I stayed here with two other friends in the Deluxe Twin room. Don't let the name mislead you though, you get two very nice sized double beds in the Deluxe Twin room. It looks like they took two smaller rooms and combined them into a larger deluxe room. The couch was very nice although we did move the position of the TV so that you could watch it from the bed. The Deluxe Twin rooms are also located on a non-smoking floor which was great~

This place is very convenient for getting around - it's only a 3-5 minute (depending on your pace) walk to the Kintetsu Kawachi Kosaka station. The station itself is also quite nice, it's small but not too small (the normal and semi limited expresses stop here). You can also buy passes at the station. If you went to go to downtown Osaka you can transfer at Tsuruhashi to the JR Loop Line.

Near the hotel are a few restaurants, crepes, a great bakery with shu-creams, and a couple laundrymats (they do not have laundry on site, only dry-cleaning that they will send out for you for quite a bit of $$$ ). The hotel is also directly across from a 7-eleven and there is another convenience store less than a block away. There are also two grocery stores nearby, one that is even open 24-7! In the 24 hour grocery is a Daiso (100 yen store) but it's not open 24/7.

We only ate at the on-site restaurant once for lunch but we ate at the cafeteria across the street a couple times. Good food, we just found other places we preferred nearby.

There is a fitness club that you can get passes to, but it is quite a walk away (about 10 minutes or so). We decided to pass on the club this time.

A nice little perk was that we got a free bottle of water every day (a bottle per person).

A word of warning for English-language travelers - the people at the front desk can not speak English, so come with a translator or a friend that can help you out.

For some reason it was the hardest to find good price/quality hotel in Osaka than other cities, so U-Community appeared as the top choice.
Positives:
- Good location, 3 min walking from the Kawachi-Kosaka station
- Good price/quality/comfort ratio (though room is standard Japanese small size)
- Two 24/7 shops next to the hotel
- Coin laundry service is 5 min walk (very cheap) though it could be in hotel
- Directly on Nara line, so it's easy to get there
- Vending/ice-machine in the hotel

Negatives:
- If you plan to stay late in the city (Dontombori area), the last metro goes around 00:00. Otherwise you need to take taxi
- If you're coming from Shin-Osaka/Osaka station be sure you get on local train for Nara direction, not express one, otherwise you lose 30min going 10 station more before it stops

Stayed for two nights during our Osaka-Kyoto-Kobe trip. My party includes my parents and my 11 month old boy.

Stayed in the family room comprising of two queen beds. The room and even the bathroom was spacious. Flat screen TV, DVD player, kettle and air humidifier are part of the standard room equipment.

The wifi is provided for free and the reception was excellent. Plug adaptors and phone chargers were available for no extra charge or deposit.

Hotel staff were helpful. We were offered complimentary choice of bottled drinks (Evian, Volvic, Iced tea etc) on check in.

A convenience store and AEON supermarket is across the street from the hotel.

We engaged a driver-cum-guide for this trip and paid a flat rate to park the van at the hotel carpark.

The hotel is easily identified once you come down from the Kawachi Kosaka station (Kintetsu Line), few stations away from the Namba station. The neighborhood is really quiet and there are a few restaurant/pub open until late night. Two convenient stall at 1 minute walking distance (7-11 and Family mart) and AEON supermarket is just right beside the hotel. Satisfy with the stay and do enjoy also a free bottle of water per day.

The U-community hotel was selected for me by Japanese friends and I found it to be very economical and comfortable with charming staff.

They do not do breakfast but have a little restaurant and also there are several convenience stores within a very short distance.

My single room was compact and the en-suite was very clean and I was very content.

For convenience the U-community hotel is ideally placed, it is a short walk from the station and you can get trains everywhere from there. The rail staff usually have a smattering of English and the maps are very adequate so fear not intrepid traveller, sally forth and have no fear.

The people are very friendly and helpful and their country is a wonderful feast for the eyes.

I went to Kyoto, the Nara district and Hiroshima by bullet train (it puts our trains to shame - if a train is a minute late an apology is announced and they really mean it!).

