Everything about Little Poly was great including the staff and food. We considered staying at one of the resorts in the Muri Beach area due to lots of recommendations, but staying at Little Poly was definitely the right choice. The bar, pool and service were all very good and there is good snorkeling off the resort beach. I definitely would recommend hiring a car for your stay here also. We will definitely be back.
We really loved the Little Polynesian. Normally we stay in larger hotels when we are on vacation, but somehow we ended up here. First, let me say that the people who work here are simply the best! We really felt like we were part of a community and the people really seemed to care about us (or at least they seemed to!). Everyone was so friend and helpful, we really felt cared for. Our beach front bungalows were great. Very bright and airy with spectacular beachfront views. The food was delicious whether it be the complimentary tropical breakfast or the lunch and dinner served at the poolside restaurant. The setting is devine with some of the best views on the island. Complimentary water crafts are available as are snorkel gear for all guests. We loved it here and would recommend this resort to anyone who doesn't have children as no kids are allowed.…
My wife and I had the privilege of staying at 'The Little Polynesian' for nine VERY relaxing days during February 2020. On arrival (a 20-minute transfer from the airport in Avarua), we were met by Meree and Tiree who made us feel very welcome and we immediately felt like it was ‘home away from home’ after Meree’s room orientation. We stayed in a gorgeous island style beachfront villa that looked out to the beautiful, calm blue and mesmerizing waters of the reef. The air-conditioned villa was generously sized, very nicely appointed with a king bed, set with quality linen and pillows. On the lower level, there was generous space, complete with table and several comfortable chairs and a long, cushioned bench on which to sit down, unwind and take in the gorgeous view. There was also a small kitchen sink and bench for making drinks. But the best place by far was out on the deck looking out to the big blue ocean and be soothed by the sound of breaking waves out on the reef Our room had plenty of storage space, plus room for two large suitcases to be raised to a comfortable level. Two snorkels and masks are in each room and reef shoes are available from the main desk. Dual sinks in the bathroom, both and indoor and private outdoor showers and plenty of space to move around. The Housekeeping Team were just lovely, with big genuine smiles and not at all intrusive. Each evening, on returning to our villa, we would find that Raj, one of the Team, had magically turned down our beds, refreshed the water, and made it very welcoming. While the beachfront setting is absolutely idyllic and one of the many jewels in Little Polynesian’s crown, the quality, variety and creativity of the dining experience, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, is equally impressive and yet another ‘jewel’ in that crown. The breakfast service from Shania and the dinner service from Jiuta and Christian was always excellent. Other front of house staff who excelled were Meree, Marilyn, Suzie and Tiree, all of whom made us feel so genuinely welcome. We were also delighted when the quietly confident and very competent manager Nan took time to stop by and introduce herself and to check everything was going well – a very nice touch. Getting around is easy and cheap, with either the clockwise or anti-clockwise bus (NZ$5 one way or $8 return) right at the door. There's just one main road and it's only 32kms around the whole island. Overall, our experience at ‘The Little Polynesian’ was excellent, and we have no hesitation in recommending it. The Little Polynesian team could not have been more helpful or attentive to our needs. Our stay was memorable for all the very best reasons and we can’t wait to return one day very soon. So here's a HUGE thank you to each and everyone of 'The Little Polynesian' team, our brand new Pacific ‘home away from home’. (Love you guys *o*)…
This surely has to be the best place to stay in Rarotonga. With just 15 beautifully presented rooms. But what really sets it apart is the restaurant. Sitting outdoors, looking across the lagoon to the distant reef is a view to die for. We stayed for a week and ate in-house every day. With such a view, with food of the highest quality and service to match, why eat anywhere else. Most evenings we were looked after by Suzie and Jiuta. They gave us excellent and friendly service of the highest order. Thank you so much, it makes a holiday. And thanks also to the rest of the excellent team. I really should not write this because when we try to book for next year it will be full of people who have read this review!!!
