INNSiDE by Meliá Alicante Porta Maris stands out for its tranquil atmosphere and prime location, with guests frequently lauding its proximity to the beach and city attractions. The hotel's amenities, including the spa and breakfast options, are often highlighted positively, although some visitors mention the spa can be costly. While the staff's friendliness is acknowledged, there are occasional notes of understaffing. Rooms with sea views are a hit, but guests suggest standard rooms are basic and recommend upgrading. Cleanliness is a strong point, yet opinions on value are divided.

Fabulous location for a trip to Alicante! We had a marina view junior suite which was very spacious and the bath tub overlooking the view is a lovely touch. The bed was sooooo comfortable and believe me we are fussy!!

Breakfast was very nice in a fabulous location with views of the sea and never felt too rushed or crowded. Excellent range of cold meats, cheese, vegetables and eggs along with hot items and a varied selection of breads, cereals and cakes. Several juices on offer along with Cava ( you’re on holiday after all) !!

Staff around the hotel are friendly and the overall hotel is spotlessly clean

We had fabulous weather whilst there so enjoyed the pool on the first floor which had comfortable sun beds although it took us a while to locate the cushions for the lounger and after asking reception staff they didn’t seem to know either !? until a maintenance man was located. For info they are in a cupboard inside the sunarium next to the pool 😂

Lunch meno and room is a little pricey but only used this once during our stay as we were out and about most of the time.

Will definitely return.

Just back from a two night stay in this wonderful hotel by the sea for my partner’s 40th birthday. Stayed in a Premium Sea View room on 5th floor, which had a balcony overlooking the pool area located on the first floor (that we had access to with our room type) & wonderful sea views for the sunrise/early morning sunshine.
Used the spa facilities for the 90mins on our first day as weather was slightly overcast, which we got for €45 for the two of us (they offered a 10% discount to us on arrival) & really enjoyed the plunge pool, steam rooms & sauna etc.
We booked breakfast which had a fantastic variety of hot/cold, sweet/savoury foods & found staff very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel is kept immaculate throughout.
Noticed the suites across the way had a bigger balcony, so if that’s your thing, then definitely would recommend the upgrade.
Location is perfect, right next to the beach, across from the harbour and a short walk across the road brings you up into the old town which is bustling with lots of lovely restaurants and shops. Absolutely loved our stay & will definitely be back!

First of all: This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel, but times are changing and unfortunately this was the last time. Checking in is easy and normal, but not friendly or courteous and the staff were really not on the ball. There are a lot of problems in the very expensive family rooms with a sea view (2 nights 1156 euros). The TV in the living area was broken and was not repaired even when asked to room service. The toilet lids on both toilets are completely broken and damaged. There is a risk of injury in sensitive areas!!!" The bathroom door handle has fallen off and was not repaired or even fitted on the second day - the door handle was clearly visible on the sink. In general, the look is showing its age. The saddest thing, however, is the breakfast buffet. Terrible. The fried eggs are just inedible and bad. Even when we asked, no employee made any effort to help us. You have to eat breakfast in the lobby because the dining room was overcrowded. Most of the hot dishes were cold, but this did not prompt any employee to be more helpful, energetic or friendly. All in all, a breakfast buffet to forget. I won't mention what three glasses of the simplest Cava cost here because it really is enough. In other Melia hotels where I have been a regular for 20 years, I have also received a glass of Cava for free instead of 2-3 coffees, which I don't drink. When I checked out early in the morning at 7am, I was charged for breakfast and something inexplicable even though it was included, but I didn't want to have to deal with the discussion about this time and I paid the bill. This hotel only scores points because of its top location right by the sea and the harbour, which is very sad because I was there twice during the Corona period and it was something special and really good. Otherwise, I can no longer recommend it!!!!

We spent four nights in a junior suite with a view of the marina for a birthday. The suite is very spacious, around 50 square meters with separate living and sleeping areas, each with a TV. A coffee and tea maker is also available. The suite has two small balconies. We would have liked an outside handle on the balcony door, as there was a risk of injury if you had to open the door from the outside.
The view was very nice, as described in the pictures.
What bothered us was that the sink/shower and bathtub area was not separated from the rest of the room. A privacy screen would have been useful. The design was probably the priority here, and the use was a little neglected.
The cleanliness of the rooms was positive, the staff greeted us in a friendly manner and were helpful. The hotel is also very centrally located to the old town and the airport bus stops right at Plaza Puerta del Mar.
We booked half board. The breakfast is very extensive and there is something for every taste. On the first floor you have a beautiful view of the sea and possibly the sunrise. Dinner was served in the Aguamarina bistro. Here you could choose from a special menu (not a buffet). The food was very good, but the menu did not change while we were there, so the choice was limited.
We did not use the spa due to time constraints - we did not like the fact that there is a charge for it despite the very high room prices and that access is also time-limited.
Overall, we felt very comfortable in the hotel and enjoyed our stay.

The suite was large and airy. The balconies were a great way to chill in the evening or when waking up slowly each morning.

AC was available separately for each room as was a TV (catching some of the football before heading out for the evening). The bath just inside the bedroom balcony was an added touch of luxury when it came to unwinding while there was a separate shower. The coffee machine helped too.

The bed was excellent and reminded me of mine at home. At home, I would have slept on longer, but this view each morning, through the balcony, give me a great reason to get up and start another chilled day!

Breakfast was relaxing with a view of the sea, coast line and public beach. The usual bread, cheese, meats, hot foods, yoghurt, fruits, nuts, etc was on offer along with the Nespresso machine for coffee on tap. That being said, the choice of orange, carrot an ginger juice at breakfast was a welcome opening to the day.

