A very warm welcome by the family made us feel like at home. Very beautiful rooms and also the breakfast was way above standard. Although at that time no diner was normally served, Liza prepared diner for us, with the creativity of the moment.
A very warm and enthousiast welcome by Liza. You feel really at home. Liza is so helpful and has an excellent knowledge of the area. A great place to stay for winter and summer break. Beautiful surroundings, lots to do.
We really loved this beautiful B+B, the hosts were fantastic and we wish we could have stayed longer. My partner and I were on a road trip and we had problems with our car, it had to go in the garage and we were delayed getting to La Portette, we didn't arrive until late in the evening, the hosts, Liza and Andy, were great. They were very understanding which was a great relief after the stress of our car. We were even greeted with proper English tea. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was a lovely spread of bacon and eggs, cereal, fruit, cheese, pastries and a lovely view of Mont Balnc. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality, we will be back one winter! Many thanks, Nicola and Stan :-)
The rooms are very beautiful with many lovely details. The room we got has nice mountain view, to wake up with this view is hard to explain.... amazing ☺☺☺☺ The owner family is extremely friendly, within a minute you feel home. The morning we get perfect breakfast, including bacon and eggs in British style, very tasty. All guest are welcome to join the family in their big kitchen for dinner and breakfast. We had nice multi culti group with nice talks.
I stayed with my 2 daughters in La Portette in early April, and had a fantastic stay. I think what we enjoyed most was the personal friendly touch. From the moment we were met at Landry station, to being dropped back to Bourg St Maurice station we felt like we were old friends being welcomed to stay. The chalet is in the village of Montorlin a short trip down from Montchavin. We've stayed in the area several times before, but never more than a short walk from the lifts. This wasn't an issue at all, as Liza dropped us up for the first lift in Les Coches each morning and collected us towards the end of the day within a few minutes of us calling, almost too easy! It was lovely to stay in a smaller more traditional farming village, and as it was spring the kids were able to play outside in the evenings. It's a lovely old farmhouse, that retains character throughout, with a more modern top floor. In truth the chalet is all about the top communal floor, where breakfast, afternoon cake, and dinner was available daily. A large open plan area is ideal to spend time with family and new friends. The views across the valley to Bourg St Amurice and beyond are stunning. The food all week was great courtesy of the chalet hosts Harry and Chris, with cooked breakfast option, and flexibility on evening meal times for adults and kids, and always served with a smile! We love the ski area of Paradiski, and this is an ideal place to enable skiing both Les Arcs and La Plagne, we'd happily return to La Portette to enjoy the friendliness, the food and the skiing again. Thanks Liza, Andy, (& Camille!), Harry, Chris…
