For the amount of money paid, compared to others hotels, there's no variety of food, the pool is to small, the jacuzzi is not very well maintained, and the beach is full of rocks, nice rooms, with good views to the sea, service good, although the uniforms are.. strange...

I stayed at this hotel (Wyndham is my prefered line of hotels here in Panama) with my husband and two other relatives. This hotel at Playa Corona is/was not ready to receive guests and it is at lower standards. The pool should be presented as a big unappealing fountain area (not for swimming, who are they kidding?) Our room's bathroom - into the living area was flooded. Since it was Sunday, according to management, no one was available to fix it so they gave us a different room with lower standards than the flooded one. There is only one restaurant serving all meals. In our visit there were children screaming and running as if it was a playground. Dinner rolls were drop from the buffet counter to the floor. Children put them back. I complaint otherwise waiters would have ignored it because as they told me they do not want problems with the children's parents. For an all inclusive hotel, snack were limited. The two days we were there they only served popcorn, nachos and two hotdogs. They told me if I wanted something different to go to the stand at the beach. When I got there they had hot dogs and had run out of sausages on a stick and some grilled meat. I will not come back to this place!

Sadly this hotel/ condo has no amenities. The restaurant and bar are both closed. The pool on the social area floor was also closed. It is 3km from the highway. Without a car, you have no means of getting to a store to buy groceries. The units are not very fancy. There is a small kitchenette with a microwave, a ceramic stove top and a bar fridge. The water is not filtered so you have to buy water. The beach is deserted. The beach front is a bit rocky but further down the beach it is very sandy.

My wife and I had been spending the month of January '13 in Panama City. We decided to drive to Boquete to spend a few days and on the way, about 90 minutes into the trip, around Playa Corona, we saw a sign advertising this property. So we pulled off the Panamerican Highway and drove roughly a half mile into the beach and found this hotel. It was very quiet. We parked and went inside, looked around and talked to a few people. The place is located on a really and truly private beach in a neighborhood of upscale single family homes along the beach. The hotel is still smelling like a new car and spanking clean. We liked what we saw. Based on this impression we booked the hotel for a stopover on the way back to PC after our visit to Boquete, Volcán and area. We arrive on a Friday prior to a holiday weekend.....and found a small but lively group arriving. We off loaded our own bags......the check in was slow but extremely courteous and helpful.......we were assigned to a choice suite on the 12th floor with great views of the beaches (virtually deserted except for diving birds).....we were on an all-inclusive rate so dinner, breakfast and lunch the next day were included in the rate. The suite was a delight.....spacious, spotless and on a hot January day, the A/C cooled the room to nice temperatures within an hour. The food in the restaurant was not remarkable, but ample and OK. As far as I can tell, no English is spoken in this hotel.......so the English only and unadventurous traveler might not thrive here......but they really try to take care of you. I believe if anglos start to find this place they'll seek out English speakers for the staff.....up 'til, apparently mostly Latinos come here. The English speaking traveler should give this a try.
Most of the staff live nearby and they seem to love their jobs and are anxious to please. It's a small town atmosphere. They have small convention space here.......you can look on their website ibizachic.com (Playa Corona) and get a good (and accurate) idea of what the hotel really looks like. This is a great stop for families with young children......the beach is safe, clean and very private....and the facility is child friendly. It's a little tricky to find but just remember "Playa Corona". For a quiet weekend or a beach-time weekend, this is a fine place. Prices are reasonable and it's an easy drive from Panama City......very quiet.

How come Wyndham agrees to put its name in a place like this...
Rooms are dirty, the overall quality of construction is poor, there is no beach just rocks
The pool is dirty and small, guests with food and drinks in the pool
Food is poor to say the least, greasy food, very small buffet for an all inclusive
How come this dump charge more than 200 USD a night.....incredible
Do yourself a favor, dont even consider this place nor Playa Corona, the location is just the worst

This hotel is one spoof after the other. Not a Wyndham at all. Bad food (cold hot dogs, late and incomplete breakfast, poor cleaning). I could just go on and on. The pool is small. Check in took two hours.

This place is a dump compared to other wyndhams. Its not even up to the name .
If you wanted a familly place ...no go. This seems to have been a previous apartment buliding turned into a hotel.....not to sharp
First of all a hard place to spot..no one there. The only guy in the loby is not to friendly but does his job .
The room is a micro studio .at least it was clean and smelled good. The bath room had no water presure ..imagine the complications.
The social area on the 4 th floor has a limited pool ..probably fits 30 persons at a time . The water Was GREEN....as if hadnt been cleaned in days or weeks...a real heath hazard.
The eating area is right next to the pool area .
The beach area is about 20 meters in all....clean at least.
As i mentioned before ...all clean and the personel at the pool-dinning room area were freindly.
As i was with my wife and children we decided to leave as fast as we could.
Must say that the guy at the front desk gave us no problem at all...just said a full refund would be refunded.
(I think its not the first time that had happened )
So ....if you have other options ...put this place well below the last one .

Two days of sunshine are enough for me, I just fry otherwise. The Wyndham made those 2 days extremely enjoyable, loved all the shaded areas they provide, thought it was well laid out. Good bar areas good staff (especially for Panama) except in the gift shop. And for an inclusive, thought the food was very good. Entertainment energetic and fun.
