Stayed here 3 times. First 2 times were perfect. Even though the rooms weren’t amazing, the view and breakfast made up for it. Sadly the last visit it has changed a lot. No water or toiletries in the room The breakfast was awful. Make your own toast, in an old fashioned toaster. Coffee sitting in a coffee pot. Eggs royale - I sent it back as the sauce and eggs looked awful and the salmon looked slimy with brown bits - looked out of date. Husbands mushrooms were raw. Staff all still very pleasant though. Won’t be returning though. Such a shame, the management have decided to cut corners to save money.
Lovely location, and nice warm feel to the pub inside.
Long wait at the bar for drinks and only one member of staff serving. Drinks were flat and although we took them back the second set were also flat.
You have to order food at a separate counter and cannot order food and drinks together.
Food was very simple, opted for sausage and mash which consisted of a small lump of mash and 4 small sausages and gravy. Apparence looked like it had been sat for a while because of the tide line. No veg included.
Very helpful member of staff who seemed to be overwhelmed and couldn’t serve everyone on her own.
I’d choose another place to eat, wish we had gone to the little cafe opposite.
We stayed at the Anchor Inn the last weekend in September. It was nice and sunny and warm. The room had a lovely view of the beach and sea. It was so cosy and the beds were superb, so comfortable it was a joy to be in them.
Went for advertised steak night at 19.00,but they were sold out, the offer had been on all day. Had to wait 30 mins for alternatives which are good, worth another try sometime. Was very busy so advise booking which can be done on website and Facebook as well the normal phone call
The pub's website states food is served until 10pm so I planned accordingly. But when I arrived at the pub at 8.50pm I was told the kitchen was closed and I was unable to order any food. Don't rely on website hours as being correct.
