Fabulous ski in/out location, staying in a very spacious studio room that is modern, fully equipped with kitchen & laundry, comfortable king size bed, looking out to Mt Yotei.
Ski lockers are all “in-house” so boots are nice dry & warm for the next day. Good food & beers at Three Trees Cafe within hotel.
Staff always friendly & helpful.

We are just finishing up our stay for the second year in a row at The Maples in Niseko. When we came last year, it had been opened for only a few weeks and didn’t have any restaurants on site. This year, they have both Rokketo and Three Trees Cafe on site - which makes a huge difference......think great coffee onsite every morning before you head off for the slopes! And they also offer hot breakfasts.

The location is amazing. It is truly a ski in/out option. Even the hotels based at the bottom of the slope still need to walk up with gear to the chairlift but from The Maples, you just need to ski down from your apartment basement level where the lockers are located which store all your gear.

Apartment servicing is great. We stayed 5 nights and had full servicing on 2 days. And staff very accommodating to help with clearing bins in between and giving additional amenity supplies in between.

On both stays, we have experienced amazing service from the concierge. On this stay especially which was over NYE period, even though we were booking with late notice, all of our requests were managed and bookings confirmed before we arrived.

It’s a spacious apartment (2 bedroom on 5th floor, with views up the mountain and onto ski slope). Furnishings and appliances are top quality.

We’re already planning return trip this season and will for su4e stay here again.

Maples apartments are beautifully appointed with excellent fittings and decor. Service from staff during our stay was excellent. Having the ski lockers right near the slope makes it very easy to ski in and out. Ski side view is beautiful.

The Maples Niseko was so many times greater then what I had imagined. For staters the rooms where much bigger then I would have thought, especially given the sizes of average room in Japan (tiny) - and we were in a studio apartment!
They had a king sized bed, a dining and kitchen area, large walk in robe and a reasonable bathroom.
I could not fault the bedrooms, it was like living in luxury.
The staff were also fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Most speak great English so communication is never an issue.

Down stairs they have locker rooms to store your snow gear as you are not allowed to bring it back to your rooms. I have to say that I was so impressed by the state of the locker rooms, as they are better then anything I have seen at other locations. Full sized lockers big enough for clothes plus multiple boards/skis. The rooms are warm and carpeted. Exactly what is needed for a hotel with direct assess to the slopes.

The location of the hotel is in the Main Street at the Grand Hirafu area of the mountain, which is the biggest and most lively area of Niseko. Great place to stay if you enjoy eating and drinking out with plenty of variety.
Access to the slopes is as easy as it gets, literally strap in at the back door and you’re already on the slopes. The hotel backs onto a green family run which has a quad chair at its base which can take you to all areas of the mountain. Honestly this hotel and our time at Niseko was the highlight of our trip.

Certainly will be recommending this place to everyone, could not have imagined a better hotel.
Online photos are accurate also!!

This was the second time staying at the The Maples, loved the location, ski in ski out convenience and size of the room, this time it was myself, my wife and son, we stayed in a Deluxe room which was perfect for a small family, has a kitchen which was great for getting out on the slopes quickly every morning. Location is good walking distance to all the restaurants and supermarket. The hotel doesn't have an onsen but you can use the onsen in the prince hotel directly adjacent for 2000Yen adult/1000Yen child which we did on multiple occasions. Just before we arrived rain had washed all the snow away but the hotel was very accommodating in providing transport to Hanazono on the two days our son had lessons. The snow wouldn't stop pouring from the third day so we decided to extend for another two days, big thanks to the manager Blake for helping us find a room to extend. A massive shout out to Katie from the conciege who if it wasn't for her help we would not have managed to find transport to the airport, it was holiday season and all the taxi companies were fully booked so we were so grateful for her help. Overall a great holiday and will definately come again, big thanks to the whole team!

Great location - centrally locates within walking distance to restaurants and shops, ski in/out. Facilities are modern and clean and staff is friendly and helpful. 2 bedroom perfect for family of 4, including washer/drier. Rhythm Rental onsite for easy returns and inquiries. Only downsides are for the price would be nice to have a gym and onsen onsite.

It was so good to be so close to the slopes. The proximity of the boot room to the entry to the family ski run made it easy to get going skiing! The Maples is also very close to some of the best restaurants and bars.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
But perhaps the best thing was our apartment, we had our three adult children with us and used two bedrooms and a tatami in a third sectioned off area. We also had three bathrooms. The kitchen was well facilitated, and the washer dryer was also very useful.
The Maples is particularly good for anyone who is in Niseko for a short period and wants to make the most of their time. We were there for four nights and loved every minute of our time at The Maples and in Niseko.

We stayed in one of the studio situated on the lobby level.

The good stuff :
1. Arrived at noon and room was ready - so very lucky
2. Room is very spacious and modern
3. Very clean kitchen is very well equipped
4. Ski in ski out is a real blessing for skiers
5. Onsite rhythm counters making returns of rental equipments a breeze
6. Response is very fast when i could not find the switch to turn off the kitchen lights

The not too good stuff:
1. There is no onsen on site which would be heavensent after a tiring day on the slopes
2. No social area with a bar overlooking the slopes apart from roketto restaurant located on the 1st floor but roketto seats are meant for a restaurant and not a place to chill after a long day. We ended going to chalet ivy or tap room for drinks
3. Kitchen can do with some kitchen disposal towels
4. Sharp corners of the kitchen cabinets making it easy to knock your head if you're not careful
5. Washing machine is not a combo meaning that clothes out from washer and dryer is only 90% dry but a clothesline is provided which takes up space and make washing troublesome
6. Weak front door sound proof enabling you to hear every footsteps or conversation of passers-by
7. There is a space by the window that would be great to have a sofa or love seat
8. King size bed is really 2 twin combined
9. 2 pillows provided per room
10. Some electrical items are faulty: bedside usb charger doesn't charge and rice cooker couldn't cook using quick functions

Room is clean and spacious. I ve got a room with the Yotei view and the view is simply great. The ski-in/ski-out is super convenient so you dont have to carry your ski equipments to ski lift. Ski equipments can be returned to Rhythm by simply leaving them in the locker. All in all, very nice stay and will definitely come again next year.

The Maples is a wonderful new complex very centrally located. The ski-in ski-out is a huge bonus and made getting ready super easy for my family of first time skiers . Our apartment was very spacious, with a gorgeous view over the Family Run. I know other apartments are much smaller though. We were able to ski out and be on the chairlift straight from The Maples. Was great to also grab a morning coffee while still in my slippers from the on-site cafe. Would have loved a bath in the apartment to relax after a day skiing, though there is a onsen only a few minutes walk away.

Hi - am planning a ski trip to Niseko 18 Dec. Is there a cafe or restaurant in Maples?
Answer from Sue O

We stayed at The Maples in early March 2019. As stated in other answers above, there is a restaurant at the Maples. We only had cocktails there so I can't comment on the food. We didn't eat there because there are plenty of restaurants within easy walk of the Maples. There's lots of fabulous choices in Upper and Lower Hirafu (Niseko). Conceirge at The Maples were helpful and there are lots of reviews on Trip Advisor to help make your choice.