I spent two delightful weeks in Japan and intend to return, try the food, especially the pickled ginger and enjoy the culture.

They have wonderful history, temples, shrines and stunning countryside to share with us.

Japan was on my bucket list and I will go back if I can.

Extremely small room and bed, but good sized bathroom. Kind of expensive for what it is. Breakfast is good and rich, and food at the restaurant is also good. Certainly needs updates. Convenient location close to the subway.

We stayed 4 nights at U community hotel during 12-15 Oct 15, the hotel fully equip with everything we need, free wifi, full lavatory supply, big flat creen, refrigerator, hair dryer plus your drink of choice 1 bottle a day per pax which you need to collect from front desk each day. Some additional amenity also available free of charge at front desk. The area has many universities around, only 10 min by train trip to Namba by Kintetsu Nara Line get off at Kawachikosaka Station and walk 2 min to hotel. Infront of hotel is 7-11 and family mart. next to the left of hotel is big super market, 24 hour Maxvalue full of fresh foods, vegetables and fruits also Daiso, 100 yean shop. Infront of the station is 24 hours McDonald. Train cost 260 Yen one way to Namba station. Kansai area has a lot of saving transport pass which you can select to suit your trip both JR and private trains ex Kansai Suruto Pass which can be used in all private train company including Kintetsu/ Hanshin/ Hankyu with you can select days for each pass to match your trip in Kansai region. We bought 2 days kansai suruto pass from Nara and dropped our bag at U community hotel and continue our trip to Himeji and Kobe on our first day, the second day we went to Koyasan with the pass you can hop in hop off all buses in Koyasan area and return back to U community hotel after stop by numba for shopping and eating which is so good of the pass as convenience access to the hotel. Likewise if you use JR pass you may look for hotel that close to JR station as your base with no extra pay for train.

I booked this hotel at the last minute due to a change of plans. I was very exhausted when I got to the hotel from all my previous traveling and walking. I couldn't be happier with the room. It had everything one could need for a nice and comfortable stay. I stayed in a single room. The layout was very efficient and functional. The bed was of a good size and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean and all toiletries were provided including a cup and set of toothbrush and toothpaste. The shower height could be adjusted and water pressure was great. One thing though, the bathroom was raised from quite high from the floor level so the ceiling was a bit low. Someone very tall could have an issue with that. So if you're very tall, you may want to check with the hotel about the bathroom's ceiling height. The room also came with a TV, closet, spacious desk, nice chair, and a desk lamp.

The location of the hotel is great, not too far from Namba and the surrounding area is filled with convenience stores, shops and small local restaurants. There's a McDonald's if you get up early and want to get breakfast. I saw some local cafes that open early and serve breakfast too but didn't get to try. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the train station and the walk is very easy. The rail line to the hotel (Kintetsu Nara line) belongs to a different company from other major subway lines to touristy areas though. So you may have to pay separate fare if you transfer to another line like Midosuji line.

All in all, I was very impressed with U Community Hotel and definitely will be back here if I come back to Osaka. The price is very affordable, the room is great. I also would love to explore the area more as I only stayed for 1 night. To me, it felt like being a local walking out of the hotel and seeing all the shops and activities along the walk to and around the station.

There are good things to mention about the hotel, especially the 3-4 persons bedrooms are very spacious. As we are a bigger family, we needed 2 rooms and we got them on different floors, this never happened to me before and I was not really happy with the way it got resolved (although staff did their best). As the location required a lot of travel to get to the sights in Osaka, I would not choose the hotel again, but if the location is fine for you, I can definitively recommend.

Although the location is far away from the city center of Osaka, you will not disappointed. Facilities and staffs are nice. We stayed in a family room type, with 4 person capacity. The room is spacious, complete with a sofa, big flat screen TV, small fridge and coffee maker. The hotel is only 5 minutes walking distance to Kawachi Kosaka train station, surrounded by some small shops and convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, 100 Yen Shop, etc.
Hotel environment is quiet and peaceful, recommended for staying with family. One more important thing, the wifi internet connection speed is excellent.
