We chose this gorgeous haven for a weekend getaway and fell in love with it. The Bach was spacious, elegant, private and brilliantly designed to accommodate extended family and friends if needed. But this time it was just us and what a perfect weekend we had. The view across the vineyard down to the river rivals Tuscany, and the west...

Absolutely serene setting with panoramic views and tuis singing in the trees. The comfy beds, the weber and the daily service combined to make it an unforgetable experience. We were celebrating a 65th birthday so the idyllic accommodation topped off a very special weekend in this region.

Awesome Bach, very well laid out & spacey, great views and very quiet. Very good ambience all round. Great setup for pleasure or business and easily accessible from Matakana Village. Very good breakfast and lunch:)

We recently stayed for 2 nights and we wished it was longer. The bach was big and very private. Everything we needed from a full kitchen and bbq, to a tv in the bedroom and a gas fireplace was provided. The two decks meant we could sit on whichever one was shettled from the wind. We will definitely be coming...

This large property houses at least a dozen baches but they are spatially laid out in groups of four so you do not feel like you are in a crowded location. Our bach, #1, was very private, I was worried by the driveway running alongside it but this did not create any noise of concern, in fact the location was...

We stayed here halfway through our north-half-of-North-Island trip. I consciously arranged that we stayed in a variety of accomodations: large and small hotels, B&Bs, lodges, and this bach-type (luxury bach, I'd say) accommodation. What fun! The bach is well-supplied, although "bedroom" spaces are small. Bathrooms were small but functional. If staying longer and dining within the bach, you'd have everything...

This is an idyllic location with superb accommodation - a quiet little place set in a majestic landscape. The perfect nook to retreat to after stocking up at the local market, to lounge around in front of the fire, drinking locally sourced wines and playing a friendly endless tournament of Yahtzee.

My partner and I had the most peaceful and relaxing weekend away at Riverside Matakana. The Bach we stayed in was immaculate and surrounded in absolute tranquility. It was by far the best place that we have stayed in. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend away. Thank you Riverside, we will definitely be coming back.

We escaped the kids for two nights with some friends and enjoyed a well designed, beautifully appointed bach. Our bach, number 3 had great views across the valley and even though we had a weekend of rain, the included sky package ensured the days were filled with some international sport. Great set up, we will definitely be back.
