#3 of 33 Speciality lodging in Rapolano Terme
The holding “Armaiolo”, time ago part of the Camaiori shire, extends for 600 hectares along the typical landscape of the clays of Siena. Holm-oak’ s forests and arbutus plants are an example just to show the view in some possible hikes. The three lodgings, where the accommodations are, have been restored maintaining the taste of the time gone: an ancient mill, an hunting’s house, an oil press… the taste of the lost time where to shelter oneself to escape from the frantic rhythms of our days.

The guesthouse is composed of two houses with about 2 km of track in between (accessible with standard car - no need for 4x4 like indicated in previous review). The first villa host the reception, indoor and outdoor breakfast area and some rooms. The second villa has family appartments and the swimming pool. So you have to drive either to go to breakfast or to the swimming pool. This did not bother us. The second villa with the pool is located beside the motorway. We had to sleep with open windows because of the heat and no air conditioning. I slept well but my wife did not. Except those two warning, this B&B is highly recommendable. Roberto is a great host although we had to speak a mixed italian-spanish with him to understand each other. Breakfast cost 6€ for adults and 4€ for kids and is great. Wifi is free and is easy to connect but only available in the breakfast/hall area. Rapolana Terme with its Thermal baths is about 2 kms away and Siena is 20 kms.

We went there and the place was nothing like the pictures they publish. The pool was 1 km away from the apartment and the streets were almost impossible to drive with a non 4x4. The house was really nice and clean. Of course also if we called before at the time of arrival they sad that the booking was wrong but as we could speak Italian they have not managed to get more money from us. The place is really nice but it is not what you see from the pictures so in the end a disappointment

immersed in the beautiful rolling Hills of tuscany this 1500 acre (600 hectares) agro-tourist complex is the perfect location for a memorable stay in a large estate with its peaceful and tranquil environment.Three large country houses of great character and beautifully restored stand in the middle of extensive vineyards and olive groves. They have been converted into self catering apartments of different sizes to meet each visitor's needs. Each apartment has been decorated to respect the character of the building with all modern conveniences for the visitor. While breakfast is available in the main house the fact that the visitors have their own kitchen means they can choose between visiting the many trattorias and restaurants in the area, renowned for their tuscan food,or make light meals for themselves This was perfect for i and my friends since we didnt want to be tied having to eat on the estate..It is within easy reach of many historic toiwns.Rapolana Terme with its Thermal baths is only2 kms away and Siena is 20 kms. There are wonderful walks on the estate and a large swimming pool for guests. There are two lakes for fishing or picnics. The estate produces a well known chianti wine, high quality olive oil and special charcuterie products typical of the area.Wifi is available

We had a fantastic time here in September 2014. We stayed for 3 nights and fell i love with the place. Roberto was so lovely, and put on a wonderful breakfast every morning of fresh cheese and meats. The farm itself is so picturesque - olive trees on the hillsides with a beautiful turquoise pool at the bottom of the road. You are within driving distance to several 'hilltop' towns, including Montepulciano. Since it is a smaller town you are in, there are great, authentic restaurants to try too. To top it off, there were also the cutest kittens while we were there! I'm getting nostalgic just writing this review, and can't wait to go back one day!
