Beautifully surrounded, with a nice swimming pool, a magnificent hall for breakfast and really spacious rooms with a view that stretches out forever.
All the staff is professional and helpful always trying to make you feel at home.
A big thanks to Cristina and Roberto who take such good care of breakfast that you'd like to stay with them for a long time.
Do not miss the chance to stay at the Somaschi. You won't regret it.
Breakfast is typically Italian (a bit boring) but if you are used to travel in Italy that is often the standard.
A small pool is situated at the back of the hotel.
Could recommend that the hotel make a small lounge area in the yard, where you can sit and read and have an afternoon tea og wine. We were missing that.
it might be a great 4 stars hotel, but there are so many things which are not at that hotel category expectation! it's just a pity
Room was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast abundant and good quality with very friendly service.
The restaurant was a disappointment: average meal with less than average service, really surprising for Italy and huge contrast with breakfast, not to mention outstanding restaurants in town.
Strongly advise to venture out to one of the many gems within a 5 min walk for lunch/dinner until the mgt will bring those meals up to the rest of the standards @ otherwise charming hotel
Only ONE staff for reception+concierge. At times even nobody. Once after waiting for a long time we had to make an international call while in front of reception to find a staff. On arrival no porter assistance; our driver and guide had to carry luggages.
No public space
No decent lounge, bar, health center.
Avoid duplex rooms
Besides being ugly and inconvenient they are very hot. No heat control in rooms. Lower level was 27 degrees in October, so surely a lot more than 30 degrees in upper level where we were supposed to sleep. No windows to open to cool it. There is only a backyard door opening to an unguarded open space which can be reached from the street.
Bad breakfast
Served in a room without daylight with synthetic table cloth and napkins. Very bland cold food and variety. You can order egg dishes but 50 percent of times they will arrive burnt.
Bad internet
Sometimes worked sometimes didn't.
