We recently stayed at Waiarjipa Homestead at the beginning (Feb) and end (Mar) of a wonderful 5 week vacation in NZ. Jill and Robert were very accomodating hosts and the suite was well equiped, comfortable and quiet. They also provided us with a room in their home for a couple of nights when the suites were full and we had given them short notice. The homestead is conveniently located, just a short drive into Papakura to catch the train into Auckland as well as being near the motorway, a pub and small grocery store. I expect we will be making a return visit to Waiarjipa within a couple of years.

Perfect for what we needed. Arrived at Auckland airport with our 2 young children in tow from the UK and drove straight to the farm house to be welcomed by the lovely owners. The accommodation was very homely and clean. The kids loved staying on the farm and being able to meet the pets! Especially Will the pet sheep and Molly the dog! Highly recommend this place especially those with a family and who want to experience proper New Zealand lifestyle and beauty! Thanks Robert and Jill for making our trip so memorable!

We found this Homestay and B & B when searching for places to stay near Ardmore airfield. It was a great experience and we did full B& B.
Jill & Rob are great hosts and our grandson had a ball with the animals, pool and trampoline whilst we relaxed on the huge deck area after being amongst the city bustle!
The location means easy access to motorways, trains, buses. We will be returning to Waiarjipa for another stay.

Many say that a New Zealand trip would be complete with a bungy jump. I reckon our New Zealand trip would not be so complete and perfect without the stay in Waiarjipa.

Waiarjipa is a real hidden gem in the outskirt of Auckland. In fact, I discovered this beautiful homestead by chance, as you can’t find it in most of the online reservation portals.

On the day we arrived, the moment our car reached the front entrance of the homestead, Robert, the host, gave us a warm welcome. He showed us around with so many surprises and the children couldn’t wait to start their exploration.

We bought some carrots and Jill taught us how to feed the donkey and the goats. The donkey was a glutton and it could gobble down the whole carrot from our hands if not held tightly. The children found it resembling the donkey in the movie “Shrek” and the way it chewed extremely amusing!

There were 2 very smart pigs in the homestead which got overexcited when we tried to feed them with pellets. Not to forget to mention the 2 dogs which played football with the children! Oh, and the cats and the sheep.......

Growing up in the city, the children only saw cauliflowers in the supermarkets or on dining tables. This was their first “encounter” with the real unharvested ones on the ground.

We could not believe this sensational homestead was once a dilapidated house when Jill and Robert bought over. Robert showed us some photos of the original run-down property and they had really done a tremendous job, put in stupendous effort to turn it to this lovely place today.

Our self-contained unit was excellent – spotless and roomy - most suitable for a family like us. There were 2 rooms and 2 TVs, one in each, and some board games in the built-in wardrobe for the children..

Thank you Jill, thank you Robert. Your hospitality has made our last stop in New Zealand so remarkably memorable!

Quiet relaxing Farm Stay with clean good facilities. It is correctly advertised and the host are very helpful and friendly.
It is in easy walking distance to the village with a pub for lunches and dinner and also take away shops.
There is also a Bus stop, close to the motorway,Airport and Auckland City.
We found it good value for money with some lovely farm animals as well as friendly pets.

We booked in for three weeks and ended up staying for a year in their Cottage

We had to get away from all the noise as the builders had to remove Gib plaster board and framing then replace with new framing and stairs to new second story. The noise was incredible. We spent 3 peaceful nights at Waiarjipa Homestead, we really appreciated the quiet, the beautiful gardens and lovely surrounds. The unit was spacious with above average kitchen and bathroom room.

We startet our three month trip from here and it was a very good decision! Jill and Robert -wonderful people - helped us to get ready for the big adventure. this peaceful place, the calm atmosphere of everything and everybody made us feel very soon very welcome! our two little kids LOVED that place and still they are talking about Jill and Robert, the dogs and Mitch and Dot…! From there we organized everything for the journey, we visited Auckland, and got familiar with the New Zealand way of life. Our hosts helped us not only with finding good stores, fixing cars (:-)) and using internet, they also talked with us a lot about there beautiful Country and we planed our route with all their knowledge and experience. We had many hosts in that time - but our number one will always be Mr and Mrs Korving!!!

We stayed in the Waiarjipa Homestead with our two small children ( 2 and 3 yrs) for about two weeks at the end of a six week motorhome travel around NZ. We looked for a peacful place in the country which is also near to a City. We found it in Drury, in the Waiarjipa Homestead of Jill and Robert. The two are lovely and very open-hearded people. They gave us a real feel of home away from home.
Our kids loved all the animals, feeding them, pet them, collecting eggs or do little "works" in the paddock. The absolute highlight was driving the tractor and digger with Robert. Thank you! They will always remember.
Jill and Robert offer a huge garden deck for communal use. This is just paradies. You can find a quiet place to read a book, use one of the BBQ´s or play with the kids. There is a little play house and a lot of outdoor toys for children of all ages. We had a lot of fun at the garden trampolin as well. All animals (donkey, goat, dogs, cats, turtle, sheeps, chickens) are really friendly and used to children.

During our stay we did a lot of trips to Auckland and the Auckland-area. The drive into Downtown auckland takes about 30 Minuites. You can also use the nearby train. To the airport it is about 15-20 minutes drive.

In summary: Waiarjipa Homestaed is a perfect place for all kinds of travellers and we could especially recommend it for families with children.
We hope that we will be able to come back one time (from our home in germany).

I had the opportunity and pleasure of staying at Waiarjipa Homestead twice. My hosts, Jill and Robert Korving, are not only a well travelled couple but also excellent hoteliers when it comes to hospitality and directing their guests to the attractions in Auckland and the surrounding countryside. The Korvings are well informed, helpful and outgoing.

The Homestead is within walking distance of bus and with rail connections to Auckland and bus connections to Auckland Airport. They do offer an airport service if necessary. All of the units are self contained. Everyone has complete privacy if they want. All units are clean and modern. Shopping is close as is access to the SH 1. Guests are expected to look after themselves in terms of meals. Bar B Que facilities are available. The Homestead is in the country so that there is little in the way of noise or air pollution. Livestock; horses, goats, sheep and cattle are close at hand.

It is very seldom one is able to get first class treatment and the experience of being in the country when one is so close to a major metropolitan centre. I recommend The Homestead to anyone coming to the Auckland area. I will definitely be returning again.
