Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The B&B is not high end, it's not ultra modern furniture and not in a busy tourist site. What it is though is charming, cosy, ultra friendly and probably the most welcoming guest house I have ever stayed in. The owners look to your ever need, the rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. They have everything you need from the wifi, tv, comfy beds and superb bathrooms and even tea, coffee and biscuits. Don't get me started on the freshly cooked breakfast - My goodness, what a way to start a busy day, I opted for poached eggs, bacon and toast. Homemade bread, Wiltshire bacon (just as thick as it should be) and the eggs are from their own chicken and can you tell the difference?
Not down that way often but if I am I'm sure to book you again, many many thanks.

A gem of a find, characterful traditional farmhouse. Welcoming and delightful host. My room was spacious, a comfortable bed and modern, clean bathroom. A very well presented and delicious cooked breakfast, with a good selection of other options. Highly recommended.

This is a big old farm house on a working farm in the middle of a village. They have recently converted a couple of barns nearby and new neighbours now live in some of the new developments next door. Our room was comfortable, the en suite modern and the breakfast was really good. All the guests sit around one big table, which was fine. Plenty of character, and a bit of a gem really. Because it’s a farm, you need to leave your shoes in the hall, which is a bit quirky, but that was fine too. All in all, a bit of a gem and a comfortable place to stay.

Disappointed as no mention on website of the major building work going on, bulldozers early morning etc. My main issue is being mislead. If I’d know, I’d have been prepared, brought wellies for outside, or possibly booked elsewhere. The host was pleasant, bed clean and comfortable and breakfast excellent, unfortunately room not particularly clean, bedside table in particular thick with dust and huge cobwebs on bedside lamp which isn’t really good enough. Am sure it will look great when finished, but do think it’s wrong to not make prospective guests aware before they book.

Having read the previous reviews we were a little apprehensive but the location was perfect as we were racing at Castle Combe the next day and it is only 6 mins away. The directions given by the host pre visit were perfect and easy to find. Arrived at a working farm with large farm yard that was ideal as I had a big trailer and am not the most competent of reversers !! Made very welcome by a herd of cows and posse (?) of cats oh and the hosts. Genuine farmhouse with all the accompanying clutter. Rooms were large and functional and very clean with modern ensuites and all facilities like tea and coffee, TV and wifi. Great recommendation for meal in the local pub that was very lively for a tuesday evening.
Breakfast was served on a big farmhouse table with a fantastic full english (3 fried eggs - from the farm I think). I think they will serve breakfast from 6:00 am which is great as most events you have to be at the circuit for 7:30 ish.
I can understand previous comments but if you want a genuine working farm with all its quirky attributes close to a great village and with a warm welcome and great breakfasts this is it

We came across this place when every other B&B in Wiltshire seemed booked out, so decided to take our chances and book it. It wasn't horrendous, but I do feel it was very expensive indeed. The rooms were not designed at all - they looked like they'd been assembled from Freecycle items. Shared bathrooms were clean enough but very old (think salmon pink bathroom suites your granny would turn her nose up at and a loo that barely flushed). Also, it's absolutely a nightmare to find even with the directions they give - guys, GET A PROPER SIGNPOST!

Breakfast was a slight redeeming feature - nicely cooked and a good selection of items. But at £70/night for no TV in the room, no en suite facilities and a B&B in the middle of nowhere (Grittleton is a one horse town) this hardly offered value for money. We stayed at a wonderful B&B the night after that pulled out all the stops for only a fiver more.

This place needs to think seriously about whether to carry on in business or drop its prices. It either needs to raise its game considerably on style and service, or market itself as a cheap, almost hostel style place to stay for a short time.

If you want a big comfy bed, in big bright bedroom, with a big bathroom, with a big (tasty) breakfast in the morning, and a lovely welcome, stay here.

Manor Farm is a working farm, the B&b is set in the huge farmhouse. This is not for those who want a bland faceless hotel-type stay. This is a homely, comfortable welcome stay set in the pretty village of Grittleton.

Breakfast is served around a big farmhouse dining table and is plentiful, with fresh bread left on the table for you to cut and toast yourself.

Easy access to Chippenham, Corsham, Bath and surrounding areas.

Try it 😊

I found Manor Farm B&B on the internet only after I had already booked with Premier Inn at Swindon. Wished I had found them before. I shall not repeat what has already been stated in previous posts as they are all good, relevant and describe the Farm exactly. What I shall say is that the owners made me very welcome, answered many questions and gave me a room that was large, comfortable and with lots of little thoughtful touches. Along with the absolute silence and comfortable bed, I slept the best I had since leaving home 4 days earlier. Breakfast was exactly as described in previous posts in a most warm, functional breakfast room with a huge beautiful farm table. My wife has asked me to arrange further visits in the future but this time she must be included.
The area is beautiful with much to see and do (Castle Coombe race circuit in particular - 3 miles away), and a visit to the Neeld Arms (5 minutes away) has to be included with superb food, beer, a great atmosphere and along with Manor Farm some of the friendliest people i have met in many a year.

Manor Farm gets my vote, and I intend to return very soon. Forget the mud etc, its a working farm not a nice newly built sanitised national hotel chain, but you will sleep and eat better with many a smile and assistance from the very helpful owners.

We stayed at the Manor Farm at the very last minute. Have only read the other reviews after staying there and I think they were way off the mark and far too harsh

If ypur concerned about clutter, cows and having family (even if that includes recorder practice) around you, then maybe a bed & breakfast within a family home is not for you, and perhaps you should seek out a boutique jotel instead.

But if you want to experience how the locals live, a working farm in centre of town, and the quaintness of Grittleton, then this is the place to do it What a delightful town, great location within that town, lovely rooms and personable hosts.

The bathrooms here were by far the best we had experienced in our one month of travel, and we just loved our stay.

With the location right on the edge of the Cotswolds and just over an hour from London, next time I'd like to stay longer.

Highly recommended.

I have just returned from spending 2 nights in the Green room. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed but with very dated and sad looking furniture. I could not open the tatty looking windows which ran with condensation. The en-suite showeroom was excellent, fitted with a large shower and modern white tiles and fittings, the overall effect was spoilt however by a hideous brown wall mirror badly positioned to the side of the basin. Breakfast was very good and sufficient to set you up for the day, but the tranquility was rather spoilt by someone practicing a recorder in a adjacent room.
I could not lock my room from the outside which made me feel uncomfortable when out and i did not like having to leave my shoes on the ground floor. My room was not serviced during my stay, i do not know if this was policy or just an oversite. All in all not a bad b&b but at £40 for a single person i thought it overpriced by 25%.
