Lovely 'kiwi as' camping ground with gorgeous beachside sites; the manager Gary was super helpful and genuinely cared about making us happy - especially with his primo scoop ice creams! I can't wait to come back :-)

The people that operate this spot are lovely, from the minute you arrive, they are low key and kind. They have created a lovely vibe. It's dog friendly and the dogs there were well behaved. It's a very beautiful beach. My dog has a rubber bone that he lives for. The bone was left behind by mistake, they dropped it off to us on their way to Nelson.. absolutely what manaakitanga is. Thanks so much.

This unit was great for us as a couple but would be wonderful for a family easily sleeping 4 or 5. Right on the beachfront it enjoys sea views. The bathroom with great shower and kitchen areas have recently been modernised and are very nice. Large fridge, microwave, oven and gas hobs. Dining table, lounge suite and TV. Private outdoor area and very comfortable.

Lovely place to to stay for a couple of nights, dated facilities but that adds to the charm. Nice to be able to wander of and get a few Tuatua at low tide. The wind was a pain, but I bet in the summer months it is welcome.

I was travelling in the area in my Campervan. Pulled into this campsite and was greeted by a welcoming man who quickly found me a site in what was a very busy and therefore popular camp. The sites are relatively small but everything you need to keep a Campervan fed and watered was available and working perfectly. Easy access to the beach was great and the beach itself deserves lots of long walks with a dog by your side.

We use to love visiitng here for years. Dogs are now allowed in camp (but not on beach, go figure) and barking dogs keep us awake four times in the night. Slso we were all jammed in like sardines. wd had tent pegs at our door front. and had to ask peoole to shift car so we could get out of our site. on a lovely sunny calm day in fhe offseason this is devine and a fantastic beach. During peak seaon or a windy wet day it is not the place to be. Oh, and we couldnt swim at high tide as there were so many people fishing it wasnt safe. we even had prople standing at our campsite fishing
