The Kenmore Club hotel garners appreciation for its scenic location on Loch Tay and the relaxing atmosphere accentuated by picturesque views. While guests commend the spacious and well-equipped rooms, some feel that the decor could use updating, and a few mention that the standard of cleanliness varies.
The amenities receive mixed feedback; the comfort and views are often praised, but the pool has been called out for needing improvement. Although service is generally considered friendly, value for money remains a concern for guests who have encountered unexpected charges.

Just back from a 2 night stay with family and friends and absolutely loved it.
We normally stay at Moness in Aberfeldy but found The Kenmore Club at a cheaper price and so glad that we did.
Both staff on reception were so lovely and helpful. A few days before our stay I phoned to enquire about the swimming pool. We were able to book our slots for all 3 days with no issues and because we were a larger group we got the whole pool to ourselves. The lady was also able to get check in details over the phone to reduce the time needed when we got there as we had small children.
The lodges are set in a beautiful location right on the banks of the Loch. The grounds were quiet and well maintained. The resort has its own private jetty where we paddle boarded, swam and paddled. It was super quiet and the water was calm.
The scenery is beautiful.
The balconies were great to sit out on in the evening and there were plenty of chairs. The views were amazing and the glass panelling around the balconies made it safe for our young children to be out on.
The rooms were spacious and beds comfy. Everything was spotless. I’d seen some reviews saying that some furniture looked tired and worn but this was not the case in either of the lodges that we stayed in. The kids loved the park there also.
We have stayed other places in the past where we have had to bring our own washing up liquid and there has been minimal kitchen, toilet rolls etc. This was not the case here at all. There was even shower gels in the bathroom and a selection of nice teas and coffees for the coffee machine. We also liked that there was a half sized freezer in the lodge for the kids ice lollies and party food. Often it is a single drawer in a small fridge.
If there was only one small ‘gripe’ it would be that the check in time wasn’t until 4pm and that the checkout time 10am. I know that this was relatively normal during Covid times but feel it should go back to 3pm/11am. Trying to get packed and organised to leave with children can be quite stressful and the extra hour would be really helpful.
We did pay for a late checkout fee (£10 per hour) .
We are already planning our return trip and will be sure to recommend.

We stayed as a family group in neighbouring properties and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The 'cottages' are well equipped and very spacious with large bathrooms and lovely seating areas in the lounge and balcony. The 'upside down' layout works well except in the mornings when early risers padding about upstairs easily wake those underneath... The staff cannot be faulted - friendly, helpful and very quick to sort problems should they arise. Like other reviewers, we thought the general décor could do with updating and was pretty characterless, and lots of grouting and sealant was failing making the place feel a bit tired and in need of maintenance. Given the cracks in the grouting around the bath/shower it is unsurprising there was a slight damp smell in the bedroom the other side of the wall. Beds were comfy, the curtains blocked sunlight out, and it was very quiet a night. Overall an excellent stay and a lovely location - and the onsite bistro is super.

Unfortunately our experience on this occasion was not as good as previous stays at the resort.
We were somewhat let down by the standard of cleanliness in apartment 46, floors not moped, en suite sink not clean, kitchen sink needed a wipe, entrance carpet stained. This was our initial observations which we were surprised at, as all our previous stays were very good.
Unfortunately we decided our first night would be a cooked meal and a glass of wine in the balcony, however at 6pm we found the oven was not working. We reported this however no maintenance team were available. This did get a replacement oven at 3-4 pm the next day.
This is the first time we have been placed into an apartment outside the wall garden, and we hope not to be placed there again. Can I suggest you consider having a supervisory check after the cleaner has been at the apartment and before a gust is provided with its access keys. Surely you have enough time as you want guest to leave by 1000am but not providing entry until 4pm on the day.
I would finally like to highlight, I do not like the additional £100 you need to pay over the cost, in case you damage anything?

