We are a historic camp situated on a beautiful peninsula at the end of the main street of Collingwood Village and surrounded in the Aorere river and the sea. Situated half way between the wild and wonderful Wharariki Beach and the splendor of Farewell Spit and the closest park to the wonderful Heaphy track, we are an extremely popular wee camp. The tranquility is sort after and our regular guests call it "Paradise" and you just can't beat that!

My son and I stayed in the only fully serviced unit (no 12) that features a toilet, shower and hand basin. While the bathroom is a little cramped for space, it served the purpose. The entrance contains a bottom and top bunk and the main room has a double bed. No door between the two though.
Grant, the manager was excellent to deal with. I had booked two nights but with our trip out to Farewell Spit cancelled due to high winds and rain, he cancelled our second night booking at no cost. The holiday park is right on the beach and about 150 meters to Tinky's restaurant and bar- a real bonus if you can't be bothered cooking in the communal kitchen.
At $120.00 NZD a night the unit is a little pricy but I understand the rates are set by the owners (Tasman District Council). I would be happy to return .

Wonderful natural surroundings with glorious sea, river and mountains views provide many attractive sites. The facilities are excellent - the individual combined toilet and shower rooms are the best we have experienced at any campground either here or in UK and Europe. There was always plenty of hot water and the design is ideal for providing excellent hygiene and cleanliness. All the facilities show that the management has thought about what is necessary to make a camping holiday feel as good, if not better, than many motels or hotels. We would heartily recommend this camping ground, and as Tasman locals will be returning often to the ideal site for exploring Golden Bay.

Location on edge of beach and right in town was perfect. Toilet/shower facilities in private cubicles were absolutely wonderful with no extra cost for hot water in shower’s. Hosts very friendly and accommodating. Recommend this campground to everyone.

We’ve just wrapped up our third year camping at Collingwood Holiday Park, and once again, it was an unforgettable experience! We stayed for two weeks, and from start to finish, we loved every minute of it. Jac and Grant, the park managers, are simply the best hosts, always accommodating, friendly, and just genuinely cool people. They go out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly, which we really appreciate.

We were two families, both with young kids aged between 9 and 13, and they absolutely loved it here. The park is full of activities to keep them entertained. Whether it’s fishing, swimming, or a game of tennis on the court, there’s always something to do. They also had a blast just playing around the campgrounds, which are so safe that we never had to worry.

The camp sites are spacious, and the kitchen and bathroom facilities are always clean, tidy and well maintained.

If you’re looking for a family friendly, well managed park with plenty to keep the kids happy and stress-free relaxation for the adults, Collingwood Holiday Park is the place to be. We’re already looking forward to next year!

We didn't want to leave! Jac and Grant have made an idyllic location even more perfect with a clean, up to date and user friendly environment. Our cabin was so cozy, each bed was made with consideration for the unpredictable weather and temperatures. We will 100% be staying here again.

Lovely holiday park literally overlooking Golden Bay and within a few minutes walk of local shops, small supermarket, petrol station, tavern, small history museum. Farewell Spit appx 30 mins up the road definitely worth a visit plus the historic graveyard and look out trail. The facilities have recently been updated with modern showers/WCs with no charges. Spotlessly clean and very nice kitchens plus BBQs which we really appreciated. Some motorhome sites overlook the water and reserve one of these if you can. For a few dollars more the views over the bay are truly amazing particularly at high tide. Some people were fishing, adjoining beach absolutely amazing and covered with driftwood but swimming would probably not be too safe. Very welcoming and great laid back vibe. Jac & Grant have worked really hard to make this special, we’ll be back.

We stayed at collingwood holiday park for 8 nights over Christmas 2021. It is a beautiful location right on the water and probably the best toilet/shower block we've experienced at a campground, the kitchen also has everything you coule want if youve forgotten anything and also has a bbq for guest use. Jac and Grant are amazing hosts and so kind and helpful, they keep the place spotless and nothings too much trouble for them. They used their car as a windbreak for our tent on some of the extra windy nights (there was a few of them) and really helped us out when our van battery died by driving us into takaka to get a new one. We loved the location, really handy to farewell spit and kahurangi national park and even abel tasman. It was a great base, really chilled out and relaxing and Grant & Jac really made the trip. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place or stay again. Thank you.

Faultless! Friendly and accommodating camp manager. Sites suitable for large vehicles, just mention large vehicle when you book so you get appropriate sized site. Enjoyed being beachfront, perfect spot for our 10yr old to play safely on the beach. Amenities always clean. Great hot showers. I think families with young children would appreciated the spacious and combined toilet and shower cubicles in the main block. Reliable free Wifi, which was handy on the one wet day we had. We booked for one night and ended up staying for three! About 25mins to Takaka, so a good base for visiting Anatoki Salmon Cafe, Te Waikoropupu Springs and of course Farewell Spit.
