Finally at the hotel at 1.30pm so it only took us 4hours to get there!!!
The reception was very clean, was directed to our room, it was clean and tidy! The pool area was empty with only about 6 beds full, and the pool was freezing, so cold you couldn’t really swim in it for to long. Wondered down to the nearest shops was about a mile and took a good 15-20mins. There are a few bars and restaurants there. We ate in the hotel restaurant the first day not knowing how much it was, it turned out to be 14euros each, and was terrible, just awful fatty foods and was in total shock at the bill would have walked out if it wasn’t our hotel! So avoid to the max!
Down the road there was a mega friendly English bar called JPs, so helpful, friendly and hold some really good fun evenings, we went down every morning for breakfast to find out what to do that day. There wasn’t anything in the area you had to catch a taxi everywhere, so on our last 3days we rented a car, but do not go out without a map! We found a really fabulous Chinese restaurant in Torre, only 9euros all you can eat, and make your own dishes it was amazing we went back a few times! In a car was only about 5mins, but a good 50min walk! But defiantly worth the time to go there.
We went into Cadaroy, a good 40min walk, but it was a lovely walk, along the beach and around the harbor, we went a few times it’s a nice strips of bars and restaurants. We went into bushwhackers which is really Australian bases and really good food with massive portions. Also sunrise which is excellent for fine food and a reasonable cost we went there a few times and was more then happy every time, defiantly a recommendation. We watched Stevey s in Flammingos, if you don’t like drag, still go it was a funny night he was really good. Go to Orihuela but stay somewhere more with in town or rent a car for the whole duration because its not worth getting stuck in the middle of no where, its not worth it! I woud not go back to Palmera beach as of its location!
Like other apartments in the area and in Spain in general, these had nothing out of the ordinary but they did have was a lovely welcoming feel, a great location and the staff had gave us everything we needed for the whole stay which really made our stay easy.
I would use the apartments again if I stayed at Mil Palmeras but the village itself isn't going to be hardcore enough for some stag doos. For us however it was excellent indeed...
All in all we had a very lovely stay there .
The reception staff were very nice and assisted us with a map and useful numbers.
It's very close to the beach which looked lovely

Would reccomend to anyone, Mil Palmeras is a jewel in the Spanish Costa’s
Beach was directly behind the hotel which was perfect! Although the only way down to the beach was a huuuge set of steps which is very exhausting especially on the way back up... not ideal for people with poor mobility.
The closest supermarket was a 15 minute walk away, which was longer than we expected! This is also where the nearest restaurants and bars are. The hotel itself is in a very quiet area, a bit out of the way! There is not much going on.
We chose the self-catering option, which was fine. We chose to eat at the hotel restaurant one day for lunch. It was 90% seafood which I personally loved however my mum has a huge allergy to seafood so she was quite on edge. Especially because there were no labels on the buffet at all.
There was constant entertainment for children throughout the days and evenings. 2 members of staff would play pool games in the day then put on a show in the evening, it was very lovely to see! However, the entertainers spoke Spanish as all of the other children were Spanish. My younger sister felt left out at times as she was too shy to join in and scared that she wouldn't understand the game dues to the language barrier. Towards the end of the week, the entertainers realised that my sister did not speak spanish and they began to speak to her in english, explaining the rules of the games. They also learned her name and really made her feel included which was so so lovely. They were fantastic at their job and were so great with all the children.
Overall, our stay at the Palmera Beach Hotel was great and just what we needed. However, if you are looking for somewhere with a busy atmosphere and a lot of English tourists, this may not be the place for you!
The room had two separate bedrooms which was ideal for us and our 2 boys. The room was a little tired but it was kept spotlessly clean with plenty of towels provided. It had cooking facilities, a fridge, microwave and sink.
Breakfast had pretty much everything and was pretty good overall.
The staff were always helpful and friendly and could not do enough to help. We had a couple of problems with the shutters in our room on two separate occasions and these were fixed within an hour which is outstanding in our experience.
We were surprised to find entertainment laid on occasions during the day and evening as we did not see this on any reviews. There were also quiet times. Victor, the main entertainer, was outstanding and had more energy than I have seen in someone for a long time. The entertainment and games laid on were good fun but mainly in Spanish which was fine as he would also translate for us as needed. The one big problem was that it went in until nearly midnight and if you had a pool facing room, like us, then you are unlikely to be able to sleep. We asked to move room 3 times without success. In the end we just got on with it!
Finally there was the usual problem with sun beds being reserved despite the numerous signs saying it wasn't allowed, although the times we turned up we always found something.
