Easy to find, well looked after and it's huge. Plenty of options of how you want to stay. Campervan sites are big. Heaps of amenities. They have a small shop with all the basics. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a dumping station and clean water etc. Short walk to the beach and golf club.

Friends recommended Ahipara as the perfect place to stop before going to Cape Reinga. There was a bit of confusion around camp grounds when we arrived (we used google maps and campermate), and we took a wrong turn, but eventually landed safely at Ahipara Holiday Park for the evening. Once we settled we jumped on our bikes and after just a few minutes were biking on 90 Mile Beach which was pretty cool. Hubby went for a swim as the sun was going down. Spectacular! As you enter the camp ground you drive down a long drive and there are security cameras. It did make us wonder where we had landed. But the grounds were lush, the toilets and facilities clean and the welcome was warm and friendly. We were in large self-contained camper vans and hubby decided that we could just drive around the sites and have a look - that wasn't such a great idea as our large campers were difficult to drive around the meandering site. If he had listened to the instructions it would have been fine to simple drive straight ahead and take our spot on the well presented, flat ground. So just a tip that if you do have campervans to be mindful of the size and perhaps walk the lots rather than drive.…

We stayed in a cabin, no 9, 2 bdm great shower, very comfortable and great value. Cabins, backpacker hostel, your own caravan or tent the options are great and cooking & bathroom facilities are very good and clean. Great BBQ area and nice inside area for those wet days. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I visit Ahipara holiday park for some well deserved rest and relaxation and was pleasently surprised to find very friendly staff who were very accommodating to all of my needs and wishes. Their cabins are clean and tidy and are equipped with everything that you need and all set in beautiful surroundings and only a 2 minute walk to one of the most breathtaking beaches in the North 90 mile beach. I will definitely be back. Thank you Sandy and your amazing team.

We stayed in a standard cabin and it was just perfect to minimize the amount of stuff to pack when camping. We took our own fan which I would recommend as it's warm. the balcony was a nice touch so we could sit in the evening. Perfect little size and the fridge and power was a bonus. The springs were a little uncomfortable on the bed but still ok. We will stay again.

This is a wonderful place. The hosts rescued us by providing accommodation at the last minute over the Easter long weekend when our booked Airb&b didn't work out. The cabin was very clean, private and a relaxing place to hang out in. We enjoyed taking our doggie for early evening walks around the camp's beautiful grounds and seeing children and families socialising, having fun which was a great friendly vibe. Just a short walk to the beach to watch the sunsets was another bonus. This is a gem of a place and we will be back!

What a delightful lovely spot where you feel like a guest, and can feel at home. Find your own campsite among the trees. Everything so clean and tidy. Everything you could need and not old or run down as with most. Great facilities and common areas, quiet, with lovely grounds. Very impressed and can't think of any negatives.

Ahipara is magnificent, bring an old surf board stay at the best holiday park in Northland. It's absolutely unique and a garden paradise. Worth the drive. Stay either on a site or in the modern cabins for a break from the road. Authentic NZ!
