We adored our stay at Locanda al Colle! Owner Riccardo has curated a special place where you relax, enjoy the villa and surroundings, and he enables Tuscan experiences such as Vespa rentals, which we rode to the shore for day trips, a driver to Lucca - what a great day trip through Tuscany, and probably best of all for us was a cooking class with Chef Gian Luca! Our 30th anniversary was magical! We can't wait to come back...Thank you Riccardo, Gian Luca, Gabriella, Laura and staff!
I’m sure there’s many 5star reviews for this amazing establishment, so here’s another one. As soon as you arrive here you are so welcome and are made to feel at home each and every member of the staff cannot do enough. Riccardo, the owner runs a very tight ship This hotel has been seriously thought out from the decor design, charming lounge areas and our room was amazing! Breakfast amongst the best ever, drinks on the many outside seating spots are very special. Make sure you book a meal on one of the evenings Jean Luc the seriously talented chef cooks , many courses of superb fresh food at excellent value. Cannot wait to return! Thank you Riccardo and your marvelous team.
After our first experience at Locanda al Colle, we wanted to return with our family to show them just how special it is. They weren’t disappointed! We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Ricardo, Gian Luca and the team are simply fantastic!! We ate there every evening and the food was simply incredible! Our family were blown away - as were we for a second time around! We visited the beach club on Sunday which was such a lovely way to spend a sunny day. We also visited Lucca for the day and Florence for the day - all of which we would recommend. We can’t wait to return again for our third visit. I truly think it would be tough to find anywhere better than Locanda al Colle to spend our precious holiday time. Thank you Ricardo and team - you are incredible!
First heard of Locanda a year ago from a travel agent recommendation but i was late booking and couldn’t get in. This year i planned 5 months in advance of trip. It was ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. Unique, Italian, quiet comfortable property with AMAZING staff. Make sure to join the cooking class with Gian Luca. You can be keep to yourselves or be part of the community either way you vacation will be well spent and this amazing property.
Our visits to Locanda now mark the passing of the years - like birthdays and Christmas. This year we chose September rather than July, so there was a new group of people staying, many of whom were regular visitors too, and it was interesting to see how the guesthouse changes as the year progresses - the hot summer had clearly taken its toll on the grass outside our room! But the level of comfort remains exceptional and the one thing that doesn't change is the service which was exemplary as always - Riccardo, Gabriella and Gianluca manage to combine informality with professionalism and discretion. I say this every year, but the food really does get better and better - Wednesday evening's dinner was so good that it was distressing to know that we would miss Saturday's because we were going home. And that's the thing - they say it's better to leave wanting more, but we can't imagine getting to the point where we don't want to stay longer. A few weeks before we arrived, I was sent an email about another hotel that had clearly copied Locanda's style - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all - but I cannot imagine anyone successfully replicating the ambiance.…