Response from Paula Hood, Guest Services / Front Office at The Kenmore Club
Responded 26 Sept 2024
Hi Jo242, thank you for your review. As I said in response to our own feedback survey, it is standard practise that we have a housekeeping supervisor or manager check every cottage before they are handed back for guest arrival and I apologise again that on this occasion we failed to carry out the final checks. We are unable to guarantee cottage location. When we have a high number of owners or members on site then they have properties attached to their booking requirement and therefore, get priority over which cottages they occupy. As I also explained, the security deposit is not debited by us from your account. The card provider holds this and when we settle our records in the evening the money is automatically released by your card provider back to your accessible funds. It was unfortunate that the oven wasn't working. We do carry out maintenance checks on all cottages when a guest departs, but as with all things, they can stop working for any reason at any time. It's over a two hour round trip to the city to to collect new parts or appliances. Our maintenance team pulled out all the stops to ensure we made it possible for you to enjoy your cooked meal on the balcony during your stay.

We booked a cottage in Mid-March this year and when we arrived, we were advised that our request for a specific cottage had been declined. On checking in at 4.00pm. We met with a person named Jean who made a strange comment in the lines of" who wants to look onto the Loch when its raining". Immediately we became wary of what sort of accommodation we would be staying in. It was therefore no surprise to find we had the only cottage that overlooked 2 car park areas and the main road. After strolling around the complex, it was very clear we had been placed in the worst cottage it the resort but paid the exact daily price as everyone else. We were also informed that we were required to leave the cottage before 10am on our day of departure and if we wished to stay on longer, we would have to pay an extra £10, per hour. Clearly appeared to be nothing more than a money-making exercise for Kenmore resort. It was also noticeable that the other local facilities were closed, and that the local Hotel was shut for refurbishment and the Courtyard another restaurant and bar was also closed. As for our stay we could not sit on the balcony as it was directly above the car park to the front of our cottage as was the main Road. The bedroom was also looking onto a second car park which meant we were unable to leave the window open as CO2 fumes were as constant issue with all the maintenance and cleaning vans using this to access other cottages. Within staying less than 24 hours we received a message from Jean again asking us to rate the stay which was almost impossible to do as we had only been given access at 4.00pm the previous day. On the second day we were flooded as the plumbing under the sink was faulty. After spending a good period of our second day waiting on maintenance and housekeeping to fix the problem, we made our decision that we will not be returning to this place again. I reviewed this resort last year and gave it a glowing report, this year however has been a complete disaster and we were extremely disappointed that having made this booking over 8 months prior to our stay we were given the worst cottage in the place. It is important to advise other future guests that if you book this resort, you will not be able to access the Spa facilities on your day of arrival as you cannot access your living quarters until 4.00pm and the Spa coincidently closes at the same time. I find the fact that you pay for one day and are only given access for 8 hours of that day yet pay the same price for every other day. Charging an extra £10 clearly suggests that this is only to make more money that allows visitors to pay to leave later and arrive earlier. It also shows that the resort could return to the previous rules as they clearly do not need 6 hours for housekeeping for new guests to arrive. We thought about complaining when we arrived, but we were informed by Jean, once more that the complex was fully booked. Pointless exercise altogether. Based on our stay If I could give no stars then unfortunately I would.

Rather shocked and disappointed to find dried on blood stains on the bedding and carpet on arrival , prominent cobwebs and other people's hair in the apartment. When we notified reception they acted quickly to replace the bedding and the carpet was cleaned. The swimming pool changing rooms need regular cleaning as rather dirty and covered in hair by late afternoon, but the pool is good and has lovely views of Loch Tay. We felt the apartment living area could do with some more comfortable sofas / armchairs.
The location and situation of the lodges is lovely. We didn't use the restaurant onsite but there are plenty of places nearby in Aberfeldy and elsewhere and lots of great places to visit and explore.

