Hotel located in a quiet area in the center of Tokyo, used for the last 1.5 days before returning to Europe. Very small room with even smaller bathroom. Sitting on the toilet is not possible for normal height Europeans, only if the door is open.
I was very disappointed. You might as well spend the night in a fallen telephone booth.

This is my first stop at Japan and I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers. This hotel is only 4 minutes walk away from JR Tamachi Train Station (East Exit). Once come out from East Exit, walk straight and turn right into a road junction. Sotetsu Fresa Inn is only few more steps ahead at your left side.

Hotel gives free Shiseido toiletries. Landry at JPY200, Dryer JPY100/ 20 minutes and JPY50 for detergents. They have 2 sets of laundry and dryer so no worries if you have to take turn and use it. Free coffee at lobby 24 hours. If you need to delivery your luggage to Kyoto, the hotel can arrange for you straight to Kyoto Hotel.

Best thing about this Hotel:
1) JR Tamachi Train Station is on the Yamanote Line which is link to almost every where around Tokyo.
2) JR Tamachi Train Station is only 1 stop away from JR Hamamatsucho Station which is link directly to Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal. This Bus Terminal will be the meeting place for most of the tours book through JAPANICAN.com
3) JR Tamachi Train Station is also 1 stop away from Shinagawa Train Station which is link directly to Shinkansen Shinagawa Station. Shinkansen is the fastest way to Kyoto in 2hrs 20min by Nozomi Train.
4) Arrival at Narita Airport. Proceed to JR East Travel Service Center/ JR Ticket Office to buy Narita Express Tokyo Direct Ticket (N’EX Tokyo Direct One-Way) to Shinagawa. Show Foreign Passport to get 50% discount. Will reach JR Shinagawa Train Station in 1 hr. Intervals of train is every 30 minutes. Train fare: JPY 1,500. Upon arrival at JR Shinagawa Station, do not exit the gate. Just transfer to the next JR East Train to JR Tamachi Station (1 stop away). After exiting ticket gate, the ticket no longer be use to re-enter.
5) Arrival at Haneda Airport. Proceed to Haneda Airport International Terminal (Keikyu Line) -- JR Shinagawa Station (JR Yamanote Line) -- JR Tamachi Station (JR Yamanote Line). Train Fare: JPY 410 + JPY 140. Duration: 15 minutes.

Stayed there two nights in July 2013. As others have said the rooms are smaller than is currently fashionable, but there's a big bed, large TV, good wifi, enough space to move around - if you don't plan to practice waltzing in the room, I'm not sure you need more. The bath/shower is indubitably a bit small. Staff are friendly and speak some English. The location is close to Shinbashi station, an easy hop on the suburban line from Tokyo. If you take the Narita express to Tokyo youre ticket will work for there too. There's an inexpensive cafe serving Japanese food with an English menu if you ask. If you crave Western food there';s a McDonalds just up the road.

But if you are new to Japan this might not be the hotel for you. As implied above, quite a few of the instructions are only in Japanese, and the breakfast is miso soup, salt fish, etc. - if you like to follow Rice Krispies around the world, this isn't the place to look. But if you do go there, note how to use the air conditioning (vital at this time in Tokyo) - it's fine when you figure it out. Insert the key in the room holder to get the electrics going, use the middle buttons to set the room temperature and the top button to switch it on, then wait a minute and it'll work.

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights and were really satisfied with the location, space and facilities. Small toilet, but everything works well. Strong shower head, clean toilet, lots of shampoo, conditioner and soap available. Room is cleaned everyday. Curtains block out the sun really well soyou can get a really good nights sleep. Great location. 5 mins walk from Tamachi station, which is on the Yamanote line- extremely convenient. Trains come past every 5mins to take you around the main spot in Tokyo. Delicous Japanese breakfast available for 500Â¥. Good coffee right around the corner. Really fast wi-if too. Staff friendly and can speak some English.

This was my 2nd experience at a Sotetsu Fresa Inn group of hotels. Located barely 5 mins away from the Tamachi Station of the Yamanote Line, this hotel is certainly well-located and value for money.

I stayed in this hotel in the 3rd part of my trip. This hotel is located near Tamachi station (about 5 mins walk) which is on the JR Yamanote line. The station is just a stop away from the Shinagawa Station for the N'EX trains and shinkansen. For the price paid and location, this hotel is definitely value for money.

I stayed in a semi-double room and as expected based on a previous stay in a Sotetsu Fresa Inn hotel, the room and toilet were small. It is good for 1 person but will definitely be very tight for 2. I am not sure about the sizes of other room types so I suggest you check with the hotel before booking if you are looking for something more spacious. Otherwise, the room is good enough, with all required amenities. TV is however lacking in English channels. If you need iron and ironing board or any other amenities not available in-room, you will have to ask from the reception and carry them up to your room yourself. Staff at reception were polite and helpful. The hotel also provide free tea bags, bath salts, bath sponge at the lobby - take as many as you want/need.

I booked room only without breakfast. However not to worry as there are convenience stores and cafes for you to get a quick bite before starting your day.

The rainbow bridge to Odaiba is nearby. If you want to go to Odaiba, you have the option of catching the Rainbow Bus from the stop outside Minatoshibaura Post Office. You might want to check with the hotel on the bus schedule and route.

I'd definitely consider this hotel again if travelling alone.

This was our home base in Tokyo. It is only a few minutes walk from Yamanote line. The room was small but clean. They provide toiletries, but they aren't that great, but better than nothing. They will also provide water bottles if you don't need clean sheets. They also provide slippers and pjs. Their wifi wasn't working for most of our stay, they finally issued a letter about the wifi situation after a few days. The hotel is located near a coffee shop where we had breakfast. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel but it satisfied our needs. Our room was right in front of the elevator but this was not a problem at all. They also provide free tea bags in reception, sponges and bath salts/poweders.

I stayed there for 4 nights. The location is very good, near JR yamanote line Tamachi station only 5 mins walk. There are escalators up and down at this station so I did not have a problem with my big luggage. Also, Tokyo Metro station is next to JR Tamachi just cross the road. Around hotel, there are many restaurants, mini mart and also drugstore that sells local cosmetic brand. Hotel staffs were friendly. However, hotel room is quite small. Bathroom is ok, they provide everything you need. Overall this hotel is good for traveler who dont want to spend much on hotel.

I've been to Tokyo a few times now, and every time have stayed somewhere near the yamanote line. This place was great, very close to the station and in a town that was quiet, had all the usual conbini's/delicious food stores/supermarket/bars to visit without it being overcrowded. The hotel was quiet, a little small but not a problem when we basically used it for sleeping and storing our bags. Bathroom is very small, not a big difference to most of the hotels in Japan though, and the bed was good. Had breakfast nearly every morning in the hotel, very cheap and yummy. A standard Japanese style breakfast and varied every morning. Staff were lovely, some spoke english but very easy to speak to in Japanese as well.

Small 'corner shop' across the road selling basic needs.
