Detailed Reviews

We were a family of 5 travelling in a motorhome. It was a great place to stop, showers were great, heater in the shower room made it even more pleasant. The kitchen is large and made cooking dinner and eating a lot more comfortable than in the motorhome which could be a little crowded with 5 of us. The walk on the beach is very nice, very interesting. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here before - when it was a top 10, just for one night & in a cabin. We had a great time & promised the kids we would return.
We did & stayed 5 years later, in summer for a week with our friends.
We booked together & requested sites next to each other.
We arrived & we're given a site in area "B". The sites were very small. We only have a very small caravan (1979 poptop) & awning & we filled the entire width of our site. There was no space for our son to erect his tiny 2 man tent. The people next to us were having similar issues but kindly said we could pitch his tent in a small space between our two sites. The only issue was he kept donking his head on their caravan.
Meanwhile, our friends arrived & were given a site far away from us - annoying as we had requested sites together - (area D), in sand, what appeared to be a literal sandpit - It appeared to be not an actual campsite at all - but the demolished area of a former permanent caravan. It was full of rusty nails, broken concrete & you couldn't pitch a tent on it.
As it was Wellington anniversary weekend , the campsite was full & they had a large tent (there is no way they could fit on a site where we were).
Thankfully, A lady camping near them realized what was happening & offered them a lovely site they had that was extra. We were still camping far from them though.
Over the busy weekend, facilities struggled. There appeared to be a lack of toilets & showers for the amount of people there & often weren't overly clean.
There was always a queue to use them.
However, once everyone left after the long weekend, we were able to move to be by our friends (painful but worth it as we were staying a week).
It was lovely once the campground wasn't so busy. We had lovely shaded, grassy sites (our previous one was dusty & dirty) by the playground, which was great for the kids & it was great to be able to use facilities freely. They were lovely & clean once it wasn't so busy.
It was enjoyable & relaxing.
Bbqs were immaculate & there are lovely BBQ areas that are shaded.
Petanque & chess available too.
There's a great playground right by the camp with great flying foxes & a pump track which kept them busy for hours.
Over the busy weekend, they had a waterslide set up & even gave out free ice cream to the kids one day (real fruit!).
Overall - we enjoyed our stay & would return. We just feel more care needs to be given to keep groups together when booking & perhaps to check the size of people's equipment when booking!

I loved my stay at Foxton top 10, I was fortunate to stay in one of their fantastic boat shed cabins!
Warm and comfortable with a great little decking area for private use with a beautiful view of the bird sanctuary.
The bathrooms are amazing!! Rather than one large older style bathroom block I was impressed to find the modern smaller units with fantastic showers, abs everything was extremely clean with regular cleaning rosters in the cubicles.
The host was super inviting and his team so an excellent job
Can't recommend enough if for whatever reason you find yourself needing accommodation in Foxton.

We had 3 nights at Foxton Beach in a beach hut and it was amazing, from the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, our beach hut was lovely and in such a good location. 10 minute walk to the shop, 10 minutes from a pub and you are right on the beach, the bed was very comfortable and everything on the whole site was incredibly clean and well maintained.
Must stay, Exceptional Value for Money.
Wi-Fi isn’t Great.

I felt that the campground was well monitored by good management and administration and that the tent site was spacious, free of stones and rubbish and reasonably flat. The ablutions were a bit dated but that is understandable considering the sandy location. The ablutions were functional and I was pleased to see that the paper towels were topped up fairly promptly when they ran out and the rubbish was emptied. Friendly, helpful service thank you!

This is a brilliant little holiday park. We stayed in the self-contained unit, and it was really luxurious. Great staff too. Well located, close to the beach and the estuary walk. For families, there is a playground on location, but also within a short walk to 3 other playgrounds.
The Wifi could be better though.

Great holiday park, had everything we needed. is very well maintained and clean. However the Wifi was terrible and i thought $180 for 2 nights for 2 adults and a child in a non powered site was pretty steep.

Foxton Beach Holiday Park has an effect on you - it makes you just want to come back, so we did. Nestled between the Manawatu lagoon and the Tasman sea beach, its spacious setting is tranquil. Awoke today to a Tui chortling. But there is more - facilities are unequalled and spotless, then most importantly people make a place. Here it is Tina, who is fabulous, ever so helpful and completes the perfect experience at Foxton Holiday Park. Thank you!

Excellent modern facilities near the beachfront. The cabin was small but very functional facing the beach. Short distance to toilet block. Price charged was high for the size of room ($130).
Late check in facilities worked really well

Another amazing holiday, great atmosphere, lovely friendly helpful staff. Kids had a great Easter. Loving the improvements in the park, great job of clearing the area in the middle of the park so open and more inviting now. Keep up the great work guys, your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Sorry, I'm unsure about that, perhaps if you contact the camp directly they will be able to advise.
Hi, and thank you for your inquiry.
The charge per adult per night would be $20 and for a child (under 15) would be $12.
Kind regards
Uwe
