Adding to my earlier answer: Swimming pools are pretty much limited to 4-5* hotels in Tokyo and many of them don't allow children.

I don’t recall a specific amount being charged - rather I believe that they simply swipe your card on checkin just in case any additional items need to be charged at the end of your stay and then you pay what ever is he... More
