We spent five days at the Belken and it met our needs.

It was nice seeing staff at the reception and having questions answered (even if mostly via Google translate)! They even helped arrange a taxi to take us and all our luggage over to Tokyo Station.

The rooms were reasonable in size for a single. I had a view of the expressway but the room was well insulated for sound but at least it was a real window with a view of something.

The bathroom was good for a single and sufficed for our stay.

My room was serviced each day but if I opted out then I received a bottle of water.

In the lobby they had coffee, tea and water all day. There were maps of the area along with some brochures. Chairs and window seating were nice along with outlets for charging.

We walked everyday towards the Takashimaya department store for the Nihombashi subway entrance or Tokyo Station.

I would consider coming back in the future. The floor numbers mounted on the outside of the hotel made it easy to find out way.

Stayed for a night.
Approx 15 min from Tokyo station easy walk, 3 min to convenience store, 6-7 min to coffee shops for breakfast. Free coffee & water at 1F reception area.
Room was clean, bed was bit too soft and pillow was very hard.
Quite reasonable for this area.
Receptionists were nice and supportive.

Belken would have been great at regular price but at the discounted rate I got for my last-minute room it was a total score. It's about a 5-6 minute walk to Tokyo station which I was able to do easily w/ my luggage. I was just there for one night and wanted something near Tokyo station so I could more easily take an early train and Belken worked out great. The hotel is brand new so everything was just perfect. Room was modest but in my experience on the larger side (of small) for a Tokyo hotel room ;-) I would stay here again without hesitation.

Just checked out from this hotel. Cant wait to give some quick comments to save other light sleepers.

Its a last minute booking. I picked Belken simply because it was within my budget for weekday overnight stay. Location appears not bad too. It turned to be one of my worst (sleeping) experience in tokyo....

Cons: Small room (12.5 sqm) as expected. Too small for 2 persons especially with tourists with large lugguage.
Noisy aircon: despite being a 1-year old hotel, the air con is very noisy even it's set at weak.
Traffic noise at midnight: u will expect traffic noise because the hotel is located right next to a toll road. Light sleepers should definitely stay away from this hotel.

Location: its around 5 mins walk from the nearest metro station. You can access the hotel from both Narita and Heneda airport without interchange via Keisei Sky Access. However, if u plan to commune with mostly JR, this hotel is not an option. It takes 15 mins to walk to Yaesu exit. Bear it mind that it still takes u another 5-10 mins to walk to JR gate. The merit is there are plenty of eateries at Yaesu exit. 3-mins walk brings u to a local supermarket (located at main street).

Pillows: not standard pillows you will find in a japanese hotel. Kinda hard and not so comfy for me. But i like the firm mattress.

Pros: most efficient check in (1 min) and check out. No bottled water...but free pantry counter at the lobby.

Would not recommend

This hotel is in a decent location (nothing lovely - it's right next to an expressway). The rooms are a little worn, but ok. We are not fussy and in these basic respects the Belken did the job for us.
That said, our overall experience was not good. If there is any chance you need anything from your hotel other than the bare minimum then I would steer well clear of this threadbare option. I arrived after a 12-hour flight from Europe (i.e. jetlagged). Unfortunately (and unexpectedly) I had a fractured bone in my face following a fall on frozen ground a few days before (something which was only too obvious - much bruising, etc.). My girlfriend who booked the hotel had confirmed that I could check-in upon arrive (she has an email with this). However when I arrived they would not let me check in. The staff were unhelpful. I had arrived at 1pm, and their checkin time was 3pm. They wanted copies of my passport etc at 1pm, they just did not want to let me get some rest. There was no "we'll see if a room is ready" or any such thing. They had their rule and that was what was important (as the checkout time is 11am there was almost certainly at least one room available). We faced a similar experience when we asked them to keep a piece of luggage for us while we travelled around Japan. They would not do it. We had stayed 3 nights, but that did not matter. Again, they had their rules. Luckily we had a second hotel booked for some of our time in Tokyo (which turned out to be better in almost every way - and cheaper). The other hotel was only too happy to keep our bag (and even kindly put it in our room prior to our arrival, without our having to ask). We had an extra trip to drop the bag over, but it was actually worth it just to end our association with the unfortunate Belken Hotel at the first opportunity.
You never quite know what you will need from a hotel. If you need anything beyond the absolute minimum, this hotel may frustrate you rather a lot (as it did us). The Belken was a very poor start to our time in Japan. Luckily may of the other hotels we stayed in were fantastic (so it was just a case of one bad egg).

The hotel is in a fantastic position, very central in Ginza. Service is ok but the level of English of people at the reception is low.
Rooms are very clean but too small, there is no space! Air conditioning in the room is too strong and too much close to the bed

Exceptionally friendly service, even for Japanese standards. Rooms small but well equipped. New hotel with modern design. Only negative aspects: no wardrobe in room, no breakfast service, just one elevator.

This was a repeat stay at the hotel but for three nights this time. The location was close to Nihombashi Station, Exit D1. I had early train out to Haneda and came in on Shinkansen train to Tokyo Station. The walk from Tokyo Station was manageable with an airline checked bag with one rolling suitcase and two carry on bags. I liked staff who were helpful and courteous on both stays. The hotel was quiet, despite location near busy motorway, so building was well insulated for sound. Rates were good so value was very good. Hotel has basics and does modest accommodation very well with good value

We checked in on 16 dec n at 8.15 am the next day, there was a loud announcement regarding fire 🔥 on the 11 floor. I was awaken by the announcement and woke my family. Saw the fire engine came and I went down to check with the concierge whether we need to evacuate but he said is a false alarm. After the fire engine left, there is only announcement in Japanese but nothing in English. I saw quite a lot of foreigners staying there and I think simple English announcement should be made.
When we were checking out, the lady at the front desk were not friendly and told us check out using the machine. They never even bid farewell.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights from the 20/10/2019 to the 23/10/2019. This hotel is in a good location from Tokyo station, it is only about a 15 minute walk which is convenient when needing to take a train to your next destination on the JR line. However it is about a 20 minute train ride away from the main sight seeing attractions in Tokyo.
The staff were friendly enough, we were able to check in 15 minutes earlier than check in time. Our wifi package that we ordered was provided to us on arrival.
Our room was small, bed and pillows were comfortable. The room is quite warm so you may need to use the air conditioner. You receive one free donut on arrival and they're delicious.

Is any storage for luggage n smoking area in this hotel?
Answer from John H
Melbourne, Australia168 contributions15 helpful votes
Yes the staff were very helpful with storing luggage. I am not a smoker and I don’t recall seeing a smoking area within the hotel. It is a very small hotel and I saw people smoking out the front. Given how expensive the whole of Tokyo is accomodation wise, this place was good albeit the rooms are very small. I would stay there again having experienced the prices within Japan. Cheers
