This unit was great for us as a couple but would be wonderful for a family easily sleeping 4 or 5. Right on the beachfront it enjoys sea views. The bathroom with great shower and kitchen areas have recently been modernised and are very nice. Large fridge, microwave, oven and gas hobs. Dining table, lounge suite and TV. Private outdoor area and very comfortable.

The people that operate this spot are lovely, from the minute you arrive, they are low key and kind. They have created a lovely vibe. It's dog friendly and the dogs there were well behaved. It's a very beautiful beach. My dog has a rubber bone that he lives for. The bone was left behind by mistake, they dropped it off to us on their way to Nelson.. absolutely what manaakitanga is. Thanks so much.

Lovely place to to stay for a couple of nights, dated facilities but that adds to the charm. Nice to be able to wander of and get a few Tuatua at low tide. The wind was a pain, but I bet in the summer months it is welcome.

A great location for exploring Golden Bay and had a nice sheltered site as the wind can sure blow here! The toilets were very disappointing as we had cold showers one day & there was no soap in the dispenser in the mens toilets during our 3 day stay.

I was travelling in the area in my Campervan. Pulled into this campsite and was greeted by a welcoming man who quickly found me a site in what was a very busy and therefore popular camp. The sites are relatively small but everything you need to keep a Campervan fed and watered was available and working perfectly. Easy access to the beach was great and the beach itself deserves lots of long walks with a dog by your side.

There arent many campgrounds where you can pull in and park your van, or pitch your tent totally overlooking the beach and ocean and only a couple of steps away. Pakawau is one of those places. The showers are free and hot. Its a bit rustic in places, but its a good price, and has location, location, location. the wind can be a bit of an issue at times, but otherwise I love this place.

We spent a few days here,it is a good location close to the beachfront. The owners are friendly. Old buildings needing a bit of TLC but still good facilities, nice hot showers.Spacious sites some with sea views.

This is a small but very nice campsite right at the beachfront. Only a few beachfront sites are powered, but even if you have a site on the other side of the road, views are still magnificent. One should watch one's smaller children though, because there are no fences between the campsite and the beach, and the dunes are ligned with sharp rocks. Facilities are dated but clean.
