When you rewind your life and look at the highs, I will always have Blanket Bay in that list. God was on form the day this was done. The staff are wonderful, attentive but never in your face, The food is sublime. The rooms are stunning. The location is heaven. It changes all the time and in minutes but it never fails to deliver. If you get a chance to helicopter to Milford Sound - take it!! We were lucky enough to meet the owners who are just the loveliest couple and so proud of their lodge and the wonderful staff and rightly so. I hope, one day, to be lucky enough to return. I already feel blessed that we were able to stay here.

We stayed at Blanket Bay for the last 3 nights of our month long trip from the top of New Zealand to the South. And we certainly kept the best till last. The Lodge is magnificent, built in an Alpine style, with spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu and the soaring Southern Alps. The staff are lovely and can not do enough for you. Our room was large, but cozy too and extremely comfortable, with a private patio area that caught the sun in the afternoon. The gourmet food was 5 star, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting other guests over pre-dinner drinks at the bar. We made use of the leisure facilities and even watched Lord of the Rings in the TV and games room! So apt as this magnificent Lodge sits so close to the filming location for Isengard. On our last morning, we were picked up

We had the pleasure of staying here as a final big treat towards the end of our 4 week holiday in New Zealand. It was wonderful. Our room had fabulous views of the mountains and a lovely big terrace with loungers. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t brilliant so we were unable to do the walking we had hoped for. Instead I had a couple of massages, so good and so relaxing. We also used to swimming pool on a couple of occasions, both times we were the only ones there, but it’s lovely and warm and has a great big picture window at one end with the most scenic view. The cocktails before dinner were lovely and a great time to chat with both staff and other guests. The dinners were amazing and the breakfast too. It an expensive treat, but definitely very special if you can do it. We

One of the most well designed and perfectly situated lodges in the world. Absolutely stunning. We were blown away! Beyond the wow factor. Every room has a perfect view. Rooms are very comfortable and contain every amenity you could possibly need. The food was good, although definitely leaning toward French cuisine. Breakfast, Dinner, and happy hour drinks are included with the rate. Grounds are beyond immaculate and so well designed to frame that picture-perfect view. Staff is very international (which we love) and exceptionally friendly. There are several short hikes you can do on the lodge property and also several nearby hikes. We were planning to do the Routeburn Day Hike, but it was closed due to flooding. Instead, the lodge staff recommended the Mount

We wanted to be outside of Queenstown in a more remote location but still close enough to do certain activities. This extremely well run lodge is in an incredible scenic spot. We were picked up from the front lawn for our helicopter ride to glaciers and Milford sound. Jetboating was 5 mins away in Glenorchy (cancelled due to a dust storm), sky diving is next door if thats your thing. Hiking on one of the great treks of NZ within a 10 min drive (closed for the season due to storm damage). The owners of the lodge happened to be there and chatted with guests and seemed genuinely interested in what people thought and hearing about their experiences. The manager is excellent here and the younger staff really well trained and pleasant. Food varied and "elevated". Enjoyed the
