Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

5 stories high but quite small for an Onsen hotel. The 6th floor roof had 6 private bath rooms where you could reserve for an hour of indulging your body in the natural hot spring while looking out over the sea. Coffee was free but the food was not included so they recommended another place close by that had a very filling course of noodles, rice, tempura and sushi along with 2 tiny desserts of baked egg custard and green tea pudding. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and functional. The main bath had an outside pool and also a sauna. I needed that to steam me so I could use the scrubbing lotion to get off all the dead skin on my legs. This prepared me for the long walk around the village the next day.

We had quite a bit of difficulty trying to locate the hotel because they did not feature their English name. Thus, make sure you see their Japanese name, otherwise, you won't be able to locate this hotel. However, the residents in the area were very helpful and tried their best to lead my family and I to this ryokan. It seems like everyone in the area knew this ryokan. Upon reaching, the hotel staffs were very courteous and friendly and tried their best in explaining to us how to hotel works and what was the operating hours of the onsen and all, in Japanese of course. Our room did not have showering facilities, only the toilet itself. We were initially kind of surprised, but it didn't really matter because we had used the hotel's onsen and therefore took a shower at the onsen area afterwards. Thus, it didnt' caused us any problem. We had a very nice room with a small balcony and had a nice sea view.
