Had a great couple of nights. Authentic old town hotel that has been refurbished while maintaining the old hotel character feel and ambience. Locked bike storage at the rear and 3 car chargers for EVs. Loved our stay.

Such a quaint little place full of good old NZ small town history.
It triggered memories of staying in my paternal grandparents' hotel as a child.
Accommodation was clean and comfortable.
Our charming hostess served up a very good breakfast at her kitchen table next morning to our small group of cycling companions.
A refreshing departure from the clinical uniformity of the usual modern hotel rooms. This was filled with character!

Such a quaint and lovely historic building. It clearly has had a lot of care put onto the renovations to maintain the historic character of the place. It was a good nights stay on our cycle trip. Would recommend .

The accommodation is ok but does not fit the description of 4 star rating. Closer 2.5 star The rooms were clean and presentable. There were a number of dead flies along the window pane so it felt like the room had not been used for some days.
I had a decent hot shower but the others in my travelling group had very little hot water. I suspect the hot water system cannot cope with adjoining rooms using the shower at the same time
We stayed in Te Anau the next night (40 minutes down the road) for a cheaper rate and much better accommodation

Aggressive hosts suggested a couple in our party had children in our group ( all of us over 60 with no hangers on) who had broken the window in their room which absolutely was not done by the couple. Took $450 out of the credit card without agreement. Other issues in other rooms - tv didnt work ( apparently happens often). Only option for boiling jug was to plug it into shavers plug which didnt seem ideal. Definitely would not stay again or encourage others to do so.

Wonderfully appointed comfortable accommodation.Perfect for our group of 10 Around the Mountains cyclists. Cycle storage and charging plus available kitchen was excellent! We will be back again to experience the soon to be opened bar facility