The pool area was never really busy and there were no sunbed hoggers in sight! All in all it meant a quiet relaxing time with plenty of sun from 9am until about 4.30pm/5pm.

I met the same couple on my return flight and their comment said it all. I looked like I had a really relaxing and enjoyable week long break!

Dear EddieCon, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your words truly warmed our hearts! We're thrilled to know that our suites provided the perfect setting for relaxation and unwinding. It's delightful to hear that you enjoyed the spaciousness and airy feel of the suite, and that the balconies offered serene moments, whether it was in the evening or as a peaceful start to your mornings. We're glad the amenities, from the separate AC and TV to the luxurious bath and separate shower, added that touch of luxury you were looking for. And the coffee machine—what a delightful addition to complete the experience! Your appreciation of our breakfast with the view of the sea and coastline brings us joy. It's wonderful to hear that our offerings, from the usual fare to the Nespresso machine, added that extra something special. The choice of the orange, carrot, and ginger juice seems to have been a refreshing way to kick-start the day! We're delighted you found the pool area a haven of peace, with ample sunshine and a lack of overcrowding. Knowing that you had a truly relaxing and enjoyable break warms our hearts. We stayed four four nights and there’s positive and there’s needs work.

Positives: we had a suite and appreciated the second bath.
The foldaway bed was already made up for our son when we arrived—something that has never happened at any hotel and a touch we appreciated.
Breakfast was excellent.

Needs improvement: as another guest mentioned the covered pool it is not heated. It does not say anywhere on the website that it is unheated, and the majority of pool pictures show the spa pool, don’t specify that is the spa pool, and that it is an extra fee.

There are clubs across the street and unfortunately, our room overlooked them. They start up anywhere between 10pm and 12:00am and go for HOURS. Unless you are a sound sleeper you will absolutely hear them—yes there may be soundproofing on the windows but you still hear the bass until 6 in the morning. In this vein, expect to hear any movement whatsoever in an adjoining room—people slamming doors, shutting drawers, moving furniture. All these things sound like they are happening right next to you.

As a note our room did not really resemble the site pictures—door handles were broken, there were no table lamps/task lighting in the sitting area, the laundry drying apparatus in the main bath was not functional. Most of the furniture has big chips out of it—largely aesthetic things but still had an impact. Also, no outlets whatsoever for charging modern electronics.

The location is lovely and the food quite good—soundproofing and a little TLC with regard to fittings and maintenance would really elevate it.

We’ve just returned from a 3 day break to Alicante and we stayed in this hotel. Overall we are very happy with our stay here the room was lovely clean and comfortable as was the hotel itself, the staff were friendly and helpful.
It wasnt overly busy so there wasn’t ever a mad dash for sun loungers around the pool either. Breakfast was good but by day 3 it was a bit the same, drinks are pricey.
We used the spa on day 2 and had our 12 year old with us and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it, it was so relaxing with lovely clean modern facilities, and not a bad price of €25 pp

We had a leak from our shower on day 2, I phoned reception and it was fixed and cleaned up within the hour 👍🏻

This hotel is a great location close to all the bars, shops and beach. It’s about 20/30 mins from the airport on the C6 bus that runs every 20 mins.

Thxs for a wonderful stay I’d definitely recommend

We checked into the hotel today and the hotel is in a nice central location.

Unfortunately, check-in did not go smoothly. The hotel officially states that the check-in time is 4 p.m., but since we arrived at 12:30 and would have liked to have a shower in the heat and had other appointments, I asked directly when booking to get a nice room with a good view and subject to availability, which otherwise worked well as a Meliá Gold member. Unfortunately, none of my requests were met here. Instead, they tried to sell a late check-out for €30, which would be free until 2 p.m. as a Gold Member (account stored in the app when booking) and without early check-in anyway.

The room is large, with a sea view around the corner, relatively dark and very, very shabby and even dangerous, with screws coming out, etc.

The door handles fall apart when you pull on the doors and they look like they have been put back together 20 times.

When you get to the bathroom, the water in the sink doesn't drain, even if the drain is generally open. You have to put your fingers in the wastewater and pull the plug out completely to empty the sink.

Otherwise you'll find loads of other people's hair, boogers and other dirt in the bathroom, including on the towels.

Really disappointing and as a regular Meliá customer I've never experienced such a standard, and that in what is actually such a great location.

Just returned from a 7 day holiday at Suites Del Mar. We have visited this hotel many times and have always found the services facilities and the location excellent. However on our recent visit we were very disappointed with a few of the changes that have been made after the recent upgrade work completed at the first floor pool area. The smaller pool and sun bathing area is now not exclusive to Suites Del Mar guests and now feels crammed and is hard to get a sun lounger which meant we ended up going to the beach most days. The breakfast area that has been moved from the first floor where Suites Del Mar guests used to eat which has now been moved outside the dining area on the ground floor again does not feel exclusive even if there is a small menu on the table which allows you to order an omelet or the choice of another few items.

Don’t think it was worth the extra cost for the room at Suites Del Mar when the equivalent room at Spa Porta Maris costs a lot less. It would have been nice to be informed about the changes prior to our visit this year ..

There is a bus right outside the terminal (bear right as you leave) which costs €2.8 for a single ticket and takes about 30 mins. The nearest stop is at a roundabout at the marina and its then a 3 minute walk to the hotel. You catch the bus at the same place back to the airport as it runs on a loop. We got there early and they checked us in but we couldnt have the room until later so they put the luggage behind reception and called us when the room was ready. We went for a walk and chilled out.
