We stayed at this hotel on 6th July 2020. 2 rooms 2 couples. We booked and paid for the rooms using Hotels.com. On the 7th July the receptionist asked my wife and my friend to pay high they both did. We have now paid twice and neither the hotel or Hotels.com will give us refund due to us not having a receipt. Please avoid this hotel.
The hotel itself does not deserve a mark of three. Rooms are super basic ie there is nothing (except the overpowering smell of an industrial cleaner that would probably be illegal in the state of California). No coffee, no water, no phone. Not even a piece of paper with dinner/breakfast times, which because of the lack of a phone, meant a trip back down to reception. Our double room did have one chair, which we could take turns at sitting in! And as a bonus the bed had a really unpleasant plastic mattress protector. Down to dinner and the menus did not look inspiring, but in truth both the pulpo and the chiparones were probably the best we've ever eaten! That was certainly the high point of the stay. Unfortunately, the culinary excellence did not make a second appearance at breakfast time. I'd stay somewhere else and got to Yucas for the Pulpo.…
Reception, when I finally located the place, in the shape of Ana, was helpfulness itself. Gave me a map, tried to book a head and neck massage for me (difficult at short notice, I know). Asked if there was anything else I needed. No complaints there. BUT - and none of these things cost extra! - neither bedside light worked and another bulb in the room had blown. How radical would it be to have spare bulbs in reception rather than with the maintenance man who "won't be in till the morning"! It's a little thing but so easy to get right that there is no excuse. Also the "bath" towels were tiny. Another pet hate. Even Kate Moss would have struggled to cover herself.
