Great alternatives that's within touch of Ueno and relatively convenient location. Love the small touches from the hotel. It was raining on the day of arrival, during check-in, staff brought out towels to dry out suitcases and any belongings before you head to your room. Also housekeeping is provided daily. However, if you choose not to, they will leave a bag of amenities and clean towels on your door handle. Nice touch! Room is small but cozy and comfortable. With all the basic amenities that you need. Location wise, even though its not in the heart of Tokyo tourist spots. But its walking distance from JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku Lines from Uguisudani Station, as well as Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line from Iriya Station. Tip: If you hauling luggage and need to take JR from Uguisudani Station, avoid the stairs and there's an elevator on the other side (FamilyMart side) of the bridge crossing (Ryoun Bridge).

Lots to like about this hotel. Very warm and friendly staff, room clean and very cosy vibe, good aircon/heating, convenient laundry room (I got a big load washed and dried in under an hour, which was incredibly handy), and a good location if you're interested in exploring the Shitamachi areas of Tokyo like nearby Yanaka. Also has an amazing view from the roof terrace, which you mustn't miss (just wish they'd advertise its opening hours, because I rushed out of bed to catch the sunrise around 6.30am only to find the terrace door locked shut, which was a real downer!). Could occasionally hear some noise from other guests through the walls, but wasn't a big problem. Definitely recommend.

Landabout's hotel & cafe would easily fit in Harajuku or any modern parts of the city. Instead, it is an unusual and appreciated dot in Shitamachi's Negishi area, all pastel colors, deep carpet and woody counter. Though hardly crowded, the cafe had run out of the only cake they had on the menu. I had the soba ice cream, which was an incredibly tasty surprise. My wife' s drink was barely there: remove the ice and you're left with a straw and a gulp of liquid....At Harajuku prices, that annoys even more... Nice alternative to Ueno or Asakusa.

Great location which enabled easy travel across Tokyo to see all major sights. Staff very friendly - spoke English as well as Japanese. We were able to leave bags in secure storage on day we checked out allowing us to see more of the city. Rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit a little small but the roof terrace on the 15th floor made up for this. WIFI was quick and easy to access and breakfast was ‘build your own’ with a base of either toast or rice. Lovely stay at Landabout, would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is a walking distance from the Uguisudani Station. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. They have a viewing deck at the 15th floor. They also have a laundry area. Our rooms are connected separated by a middle door that can be locked on either side. Although the rooms have no cabinets, they have enough space near the door for your luggages. Foods are available at 1st floor or the nearby restaurants.

The last two times I went to Tokyo, I stayed in a hotel in the residential area of Ikebukuro. The price was very cheap but not close to the station. Landabout Tokyo is a simple hotel with a literary and youthful style. The facilities opened in 2020 are all new. Moreover, it is about 5 minutes away from JR Uigani Station, and there is also an elevator. The key point is that there is a business supermarket across the road, and the prices there are super affordable! In addition, there are many restaurants nearby, so you can have breakfast in the morning or a late-night snack. In addition, the hotel itself has a cafe, and hotel guests will receive discounts. By the way, this hotel has several public rest areas, and our check-in location is on the second floor. The Wi-Fi here is very powerful, and uploading photos to social platforms is very fast. There will be a smoking room, microwave, drink vending machine and coin-operated washing machine on the second floor. The facilities are quite complete. I booked a small double room through Trip.com (HKD 4526.16 / 6 nights) Average price per person per night is around HKD 378, excluding breakfast. The entrance hall is quite large, it can accommodate two luggages, and there is a full-length mirror. Although there is no wardrobe, there are clothes racks provided. The hairdryer was originally hung up. It took me a while to find it, but it seems to be very useful. In addition, there is no table in the room, only a wooden coffee table. However, if you want to use the computer to do light paperwork, it is still possible. The height when sitting on the wooden floor is just right. The mattress of the double bed is thick but not too hard, so it is very comfortable to sleep on. The only drawback is that the bathroom is relatively small, but there is still a bathtub for bathing. The hotel will also provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and other toiletries. If you stay for 6 nights, you will have breakfast at the hotel for one day. You can enjoy the discounted price by showing your room card before paying. Make your original breakfast (JPY 1320) including a drink. Breakfast time is 7-10 o'clock. It feels like a healthy breakfast. You can choose bread or rice, and choose 3 kinds of vegetables + 2 kinds of toppings. Finally, you can choose your favorite sauce and a glass of juice. You can exchange the coupon for coffee or tea, and I've seen how many people eat it. We also offer lunch and dinner, which is open until 10pm on weekdays and later on Fridays and holidays. This hotel has great value for money. Not only is it close to the station, but it's only one station away from Ueno or Nippori. There are also buses that go to Asakusa. It takes about 30 minutes on foot. It should be quite pleasant if the weather is cool.