My wife, my 2 young sons and I visited the Kenmore club for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience.
All the staff we interacted with were welcoming and friendly. The reception staff were excellent ensuring we had cot and highchair in the cottage before we got there and explained with a good level of detail the facilities available, location of cottage etc.
The cottage itself has a wow factor when you walk up the stairs to a large panoramic window with balcony that was too tempting even on a freezing February evening. The appliances and equipment in the cottage was of a good standard and all in working order. Our only slight issue in the cottage was it got quite cold at night and we couldn't work out how to adjust the heating with our son's room getting down to 14 degrees on his baby monitor when we normally have it at around 18. We didn't check with reception how to correct this and I'm sure if we did there would have been a solution forthcoming.
The pool was quiet but big and our boys thoroughly enjoyed their time in it although was quite cold so we're only in for a short amount of time.
The restaurant was great with attentive staff and a good standard of food with big portion sizes.
The cottage and all communal areas were spotless.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back in the future!

We have been diamond resort members for years and have been coming to Kenmore ALOT. This time we have booked it through booking.com.
We paid in FULL in may via booking.com. Upon arrival we pay £100 deposit and an electricity charge per night (fair enough, as we always do)
Our lodge was stunning as always and the gardens always very well maintained.
We tried to sit out on the balcony on the first night, we noticed a wasps nest but as we continued to try sit out it got more n more therefore we moved to the other balcony which there was really thick bird droppings on (both balcony’s a health hazard for two very young children)
We reported this to the front desk and told they already knew about wasps nest ( still gave us this lodge known we booked with two young kids ) but couldn’t do anything about it this weekend. We were then told Someone would be out first thing at 10 tomorrow morning for the thick poo.
Next morning we held back on our plans for the day waiting on someone appearing… no one appeared , phoned them then was told 11, still no one then told 12 no one again then they appeared 2 o’clock!! The guy that did eventually appear was very nice & polite.
We then carried on with our stay, my partner checked his bank to notice they had taken another full payment out his bank without it being authorized!!
The amount was a random amount and not what we even originally paid for this lodge!! please everyone check your bank accounts!!
Due to the incompetent staff and their lack of remorse we won’t be back here. There are plenty of other places to stay so we will be going else where in future. Please be careful.

Start with the check in, we had 4 lodges booked through booking.com, I presumed I would be able to pay in one go as it was one cost given by booking.com, nope I had to pay 4 times and 4 security deposits, my bank actually blocked the last one as they thought something was going on. We were told the swimming would cost £5pp but the QR code in the room says £10 per apartment, the reception staff weren't aware of this but charged each family different anyway, some paid for kids, some didn't. Lodge was really nice, lots of space, very clean, balcony was very slippy when it started to rain so just had to watch what you were doing

This was my second stay here the first being fantastic, any travelling here needs to understand that this a member club so you will probably never get the best rooms as the give them to members. My issue started when they booked me into an accessible room without notification, they tried to mislead me that they had no other rooms until I showed they were still advertising then tried to charge me extra. Some staff were rude and unhelpful so be aware if it goes wrong do not expect it easily sorted.

Responded 20 Sept 2024
Michael M, I'm sorry you had a disappointing stay. You are right when you mention our members. We have owners and members that book to come and stay every year at the same time. The owners will always get the cottage they 'own' and we have a tiered membership that allows members to chose which accommodations they have. Any guests booking via a third party booking site will be placed in whichever cottage best matches their booking, however, there are no guarantees that this will include a loch view or glass fronted cottage. On the occasions when we are fully booked i.e. on this occasion a 1 bedroom apartment, we will have to use the accessible cottage, which is a 1 bedroom cottage. A third party site may say we still have availability, but when booking they will upgrade you to a bigger cottage. We are unable to to upgrade bookings that are not made directly with us.

Hi sorry not had this installed for a while so never noticed your question. I case you have not been I can only say I do not see why it would not be. The staff our all lovely so I would say I am sure it would be a great place for someone of any sexuality to stay.
The gym is quite simple with just a handful of equipment on offer but ok for a quick workout
certainly the one we were in was in good working order with no issues
We have plenty of on-site activities like Basketball, Fishing, Fitness Center, Mini-GolfLakeMini Golf, Movie/DVD Rental, Playground, Sauna Table and an Indoor Heated Pool. We also have our Waterfront restaurant on-site where you can take a seat at the bar and enjoy a relaxing drink or relax in one of our comfy armchairs with a freshly brewed coffee and homemade shortbread. -GP
Really sorry but we drove, never used public transport.
