Limited staff with English, limited knowledge of local area and/or sightseeing.
Limited on room extras - wanted a 1/2 day or late book-out (our QANTAS flight was to leave Haneda at 10 pm). Charged me a FULL night's rate. Asked for laundry service (public holiday) and unable to do so. Has a laundry (on floors 6 and 10), we used but no hotel staff help and couldn't get things to dry. Asked for a knife to peel an apple and was told "we don't have them, too dangerous" ?
Worth a stay if (only) short-term, u want room and nothing else.
The room rate had gone up considerably but the service standard had not slipped. The universal twin room I stayed in was very clean and functional. The complimentary breakfast, however, did not change much. It would be nice if they could revamp the breakfast menu to include more varieties of bread as well as hot dishes. I don’t think the guests would mind paying for a more sumptuous breakfast? The coffee was just bland and tasteless. It was just hot water to me and didn’t taste like coffee at all.
The front reception staff were polite but most could not communicate well in English. I asked about booking a taxi to the Haneda airport in advance but such a question stumped one of the ladies there. I could see that she was totally uncomfortable talking to me. My question was left unanswered of course. Notwithstanding the above this hotel is great for sightseeing and for its close proximity to Tokyo station, Kyobashi subway station and Ginza. I am grateful to the ones from the hotel who responded to my email enquiries so quickly and also for helping to make the room reservation. I would still recommend this hotel to those who don’t mind paying extra for the location.
—Convenient location to/from Tokyo Station. If you arrive by train it's easiest to find your way to Yaesu Central Exit and walk above ground, the hotel is a short distance away (cross the street, straight walk, turn right, and straight walk to destination), not a problem with suitcases
—The room is tiny (tiniest out of the many hotels we stayed at in Japan during our trip) but was spotless and in new condition. There are USB outlets next to the bed so you can charge your phone if you don't have a Japanese plug. Would recommend this hotel for sleeping and for the convenient proximity to the station, but not if you plan on spending time in the room
—We were greeted well by front desk staff, they speak a little English and will use Google Translate if needed
CONS
—Check-in time is 3pm, they charge 2,200 JPY for every hour earlier (starting from noon)
—Although we managed to cram two large suitcases into the room, it was for sure claustrophobic and left us no floor space. In a perfect world, a tiny room like this would be equipped with smart solutions for storage and luggage, perhaps luggage racks that fold down from the wall, etc.
—The room door isn't soundproof so the hallway can get noisy. We could also hear some noise from adjacent rooms, voices were muffled but we would hear the headboard of the room next door creak every time someone leaned against it
—The double bed is very small and firm. Only one small pillow is provided per person, since the top of the headboard has an overhanging ledge, you're unable to sit on the bed and lean against it unless you use two pillows as back support (meaning, two people won't be able to sit against the headboard at the same time)
—Breakfast buffet was a bummer as it had little to choose from and basically no variety, if you stay longer than two nights, you'll be over it. They also close breakfast at 9:30am which is very early for a hotel
Wondering why although we pay the rooms everyday but the rooms are not cleaned every day and the bottled waters are not given every day.
and you need to be extra careful and aware because we lost an iphone cable in the lobby so we asked the hotel to check the cctv, and they found who took it and luckily we got it back
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, other than that is none
The bed was hard and not comfortable. Breakfast was largely Japanese style though one one could get coffee with croissant or bread. In all it was okay for the price and convenience of the location.
Only a small room with small bathroom but nice and clean and comfy enough. Slept well in the firm bed .
Room rate included breakfast which on the first morning was quite adequate, not a lot of choice but ok.
The second morning was a disaster, when we walked in nearly every food bowl was empty and it was busy.
People were waiting for food to be brought out, I have not come across that before.
Maybe they were short of staff.I surely hope there was a good reason for it , as it was we just had a very limited breakfast, had what was available.
The one staff member in the area was literally running, she was doing a good job under the circumstances .
Apart from that our stay was ok
