It was a cold, wet winter day and we really fancied something to eat and drink. Only place that was open was the Glenorchy hotel. It’s a proper little gem with great tasting and value food, and a good selection of things to drink. The open fire is just awesome and the friendly staff were great too.

We randomly popped in here for lunch and the food offering was complete stodge. As we lurked further away the choices were much better. Not a bad place for a beer but don’t go here expecting even a half decent pub lunch

Funny how you can comment on our menu when you did not even dine with us.... Lurking is probably what you do best so maybe just stick with that!

We stayed at the bar for dinner, the environment was awesome Irish bar style. The burgers we ordered are the best ever I have had, better than Fergburger at QT. The waitor was very welcoming to us. Highly Recommend!!

We stayed for 5 days in mid-October for a memorial weekend for a local cousin. A great welcome from friendly staff and made to feel right at home. Our room was all we required. While they won't be holding the Olympic cat-swinging competition in the ensuite any time soon, the facilities were all we required...nice hot shower, toilet, plenty of clean towels, warm room in very chilly weather and a very comfortable bed. We were not there to spend all our time in our room, I could do that at home. Tea and coffee-making facilities in our room was very welcome and plenty of cold milk in the fridge in the hallway. Also useful for that 'doggy bag' from dinner to enjoy next morning. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, the food was excellent (lamb shanks to die for) and a true Southern welcome from the many locals in the bar. Friendships were made and plenty of tall tales and laughter ensued. Log fire was wonderful after riding horses in the rain and some cold local walks. Many thanks to Tim and please pass on our thanks to your staff.

Firstly thank you for deciding to stay at our Hotel for the week. The weather was not so good but the lamb shanks and fire kept you warm on one of the nights. Most people that stay with us are out and about, and you are right dont stay in their room. I will pass your comments onto our staff and chefs. Thank you for the honest review as all too often this site is full of super porkies! Cheers and thank you.
