked in out the back. Shown room. Went to function, left party at 11.15pm, entrance to check in was locked. 1/2 hr later found another access thanks to catering staff not affiliated with the venue (no signs-nothing) went to bed. Husband arrives back three hours later whole place locked up....no staff....no access. It seems the staff check you in take your money then do a runner.

Stayed 3 nights during a wedding function. End of summer.
The property and buildings are absolutely charming and work well once you know your way around but with no real reception or visible office it’s quite confusing at first.
We loved the character of the place it’s like an old worldly hotel on a farm.
A little disappointed with service though. I don’t think our room was serviced once actually (we asked for new towels of course)
it’s a perfect wedding venue but really needs to step up the service to match the aesthetics.
As a guest I would have happy spent money on the premises if a bar or cafe or breakfast was available... I hope they add this to the business some day.
Overall I still rate the stay well because I’m low maintenance and it is a lovely place. Would stay again no problem
