Wayalailai Ecohaven was the last stop on our Fiji travels and it was a great place to end our trip! All the staff members were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel like family. We enjoyed all the live music and fun conversations and we were really happy to support one of the remaining local community owned resorts in the Yasawas. Food was delicious, beds/bures were comfy and clean, and they offered a nice variety of activities including a Fijian culture night. Be sure to ask for the Bula dance!! We highly recommend Wayalailai Ecohaven!

We were absolutely charmed by Wayalailai and the wonderful people who make their community and culture accessible to guests at this resort. The bures are as sweet as pie - beautifully built and decorated - while being simple and unpretentious. The kids had a blast with Joshua and others - making banana leaf crafts and shell jewellery. Each night's meal was accompanied by a small group of musicians serenading guests with popular tunes as well as Fijian folks songs. There was heaps to do and my husband and son said the swimming with sharks experience was amazing. Loved Wayalailai and will definitely be back!

Wayalailai is a must for me when I visit Fiji! Prices are so reasonable considering what you get here. All three meals are included in booking, and the food is really good! The beach and the views are amazing, I could sit on the hammock all day at the wayalailai beach. But the best part of all are the people! They really do treat you like family. I have been to this resort 5 times and I will continue to come back!

Absolutely amazing! Wayalailai has been the pinnacle of my holiday in Fiji. The team is absolutely outstanding and will make sure you have the best holiday possible. Teaching about Fijian culture and coconut weaving techniques. Enjoy amazing meals during beautiful live music by dear friend Joshua Beautiful island, a hike up to the top of the mountain guided by Nassau is 100% worth it, no better views in Fiji. The bures were beautiful, comfortable and clean, don't mind having only cold showers available with the beautiful weather. Electricity is not 24/7 on but no electronics are needed on this island with endless activities to enjoy. Having to say goodbye to this family definitely made us all shed a tear and I miss them already. I hope I will be back next year to be reunited with them. Vinaka! Sota tale!

This place is a literal oasis! My friend and I stayed here just last week and it was the most magical experience. Everyone working there is so lovely and friendly and totally cater to any activities we wanted to do. They brought us to the local village at a different spot on the island where lots of people who work at the resort are from. The food was also gorgeous and with a stunning view and with a shared table which meant we got to chat and meet some wonderful guests. Our last day we did the hike at the back with spectacular 360 views. It was a very hard place to leave! Highly HIGHLY recommend any one to visit here if you can!

This was a very special place and experience. The most authentic experience we had in our two week traveling. We loved every minute of it. gorgeous location, owned by a Fijian and family and the local village. Absolutely stunning reef. The best we have seen. They serenaded us at each home-cooked meal. We drank kava together, and just got to know these folks as family. Activities included reef shark snorkeling, local snorkeling, village tour, sunrise hike to the top of the pinnacle which sits right above the village. Jewelry and craft making. It is a bit more rustic than other resorts but we had everything we needed. If you want relaxation and local vibe, this is the place! And very reasonable cost. Will come back again. Vinaka Tailo and your whole family!

Wayalailai is a resort owned and run by the local village (right next door). It is a perfect place to meet some genuine, friendly, caring Fijians, to see village-life up close, and to support their community. While Fijians are famous for their hospitality, the villagers running Wayalailai take this to another level. Music and songs were offered in welcome, at dinner, on departure, and at random other times. Three excellent meals a day were provided (plus afternoon tea). So snoozing at least once a day in one of the hammocks under the trees was something of a necessity! The villagers of Wayalailai were wonderfully welcoming. And when you're snoozing, there are lots of activities available. The hike around to the other two villages was challenging with some parts going through waist-high water. The walk to the top of the mountain was another great challenge offering an amazing view in return. Snorkelling out the front, especially to the right towards the village offered spectacular coral and fish. A walk through the village was an opportunity to meet the locals - and to be gently reminded to take off your hat while in the village! Attending church on Sunday may have built up some heavenly credits for me - but either way, the singing was heavenly. And the paddle over to 'Phantom Rock' on the island facing was an excellent adventure. If you want swimming pools, air-con, cappuccinos, fancy drinks in tall glasses with paper umbrellas - this place is NOT for you! Electricity runs only part of the day, internet connectivity is limited, and for coffee, we took our own ground coffee and an aeropress!

For those appreciative of authentic experiences, I highly recommend Waya Lailai Ecohaven Resort. Tai Lo and her team were extremely hospitable. We were encouraged to learn more of the Fijian culture - learning essential phrases, visiting the village and attending the Sunday Church Service. (The singing was beautiful). Highlights of our visit were climbing to the top of the volcanic plug (tough but the view was worth it), snorkelling in the nearby reefs and just lazing in the hammocks. Electricity was only available for a few hours in the evening, but somehow, the kitchen staff managed to produce a variety of nutritious meals. I do hope the resort maintains its authenticity and remains Fijian owned.

Beautiful! The clean well kept rooms, the ocean views, sunsets, food, tranquility and most of all the amazing staff made it our most treasured memory (of 3 different resorts) in Fiji - So much to enjoy here. From collecting beautiful seashells on the long stretch of beach, snorkeling and seeing a variety of coral and fish on the beachfront, relaxing in hammocks, teatime and delicious meals, visiting the village and time with the staff that made us feel like family. Thank you Moses and family for the fantastic snorkel trip to Mouya reef, saw lots of sharks. Thank you beautiful Eleanor for guiding us on the wild hike to the top lookout of the island. Thank you for sharing the real clava experience. Most of all thanks to TaiLo - who took us in while renovating to soon fully reopen. Vinaka ❤️

The resort looks very nice and also the family who is running the resort is very friendly... but... Diving with Wayalailai Ecoresort… they do the shark feeding with a stick and a half cage around the feeder… impressive for beginners and for people who haven´t seen sharks before 😅 I didn´t want to do the shark feeding here, it´s much better and professional in Pacific harbour/Fiji … in Pacific harbour I went with 3 different diving schools each 2 times diving and doing professional shark feeding, very impressive to see every dive school to do it in a different way at their own place, feeding by hand and not surrounded by a cage 😉 I was interested to go diving with Wayalailai Eco resort to explore the reefs around for fun diving… the boss himself went with me, very friendly guy, also the stuff 😃 ... but not well organised - Fiji style 😉 ... he told me in the beginning he has more then 4000 dives all around south pacific doing marine conservation, aha … I never saw a dive master standing so many times on corals during the 2 dives… Used his stick to open claims for fun 😳 … and we had to go on the surface because he used more air as I did… some other small things who showed me, this dive school is not well operated, only for package tourists who has no time for Fiji and want to see the famous shark feeding on Yasawas islands… and paying almost double price as in pacific harbour… so I decided to do not go again with them diving… and please, if you have time support a different diving school !!
