As these are effectively apartments with their own facilities (microwave and kettle), "breakfast" is available daily in the foyer for "cooking" in your own room. For our 4 night stay, the options were the same every day: a selection of Japanese dishes or croque monsieur plus a soup - lobster bisque and minestrone (I think). We tried the lobster bisque which came with very large vegetable pieces and even a chunk of what looked like chicken. My issue is 2-fold, 1) the foods are not clearly labelled so if you follow a particular diet you have no chance of finding out what you are eating - or whether you can eat it! As a pescatarian, I had to remove the ham from the croque monsieur and chicken from the soup or go hungry and 2) the thick chunky soups are a bizarre choice for a breakfast option.
My recommendation is not to select/pay for the breakfast in advance (unless this is to your taste of course), there are plenty of small supermarkets nearby to get something else in or coffee shops to eat out.

An amazing location with, the most professional and friendly staff ever seen... Perfect hotel, 10 out of 10 Quality.
The facility is clean and well maintained. The rooms are tiny but well designed. Located near the Shibuya subway station, near many restaurants. Not located in busy districts like Shibuya or Shinjuku, but close to Tokyo Dome attractions.
The hotel breakfast with both Japanese and Western options were terrific.
The price/quality ratio at Tokyu Stay is really good for Tokyo. Internet access is free and there's also breakfast. The breakfast is pretty horrible after a few days, but at least there's okay coffee to be had. The other Toky Stay in Shibuya (Shin-Minamiguchi) offers breakfast in the Jonathan's restaurant which is even worse - it offers horrible approximations of western breakfasts.
The Tokuy Stay hotels are a business-hotel chain and the staff speaks hardly any English. They are not rude, they just dont speak English. Now, if you are in town for business and want to stay in a great location in Shibuya, easy to access, yet quiet, this is a great place. You dont have to dress up fancy to go into the lobby and things like toiletries and drinks are available in the lobby from vending machines. Toiletry stuff is free.
I stayed in a double room, which was okay in terms of size for what you can get in Tokyo. The only problem is that there's hardly any closet space to store your clothes. The place has been renovated in the last few years, so the beds are really comfy and the decor, while yes, basic and a bit bleak, is functional. The work desk is actually comfortable and was spacious enough for two people to use at the same time and the chairs are okay. For work, this place is more than fine.
Yes, oddly, if you stay longer than six days, the room gets cleaned only once a week, but if you stay for less time than that, you get new towels and cleaning every day. Weird. Anyway, I recommend bringing your own towel since the towels at every Tokyu Stay I've been at are super small and thin...
We had fully working, free wifi throughout our stay, so I'm not sure what the complaints are about, probably weaker signal on some floors. We stayed on the sixth floor and had no issues. Ethernet connection is always available and works well.
The hotel is superbly located. You just walk up for about 6 minutes from the Shibuya crossing (Hachiko exit) and get to the hotel. Just next to the hotel, there's awesome restaurants like Evans and the superb Meri Principessa pizzeria, plus a 24-hour convenience store. The bars and nightlife of Shibuya are minutes away. Yet it's completely quiet in the hotel block.
Set your expectations right and you will be very happy with Tokyu Stay Shibuya.
The hotel is a 3-5 min walk from Shinsen station. Google maps is accurate. At Shibuya Station, follow the signs for the Hachiko exit, then look for signs for the Keio Inokashira (IN) line. It’s located in the Mark City building. Catch the local Inokashira towards Kichioji and it’s the very first stop at Shinsen Station.
Washer/dryer combo makes this place completely worth it! Refer to the instructions hanging from the washer rather than the hotel booklet.
We stayed in a smoking room because that’s all that was available when I booked. I have asthma and allergies and I did ok. The room gets a great breeze and the humidifier worked well to minimize the smell.
Hotel staff were all very kind and were happy to speak in English. The breakfast was great since many places are not open before 10 am. Breakfast was a little different each day.
I called later to ask if I can send my luggage ahead, & was told that it’s ok. So I did.
I then called just to get access information.
It took the clerk 30 minutes to get the spelling of my name right, (Judith, not jupi, not jubip etc.)
We spoke in Japanese; it’s only the English letters that were difficult for him to hear over the phone.
After he got my name right he said he didn’t find a reservation at all.
That was that!
So, the situation is that I am in Kyoto, my luggage is waiting for me at this hotel in Tokyo, but I have nowhere to go.
(I had stayed at their Aoyama branch before. The reservation went smoothly the stay was very good. This is why I chose them a second time.)
