Three-day stay to ski in Alpe D Huez and Los Dos Alpes. We were alone, a couple with a 20-year-old son, in one of the attic rooms, large and very cozy, with two bedrooms and a living area. One but: the bathtub, I'm not a bather, I prefer the shower, and in this one it was not comfortable to get in and out.
Despite being alone, they had breakfast prepared for us at 08:00 with fresh orange juice, fresh pastries and bread, butter and homemade jams. There was also cheese and cold cuts and they offered us eggs as we wanted, but the pastries were enough for us.
And I have to add another “but”: the coffee, I am a big coffee drinker, and I like brown coffee, and the coffee was more like American coffee ♀️🤷🏻. Very friendly people.

Very friendly reception. Cozy and beautifully decorated. Delicious breakfast. It is possible to store bicycles. There is a refrigerator, drinks, coffee, tea, a microwave, washing machine, and a garden. Very quietly located and yet only 5 minutes from Bourg d'Oisans by car

This has to be one of the best welcome and experiences I have ever received. I can only describe it as service excellence at it best! After travelling with friends to cycle Alp D'Huez and some of the Cols, I was apprehensive at the challenge ahead. My fears were very quickly alleviated when we were greeted by Peter, clutching some chives he had just picked from his herb garden for our evening meal. Our accommodation exceeded our expectations, even ceiling hooks in the garage to hold our bikes. All guests dine together both for breakfast and evening meal. This was fantastic as we we were joined by some Belgian guests and it was just like being a guest at a friends house! I would highly recommend Peter and Marie's hospitality and accommodation to any cyclists or others exploring the area! The jacuzzi and steam room were very welcome after a days cycling. My friends and I were so impressed we are planning to return next year, to complete some of the other cycle routes in the area! Has to be the best Gite ever!

This is our second visit to this B&B in the last 2 years. We stayed here for 6 nights during a recent trip to the Alps for a cycling holiday. It is ideally situated, with the famous Alpe D'huez climb only 4.5 miles down the road and other iconic climbs not too far away including the Croix de la Fer. The B&B itself is beautifully presented, it has a number of rooms - we opted for the Alpage suite - which is very big and has a beautiful en-suite bathroom with a free standing bath beneath an apex window looking out to the mountains. My mother and Nan stayed in a double room, which had a balcony and a sizeable en-suite.
The B&B has a hot tub/ jacuzzi - which is just so relaxing after a days hard cycling in the mountains. It also has a little garden with sun loungers - which we used as the weather was so hot!
There is a handy garage, which has a fridge/freezer for guests use and a washing machine, very handy for smelly cycling kit!
Downstairs there is a communal lounge, which has a television and coffee making facilities (neither of which are in the bedrooms.) This threw me at first, however, over the week this encouraged all guests to get together and chat - which was really nice and interesting to learn about the others guests and their origins.
We had a couple of extra-ordiarily hot days and this made sleeping a little difficult as there was no air-con etc in our room, but that's a small price to pay for the outstanding beauty of the location and the b&b itself.
The hosts welcome you into their b&b like it is their home, and are very friendly. I especially love hearing their little daughter playing with the dog in the garden - very cute - and a sense of family togetherness which i loved.
Will definitely be visiting again.

My partner and I stayed at Cle de Bois along with another couple when I took part in the Marmotte cycling event in early July this year. This was the third occasion that I have stayed here and once again Peter and Marie's hospitality was top class.

With other cyclists also staying there, Peter thoughtfully put together evening meals that reflected our need for energy whilst at the same preparing some local dishes and always using locally sourced ingredients. Breakfasts were also delicious and featured some fantastic home made jams and marmalade.

Paula and I were fortunate to have the top bedroom with skylights and lovely views of the mountains.

I usually visit the Savoie for some cycling every second year and with Bourg d'Oissans the focal point of Alpine cycling, I'll keep going back to Cle des Bois - it's just a lovely place with lovely hosts.

Having stayed at Peter and Marie's wonderful Cle des Bois just outside of Bourg d'Oissans on two occasions, a review is long overdue.

Stayed here in September 2010 and September 2012 on cycling trips and have been delighted with the quality of accommodation, food, service and outstanding value. The rooms are well appointed, individual and have good quality bath/shower facilities. A very adequate is superseded by the magnificent 3 course dinner which at €25 including a more than serviceable Cote du Rhone represents some value. Not surprising perhaps as Peter was a restauranteur in the nearby ski resort of Vaujanay for 18 years so one can expect fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are superbly cooked and brilliantly presented.

Looking forward to my next visit in July when I'll be participating in La Marmotte, 174km of cycling in the mountains so good accommodation and food is a necessity.

Stayed for ten days, longer than most other guests and we met some interesting people in that time. Lovely room, nice breakfast on a long table eating with other guests but be there early (or late) as they only seat 8 at a time for breakfast and if you are the 9th or 10th then you'll be eating in a seperate room, which I imagine is not much fun.

We stayed here with the soul intention to cycle Alpe Huez. It was perfect, with a bit of a warm up ride to the start of the mountain. The room was big and clean and had everything we needed. Coffee and tea was downstairs but no milk was provided. The breakfast was basic but fresh and typically french, with bread, a pastry and a warm boiled or fried egg each day. There was a welcoming hot tub after our bike ride and dressing gowns were provided. We also were able to wash our clothes and dry them in the garage. You can astore your bikes in there too. Beware of the outdoor cat!!! It has a split personality! Lol

Great hosts, very clean bnb. Spectacular views. We had a twin room with en suite. The showerhead support needs to be fixed but this is my only gripe. Ideal for cycling on the cols. You need transport to get into Bourg as busses are unreliable. I would avoid October next time as the villages all seem to be closed in preparation of the so I season, this left eating options reduced but you can get by.

A nice two-night stay! Our room was very clean and comfortable and the views were breathtaking. This family extended a very warm welcome to us and was helpful in answering our questions- by email before the trip and during our stay. The breakfast was delicious!

You can contact them directly by email. The process was really easy and they were very friendly to deal with. They took a deposit by credit card, and we settled up at the end. Awesome location, great food.
