Food is consistently fresh and good, as is the service. Portions are a nice size. Bring your own bottle. They honor their reservations and you never wait more than 15 minutes, if that. The positano pasta is excellent.

We stayed here for two nights with our son as the location suited us well. It is also close to the airport if that's what you need. The rooms are basically apartments in blocks of 4 and are spacious but very dated with small bathrooms however it was good to have a separate bedroom for ny son to sleep. Each had a nice terrace outside to sit and relax. There was a fridge and oven but no cutlery or plates so you couldn't use them. The main issue is the room was freezing, so cold in fact we almost left after one night, we were disappointed that the rooms weren't aired and heated for guests in the winter. Breakfast was basic and disappointing. I'd steer clear in winter but if you could self cater and sit out on the terrace this hotel would be really nice.

The place is really great, the location is wonderfull and adapt for ceremonies. On the other rooms are on average, basic but spacious. I would suggest it for a one night or few nights stay, or if you don't care of the rooms also more thanks to the the location that as i said is nice and quiet! It also has a small "swimming" pool.

Terrible service. The receptionist hardly welcomed us and she asked for the documents in a harsh way and told us to move the car immediately. The room vas very poorly equipped and was very bad planned. The beds were appalingly bad.The coil-springs in the matresses were so hard that we could not sleep and gave us pain. We heard other people crying due to the same cause. The toilet-washroom was too small for 2 people at the same time. The breakfast was very bad. The eggs were green and cold. They offered us no fruits! The hotel was meant for wedding-parties and the only nice thing was the garden which was nice and well trimmed by an experienced and old gardener. We were one night transferred to the adjacent first class hotel: Resort dei Normanni which had excellent rooms and a very good swimming pool. The water in the pool of our hotel had only fresh water for some hour in the morning and was not properly cleaned. We can not recommend the hotel and we warn for this hotel!

We stayed twice at Villa Barone. We chose to stay in Villa Barone because it looked nice on the internet and because it is very close to Brindisi airport. We ended up being VERY disapointed I will explain why. 1st stay: we arrived at around midnight, the room was ready, very old fashionned furnitures, TV was not working, but all we wanted is to get some sleep so it was ok. The breakfast was pretty cheap but still OK. Be aware that the pool is really really small, if you expect to have a swim We stayed in Otranto for 2 weeks and had booked the same hotel for our last night, so we could easily commute to the airport the next morning. The day of our arrival we checked our mails and there was an e-mail from the hotel explaining they have a last minute party at the hotel so they could have us hosted in another hotel if we wished. The hotel is known for its wedding so because it was last minute notice to us, we thought we'd be OK. We arrived in the hotel at 8.pm it looked quiet, we went to the city next to the hotel for a meal and came back at midnight. Then the terror began! The "party" was not a regular party but a crazy DJ set (http://brindisi.nightguide.it/appuntamento/serata.php?idserata=192) There was hundreds of people yelling around our appartment, we could litterally feel the bass in the room, impossible to sleep at all, it went on until 4.30 in the morning. I have to say there I have a 3 years old daughter so I let you imagine the hell we went through… The day after we went to the reception, I complained and asked for a discount because they did not inform us that there was gonna be such a party. They said: "we sent an e-mail", wow, great service, not even a phone call to let us know the kind of event that was going to be held there… nothing. The arrogant receptionnist (pretending not understanding English, she would only reply in Italian to my wife who fortunately is fluent in Italian) said: "we do not call as we need a written proof we informed you, we sent an e-mail, there is nothing we could do, so no discount" She had the manager on the phone, but he wouldn't bother coming and meeting us as he was "busy"…what a joke of a customer service really… So if you really have to go to this hotel, keep in mind they seem to organize crazy parties quite often, and apparently on late notice. You need to make sure you check your e-mails on a daily basis (even if you're abroad…) because they won't bother calling. All they are interested in is filling their hotel, even if this means having a familly in the middle of a night club, it doesn't matter to them. AVOID!
