Detailed Reviews
When we arrived we had to go through clothes racks, suitcases, tripods and walk in the middle of a photoshoot to get to the reception. The hotel is fully booked and additionally there are photoshoots from brands happening. So when hanging at the pool there was an older Australian man telling young Balinese girls how to pose every few seconds. Not exactly a holiday feeling. The construction next door is also heard but not obnoxious compared to the constant pose commandos & people walking all around you.
Seems like the hotel is compromising and just looking for profit. Either they offer photoshoots at low season or when there are not a lot of guests or they are going to loose their guests and just get short term guests who are just here to take photos as well.
The hotel is beautiful. The girls working at hotel are all super nice. There is almost no food. They had good packaged snacks but I would of loved some small fresh snacks as well. Or a fresh smoothie bowl or juice. We had room #3. I didn’t lovee it. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the busy street was loud. The other rooms seem nicer.
10/10 for beauty
5/10 ambience
9/10 service

I stayed at Hotel Sages for 6 weeks during PPKM (Bali's covid lockdown) and I couldn't have been in a better place. It was so beautiful and comfortable, and I felt like I was living inside a spacious yet cozy artwork. The staff were amazing too- they became like family and I was so sad to leave them. Desy and the others (Rihani, Mia, Ayu) were so kind and helpful. I could tell they really cared about me and took pride in taking care of the hotel. They cleaned the rooms so thoroughly and carefully, minding my little altars everywhere haha, and going the extra mile with little things, like pulling the old hair out of my hairbrush and organizing my toiletries in the bathroom. So thoughtful. Rihani even gave me a flower out of her hair in passing one day and Mia helped me and my friends break open a tough coconut. Desy was there for anything I needed and I just felt so held and happy there. I miss them and the hotel so much! I will definitely be back. Also, Kirsty the ceramicist is super cool and an amazing teacher. I would recommend taking a clay club class or a series for sure!

I loved every second I spent at hotel Sages.
The place is stunning (every single esthetic detail has been thought off), in a calm neighborhood (which is rare in Canggu) and has a real home feeling. I instantly felt comfortable and was reminded of a family holiday house in Ibiza or the south of France.
The place also feels quite intimate as there are only 8 rooms.
The rooms are spacious and there are many common spaces which is really nice.
I would come back in a heartbeat . Thank you so much for the stay!

Unfortunately, this Hotel is a scam. The hotel manager has promised us a free cancellation, but has not returned the money for months despite multiple requests. They totally ignore all your requests. Absolute scammers and therefore not to recommend at all.

The hotel is very beautiful
But for the first time I have a bad experience with the hotel manager. And judging by the comments I'm not the only one.
When she arrived she claimed a system error (I see in the TripAdvisor comments) this is not the first time.
She then asks me to pay almost twice as much as expected!!!
In the end it's a misunderstanding, she agrees to give me my room at the price but once the key is given I realize that instead of the suite I have a normal room!!
